The game ended nice for Rockets though.
Nice? I think it' way far from it. Their game ended very great! Houston brutally killed the Shanghai Sharks anf take note, Westbrook didn't played yet . I don't know if Rockets was so powerful or Shark's quality of basketball is just poor? Whatever the reason is, I see that Houston is now ready for the upcoming season. Props to Gerald Greens' 3 pointers, I can feel that he can be a good scoring machine for his team throughout the season . It's just a tune up match and they dismantled Shanghai sharks which means they are ready for this coming NBA season. Neven without Westbrook, the Rockets pull off a win against a top team in China and I think what lacks for the team is a reliable center for their defense and an anchor for the low post.

Don't underestimate Clint Capela, he is a reliable center and he is one of the reason why the Rockets are successful. With the game of the Rockets which is the fast pace, they need a center that is also fast and Clint Capela did his job pretty well, if you are watching his plays closely, you will see how good he is in blocking shots and rebounding the ball.. They also have their back up centers. Tyson Chandler - experience..... Nene - experience... complete line up her https://tv5.espn.com/nba/team/roster/_/name/hou/houston-rockets,, in case I missed another center.

Oh really? That is one of China's top teams? I can't believe it, now I more realized how American's basktball is more superior than Asia's . I guess only the Europeans can close to them simply because they got the same physique. and I think what lacks for the team is a reliable center for their defense and an anchor for the low post.
Yeah! It's also my concern for them from the very beginning, that's why I'm shocked that they trade to get another PG. Capela serves as their main Center and for me he's doing fine though sometimes he struggle in the paint. But well, let's just trust on him for the meantime while they're not yet having a chance to get another strong Center. Besides, Nene and Chandler was there to support him. I believe that they can make it . Edit: Natalim got fast hands on replying .

It's wise if we will based our discussion on the stats. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/capelca01.htmlCheck the stats and we shall see that Capela is a good center. In the last 2 seasons, he averaged a double double, so that would tell already that he is a good center. And also remember that he improve his pts average from 13.9 to 16.6... and this is an extra, he has at least 1 block per game.

Even if Harden did not in that game still the Rockets would win . The Sharks can't make it even a close game. @NavI_027 and @Natalim have already pointed out that Capela is a great fit to the Rocket's system of play. He is an athletic guy that can run the floor well with Harden and hopefully with Westbrook too.

Yes, he is definitely a good center for Houston, the thing with Capela is that he is agile and athletic. We have seen him switch during a peak in roll and he was able to maintain tabs with much shorter and quicker player and he can block them at times. As we have seen, centers also evolved, now they've improved a lot tall lanky and can move very easily inside and outside the paint.

I mean he needs someone who is as good as him, and this team will be unstoppable.
I think with Westbrook, it is already enough as Westbrook is even better than him in terms of stats, they just need to cooperate of each other to have a better team. They don't need to chase for the MVP award since both of them have already won one, and they should be more focus on taking their team tot he NBA finals, even if they will lose, that's already a big improvement that people will conclude their chemistry is good. Yeah right, the caliber of this two combine MVP's will be test after bringing the franchise to the finals, though it's not an easy task but the fans will love how chemistry will bring them the glory. Combining this two superstars who almost have the same skills and level of stardom will be a tough job for the coaches. They need to make a clear statement knowing who's going to adjust between the two. Though Everything will relied with how the team will performed and how everyone be involved, the future of this franchise after WB additions will be catchy for the fans and supporters.

He is very consistent actually, I've seen him many times in playoffs and he is more productive, so they don't need to change center. What the Rockets is lacking is the role players, if Harden can't score there should be somebody to step up, and with Westbrook now, it's impossible that this two will have an off nights together or they will be stopped together as they are good in one on one plays and you can double the two, or else you will give the Rockets an easy opens shots from 3 points or the inside by Capela . Image + Luka What are the chances? They might kick Lebron and AD's asses ~snip 1%.. lol

Indeed, that's why Howard cut his weight, Porzingris did some weights to transform his slim body to muscular and McGee did the same as well. They don't have any choice but to change or else a more versatile player like Antetokounmpo will crush them. I've watched some of their videos on FB while doing some exercise and drills and I'm impressed. Howard's appearance is quite disturbing (he's like a tall zombie ) to be honest, but I think he is fitter than before. I'm now very excited to see how agile he is.

Yes, and I am intrigued by the stats of Harden. Triple double with just 10 points. It is like giving the fans some sneak peak of what is going to happen in their plays. Will Harden really give way to Westbrook being more of a team player or a passing guard rather than doing the 1000 dribbles and just ending up shooting the three without even passing it to anyone? Like telling his team mates, sorry it took long before I shoot it.

Will the balance of the team splits to everyone and not just a Harden show? having a lot of options and show more plays to find the open man. Harden and Westbrook needs to realize how MJ adjusted before he finally carried the bull to 2x Grand Slam titles. allowing your teammates to move and participate will boost them up and create spaces to execute a good high percentage plays.

just like unusual show by clippers last season, this season can expect few unusual teams to climb up the scoring ladder. Golden state warriors looks strong with stronger players. Also, recent signing of Tomas Satoransky from the Washington Wizards to Chicago Bulls makes it even stronger as an underrated team. Lets keep our eyes open !
Stronger players? The warriors just lost durant in free agency and klay is dealing with a blown acl. That isnt exactly the easiest injury to come back from. I wouldn't be surprised if gs is actually one team that slides to the backend of the western conference playoff teams in the 6-8 range. There are some pretty good teams in the west now.

I guess we are talking about a Chinese team, what were you expecting a contender of NBA barely beating them? If they didn't tried at all and they didn't brought in James harden as well and maybe if there was something going wrong the game could have been close but even the bench of rockets have the talent levels to destroy a Chinese team.
Hence, when you bring in rockets and harden and they actually try to play the game the difference was kinda expected. I wouldn't really be shocked by any result that is at least 30+ point difference and it happened. 140 points was a bit different but even the NBA offensive ratings are getting higher so when a team scores over 100 every night against other NBA teams, it is not a shocker that they scored 140 against a team that's a lot worse.

It's a pre-season game what do you expect? That this game should be taken seriously because there are NBA players playing against a Chinese team? I don't think so we all know that pre-season games are not taken seriously and everything is about testing the waters. Chris Clemons might have scored that good because of course his confidence is up since he is playing against a team on another league and they have outscored them all through out the game. This would be a lot different in the regular NBA season and I don't think he will have that kind of production let alone have that kind of minutes given to him when that time comes.

Hmm, what if Rockets got loss? Others will say they are not ready in the upcoming season? lol.
Win or loss, a single game will not dictate anything. Chemistry concerns, it will build along the way.
NBA teams are always ready. Never heard of a team that is not prepared to enter the season even with no superstars nor known role players on the lineup lol. These players are paid. They should always be ready and lived with their contracts.
And that game against the Sharks is already a deciding game. Rockets players can do whatever they want without coach permission.

Just wow! Two bigman and a midget who can penetrate.
Lol that line reminds me of Jason No Homo Terry
As far as the Dallas Mavericks go, it will interesting to see what chemistry Doncic and the Unicorn can build throughout the season. As i see it, they are probably 2 years away from any playoff contention the way their current roster is constructed. I just really hope Porzingis stays healthy, ACL tears and 7 footers in never really a good combination.

When up against subpar teams in non deciding games he is sneaky lethal, but in a playoff situation he is who he is, can give dallas some minutes. Porzingis is the real x factor for them this year, he was looking good on the knicks before the knee injury
