IOTA reaching 1.42 USD on Bitfinex today; up we go again; this coin is so amazing! Smiley

It looks like the run to $2 will materialise in the wake of a further appreciation of Bitcoin. But it will be a hard fight with so many IOTA floating around.

With the news of CME opening Bitcoin futures from December 18th, I think prices will go a little bit up.

I'm curious as to what's pumping the IOTA price so high? I've held IOTA for months, having to go through several recoveries with each new wallet update, and 6-12 hour transaction times trying to get it back to an exchange. In the end I sold the lot due to the frustrations with the platform. The idea is great, but it doesn't feel anywhere near ready for prime time. Am I missing some amazing news that justifies the pump, or is just market manipulation?

There's very solid tech and math behind this coin, a lot more than behind, say, Bcash or DASH or whatever. It's the leading coin in emerging category of IoT payemnts.

I don't think it's not that they don't have expectations for it, it's just they feel it's too early. I say it's never too early if there's high confidence, but I can see what they are about.

It's still in proof of concept stage. Not even beta software. This is alpha. Usually developers would not release software this early in its development however with this particular concept it is useful to have the network under load during development.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

The Tangle can be easily hacked... I lost money, search on google for hundreds of IOTA wallets that get hacked daily!!! IOTA is the least safe crypto in the top 100 coins.

Who doesn't have a few airdropped shitcoins? That doesn't make the article any less valid. Do some Googling and you'll find a lot more examples.

The project has real potential, but the risk of losing coins due to wallet updates, or reused tx addresses is a big concern.

I totally understand your concerns. Iota is acctually not made for investors it's made for machines and reality usecase in IoT. That's one reason (beside the tech) why that big companys are partnering with it. And Iota needs to create that for them ASAP, because they don't like to wait. That's why Iota is actually heading all their ressourcces to develop the protocol to make it production-ready.

But you should see it as an opportunity... invest while there's a bullshit wallet and laugh when that changes Smiley

And by the way... it can't be easily hacked. Yust if you use the same adress for sending, twice. But i (like every investor) agree it's actually not really good usable for humans.

That's fine by me, I'm happy you understand the tech, i loved the potential however I feel more effort should be made to explain how dangerous the tangle can be.  New comers should be made aware.  It sits in such a nice top 10 spot.  (I'm not new to iota - I was away on business for a few months and hadn't picked up the snapshot news. ) It's such a shame but I fear more and more holes will be found by hackers.  It's an open market.  A Hackers Paradise.  Good luck to IOTA, but man, PEOPLE BE AWARE HOW DANGEROUS THIS COIN CAN BE!

It would seem IOTA is just another shitcoin if it's unable to handle security?

Have you verified this "hack"? If what you say is possible, it should be easy enough to replicate. I would be interested in seeing it replicated.  Otherwise, its easier to assume you simply made a mistake.

Solid tech and math which doesn't work.... your better off with a reliable coin like BTC, LTC, even NEO looks like a good investment right now... The complexity of IOTA will be it's downfall.  TO MANY HOLES.  Take for instance their very own HASH "The Curl", what a joke this turned out to be.  Sometimes trying to be to clever is stupid.  Nice try though.  Somebody had to.
