@stadus. A friend of mine has said that if you love statistics and triple doubles, Lebron is for you. However, if you like style, flamboyance and leadership, there is only the one great Michael Jordan hehehe.

Lebon is no doubt the best player in the NBA in terms of consistency but I don't admire him when it comes in the playoffs or in the NBA finals as he cannot solely take his team to win a championship, of the times he became a champion, he was playing along with NBA stars, unlike Kobe that only needed Gasol and Odom to win an NBA championship.

I know we have different basis, and we have different teams that we really like, for me I like Kobe and there's non in the NBA now that could surpass him.

Agreed! The only thing I dislike about Lebron is his lack of killer instinct, I mean he usually look for a teammate to rely on down the stretch. Unlike Kobe or Jordan who would take the shot no matter what during the crunch time. And Im not saying Lebron isnt clutch, he is, but not in Kobe or Jordan's level. However, Lebron is definitely in the list of all time greats.

And there's no argue with that., MJ is the best in terms of leadership and the determination in winning each games especially the finals. MJ wouldn't have any hesitation once he already seen the opportunities he will take it with his hands and would not let the fans be disappointed. Though there's no doubt that LeBron would not  be far from Kobe and MJ in terms of skills and capabilities.

I remember Zion getting injured before entering the NBA draft and this recent injury is not a good sign for NO.
~
Third injury this year if I am not mistaken.

Just imagine how may more injuries he will sustain when he's in mid-20's.

NBA GM’s vote Nikola Jokic, not Joel Embiid, as best center in league

It's close but I also think Jokic is the better center between the two.

Zion is not "overrated", people who think media is excited about a number one overall pick gonna be beast thinks they mean pelicans drafted a Lebron or an MJ.

It is not like that, check out the last 10 years, there have been very few players who came out of number one overall pick that was as physically as talented as Zion, dude is a beast physically, he is not tall but definitely heavy and still can rebound and dunk very well. Sure, he can still get better by losing a bit weight and playing with a bit different styles instead of just explosiveness but that doesn't mean that he is not good, he is one of the best draft picks of the last 10 years and would totally be in top 20 pick in 5 to 10 years if he stays healthy.

Nobody thinks he is going to be hall of famer right away, or maybe ever, but considering there have been people picked at 13th spot playing better than 1st pick in some of those years, its a good feeling that pelicans picked the clear best of that draft, not "maybe" the best (Ayton going over Luka is a joke for example) but 100% the best in this draft.
We can see later when he plays in the regular season. The weight is not proportional to the height and Zion's explosive play style. I hope when he focuses on healing injuries he can also diet to lose weight

Yep, i would choose Jokic over Embiid as well, it is pleasure to watch Jokic, he plays with such ease, pure BBIQ. If Embiid was healthy guy, that would be different story though.

In the other news, as expected Pascal Siakam signed  contract extension for 130/4 with  Toronto  Raptors. Makes sense that Raptors offered him max rookie contract, he is their potential franchise player.

Jokic could be the next "Big Fundamental". He doesn't force it

The guy has already proven himself to be reliable and he was instrumental in their first title run. I'm curious if he can contribute more to the team now that Kahwi is gone. Nevertheless, good job for the Raptors here.

Can we really imagine what kind of player Williamson is if he loses some weight? I mean, he's explosive since he was heavy and he would be a monster if he lose weight.

The Joker is a better team player and he can lead his team to more success, this guy is also healthy so he can contribute a lot to the team.
Attitude wise, I also like Joker and I believe with him in the Nuggets, we can expect them to be more successful.

Siakam was really a big help on the success of the Raptors, he should his true potential in the playoffs and that's what the organization saw.
He is part of the starting five who gave them their first championship, so its a nice move by the Raptors.

Hm many things should happen in order for him to be next "Big Fundamental". He has the tool set, that is for sure, but Tim Duncan is best power forward ever , and on top of that he had Greg Popovich as coach, that knew how to utilitise him in best possible way. Jokic will have to work hard to earn that kind of title, and especially work on that 3 pts shooting, last season was bad for him in that regard.

Jokic is  a new version of  Arvydas  Sabonis, those who were old enough had to pleasure to watch probably most versatile big man ever that unfortunately came to the NBA a bit too late.

Jokic is a different type of breed, dude can pass which is really important in a league where guards are dominating right now, people do not want "beast" centers that goes in and dunks on other people and bully them in the post, that is not the case anymore, people are playing from the perimeter now and that is more important and valuable than the post up game now.

So, having Jokic means you have a big inside that can score like the others but can also find the guards the way league is playing right now, a Center that can pass worth not just because he is good himself but also he makes the team around him very well as well, look at Denver, those guys are still super young but managed became second seed last season, take the Spurs to 7 games and then played with blazers until 7th game as well so they did as well as expected from such a young team.

Yeah Jokic would probably the better one in this matchup and I believe he is part of the first team all NBA last season. Both of these centers are not traditional centers and pose great potential in the league but you know where Jokic really excels right? Being the point-center. It's actually a big thing since you'll be getting both guys with just one player. I hope Jokic could have a quadruple-double soon. Since I think the first one got this is a center? And the hardest stat a center could have is assists right?

Jokic could be the next "Big Fundamental". He doesn't force it

I don't know Sabonis and I;m not gonna comment on best PF. But now that you mentioned coach Pop, I do think Jokic is someone who will excel under him. I can't help but think last season that Jokic is built for a team like Spurs (under Pop's watch).

I don't think the Nuggets will let go of him but it would be nice to see him play for the Spurs. Maybe trade with Aldridge?

That would be a wildest dream for Pop but I don't think that they will give up Nikola Jokic, their best player and also their franchise player. What makes you think that they will accept a 34 yr old Center while they have a point-center guy that can score almost anywhere in the court?

I don't know what his current contract states, but according to this site https://hoopshype.com/player/nikola-jokic/salary/
Jokic will receive $27,504,630 this season and the based on project, it will increase in the 2 seasons to come.
If there's no problem inside the organization involving him, Nuggets will certainly keep him with a maximum contract, they need jokic as he is the team's best player.

Bigmen like Jokic adopt to the gameplay and play post up to make his guards open. Is more like in and out plays to make a variety of shots for the team. But if he can dominate the shaded area, then that could also be another problem for their opponents because they would pick their poison whether defend the paint or defend the threes.

Denver will not let him go, it's a matter of sacrificing your team for the whole season if you do trade your best player. Else, there's an internal talks between the management that both team can't ignore, a deal which both teams will prosper in the short and long term trades.

We can all speculates but no one can assures that things won't happened till the last terms of trading timeframe.

NBA regular season 2019 is approaching.
Notable game on the opening night is the Lakers vs. Clippers. Any thoughts regarding this match up? Predictions? Odds?

I will be rooting and bet for the Lakers. I have the feeling that they can get the W ( with high hopes ).
I just cant wait to see how they play against each other.

Lakers will make a good impression to this opening game, seeing them how to prepare last post season games makes me much comfortable betting for them to win. With Lebron and Davis leading them the whole Lakers team are fully enforced and ready with well equipped supporting cast.

It's about time to see how impressive all those teams that will battling to gained the ring. Good luck everyone.

NBA GM’s vote Nikola Jokic, not Joel Embiid, as best center in league

It's close but I also think Jokic is the better center between the two.

Yep, i would choose Jokic over Embiid as well, it is pleasure to watch Jokic, he plays with such ease, pure BBIQ. If Embiid was healthy guy, that would be different story though.

I have the same breakdown if those two will be compared.
I watched Jokic with his every move and I literally focused on how he moves and how great he is when he is on that paint.
He got some different kind of thinking when he is holding that ball, looking for the best option to score for the team.
Unselfish play. He doesnt require those numbers to go up. He just want to win the game.

I know Embiid have the same goal and it was seen when he cried when they lose against the Raptors.
He is a winner but with a different attitude that Jokic.
All in all I would still pick Jokic over Embiid.
