IOTA is still suffering from a lot of FUD. Maybe because everybody fears it. If this monsters give what it promises, I think it could be an easy top 3. YES, I really do think it. Let's see.

IOTA aims for top 1.
IOTA will plan to deploy smart contract?

Cointelegraph writes today that IBM is taking IoT seriously

https://cointelegraph.com/news/ibm-files-patent-for-proof-of-work-protocol-tailored-to-iot-networks

Although IOTA isn't directly involved, this indicates a further sign of adoption to the IOTA "type" of protocol, doesn't it?

What do you guys make out of this?

Did we all not place our trust in David and CfB when we participated in the crowdsale? I don't understand why some of us (luckily very few) are suddenly wary of David's judgement? Can we not simply trust him once again?

If you are a church member "simply trust him" is OK.
If you are an investor you better do you own DD. And then "toxic character" of a founder is not a plus point.

 Grin

99% of ICO investors were following CfB, David and Dominik were never the draw cards, they could both be replaced tomorrow and easily replaced with seasoned tech entrepreneurs, whereas replacing CfB would be impossible. Who cares about personalities anyway, if David is as toxic as you suggest he won't last long in a foundation where bullies will get ejected, even founders. IOTA is bigger than any individual now, except maybe CfB until the COO is safely removed.

So IOTA is in love with Fujitsu.

Intel collaborates with Fujitsu on IoT with new Xeon CPUs:

I think you only got half right. If cfb is a tech genius, David and Dom are the business genius. A successful venture can not be without both and the business genius such as Steve jobs and mark zukerburg often time are more important than the tech genius. A good example is NXT. NXT had cfb but did not have David and Dom as the business leaders. David and Dom are as rare as cfb, Vitalik, and Dan Larimar in this space. They have different skill sets.

Just as in a successful startup, you only can replace those founders when the enterprise becomes matured and stable. Jobs in Apple and Gates in Microsoft can be replaced at some point when the companies got matured and stable and running like a machine.

It is also like building a kingdom or dynasty. In the early stage, you need warriors to build the kingdom. They can kill and fight and be ruthless and doing things mostly based on instinct. After they conquer the land, they can be replaced (in many case better to be replaced) by the more civil managers with good administration skills.

Nothing surprising for people which are following IOTA and Oyster development closely. As the article states, IOTA has not implemented the needed features yet:

Quote
...the IOTA team has not yet implemented Swarm Intelligence and sharding into their system. For the Oyster protocol to operate as efficiently as possible for large-scale, redundant file storage, sharding will need to be implemented into IOTA’s infrastructure

It was very clear before that IOTA will not implement the swarm intelligence and sharding in the time that Oyster needs to satisfy their roadmap .

what are the chances that they will have to postpone it again?

Very interesting and useful article about the MIOTA project.
This one article outlines the achievements and prospects for using the MIOTA technology - What Makes IOTA (MIOTA) Tangle Ahead of Its Competition?

I do not know. Following discussion on Discord channel gives you a rough impression about how development is going.
IOTA has always delivered the spoken word. That's why I believe in it. Only rarely at the time you expected it. Besides, they do not announce releases anymore, which I like.

I have a problem because I‘m currently not able to access my private key. Do I absolutely have to take some actions before the Snapshot ?

No, there is nothing you have to do in preparation. After the snapshot you will have to generate/attach some addresses to see your balance again in the wallet.

This is what the IOTA Foundation has to say about that:

"As you have noted, several people within UCL, including Navin Ramachandran has expressed their frustration and perplexion toward this act. In fact, we are still not sure whether this is a website being hacked or someone rogue in CBT that put this up. Making such a drastic statement and decision based on falsehoods on a Friday night when no one can reach the people involved is not protocol for a prestigious university or any of its affiliates (CBT).

We have reached out to the directors of UCL CBT pending resolution, but again due to the odd timing, we probably won't have any official response until Monday.

On the topic of IOTA Foundation's attitude toward cryptography researchers, that there is an 'issue' here is a misconception that gets repeated by bad reporting. The IOTA Foundation has always been and is still working very closely with globally renowned cryptographers, mathematicians, and other computer science researchers. There is absolutely no tension here beyond the false narrative pushed by a handful of people. I will once more underscore that the IOTA Foundation has never threatened any researchers for their work, of course not, and we condemn the very idea of doing so, which we have denounced publicly repeatedly. "

Where did you get the information from? The official blog does not provide a statement. It is not the first time I read something official which was communicated in unspecified channels. I think there should be used a channel for every news from the foundation.

a project that can be trusted and does not look at any rank because it will work, and so many people follow this project and it all depends on their respective person.
