I wish Lebron just go into Sixers instead of Lakers because he and Simmons are a good duo and they can dominate. Simmons is young in NBA but he can cope up with some of the veterans and he is an all around player. On the other hand, Lebron is also an all around same with Simmons. Simmons need more experience but now he needs to practice perimeter and 3 pt. shots I think. If he can do it, he can be an all star in the next 2-3 years. If only Lebron have gone to the Sixers, they would have been the powerhouse of the East now but that is not what is in the mind of Lebron right now. He is more focus on the future of his career because he is getting old and signing with the Lakers is a business decision for him.

West Final Conference these season will be a heat up fight better and might be better than the NBA finals. Every one wants to see the revenge of the King and take another NBA finals win for his team. I don't know what might happen to the new West Rivalry but all I know is that Lebron will be having a new team with a possibility of winning the West.

But letting Luol Deng go and making a free cash for next max contract is clearly a step towards building a championship team next year. The question is WHO? There are rumors about Jimmy Butler joining Lakers next year.

Okay so I read your answers and mostly says it is a "No". The NBA is still on good track. Maybe people are really just comparing too much. The game is really different now than before since trainings are also different and now they are also using Math and Science to upgrade the game of one player. I guess you know what I mean. Just like what they have done with Dirk using Geometry. But therr should always be a balance. If this will continue and tall men cannot catch up then it will be the game of average heights. Maybe that is one more reason to why Durant doesnt want his body to be buffed.

The game is getting a bigger talent pool that is correct but just because players can play without hardcore play it doesn't mean game is not softer right now, it is getting much much softer than what it was on defense, yes on offense people are evolving to more three pointers or even bigs can pass and so forth but they have literally moved hand checking to foul levels and we can't just come up and say the game is not softer because of it.
Hand checking was one of the biggest weapons of defense for many teams and without it the defense is just lacking greatly and people like harden is abusing these powers given to offensive players.

I have that thought too at first but we must also consider this average height of guys. Before it is hard to be one. You need to be a high jumper so that you could score inside for they wont let you make a perimeter shot because of that hand check. They have given them an opportunity to create score but it became way too far that it had to be abused. Harden is the one I always imagine with it. Dribbling the ball for centuries and no one can even go near him. Why? No handcheck. They could be called for a foul in an instant or maybe something else. Double teams. We dont see much of it anymore. Full court press. No. It will always be a man to man waiting at the other side of the court. Defense plays are out. It is all about the offense now. Defense now depends on the player of how good he could be one on one.

Any comments? Is the NBA league really getting soft?
Nah, NBA league is getting tough! You can only say the league has become soft because it became less physical than the 80's and 90's era. The players now has evolve into a more agile individuals that could score with a minimal body contact. Everyone in the league today could shoot a three or hit from the perimeter, big men doesnt need to be always on the low post, they could even dribble drive their way to the basket. Only those butthurt haters would say the 90's era is better than today. I agree. The era of 80's and 90's are all on the type of plays that is mostly connected to physical contacts. With the flashy dribble handles by GOD Shammgod, I guess that started the next great dribblers of NBA history. With a lot of moves and dribbling skills being passed down, that kind of play is being there for a long time now. And with a lot of new skills being shown, next generations will tend to improve and be developed in these games. Expect that in the next generations, having a 100 points in a game will be common as having a 70 points in our current generation. For me, great shooters and dribblers will be getting in the court of NBA soon. Like curry of course but if the NBA will change their rules and they will allow more physical game then I don't think the outside shooting will be popular as with pressure defense they won't have an easy look. NBA changed their rules? For what? More or less with physical game it doesnt matter and i dont know where you do get that outside shooting wont really be popular. If you do try to look on the angles some of the teams do have that capability on shooting way to the basket. Reading above about comparison about 80s,90s play upto recent years. They do really differ but why would be surprised since there would really be always changes from generation to generation. The thing we do talk about is that we arent get used to it.

We just have to accept that there are things in the past that we can't see now today. Even how hard we discussed it here, it wont change. Just because we want it "this" way, it should be happened. If the usual officiating back then continues to lived until now, then we might see some hard contact with no foul. Id like to see those past era's actions too where when a player drives, it was purely contested because of the defender not worrying about getting a foul.

Philadelphia 76ers needs lots of adjustments before they can make a space for max contract. In other words, they really can't give it quick unlike with the Los Angeles Lakers. And not just that, Lakers also have another room for another max contract with a potential of signing another superstar. Also include their ability to signed an experienced role player that can be a big help to the team. These type of advantages is not possible to LeBron James if he choose the Sixers. This team wont be able to signed another role player if James signed here. Meaning there is no bench backup as the offense will just focus on James-Simmons-Embiid. Nice decision by James + securing lots of $$$ at his age. Money wise.

Lebron signed for the Lakers because of his frustration on his last 2 years in his return to the Cavaliers, I reckon. This is the same as the time he signed to the Miami Heat. It is a decision of making the championship again, a decision for money and it might also be a decision for his own personal happiness, or his family's happiness.

I am sure not about championship because for sure he cannot make it easily since his teammates are not that good and experience. He got the championship with Miami easily because he was able to play with Wade and Bosh, but the Lakers are a weak team so he needs to build it first.

Most of us have same position with lifting this team to a ring, personal decisions might influence his position joining this team, though its still early to say that the team might have a chance to form a solid blend, like how the GSW made they are not really the favorite way back, but after establishing the chemistry and by the help of another super star they can now build another dynasty, still a question for Lebron and the Lakers it can be decide when the league start and how this team will perform.

Lebron is on the part of hus career that he really needs to do what he wants since if he will be having an injury, that will be making his career fast to end. Though I know that it will not happen to him, losing him in the league will be having a great effect. There are a lot of great players in NBA but Lebron James are mostly the center of attraction.

I don't think Lebron and the Lakers can win on the Western Conference in the playoffs. The roster of Lakers is composed mainly by young and inexperienced players especially in playoffs. Western Conference will be good to watch and will be more intense compare to East but as always, Warriors and Rockets are the ones I expect to dominate again. Lakers doesn't have the power to defeat those teams even Lebron is there.

Well there is no Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Lakers. All of them out there are young guns. It will be a difficult time for him to carry the whole team. He wins championships with help. Wait, every star does. This is actually something which is not new. He loves coming in to a weak team and take them up but never a championship. Just the Finals though. Is it really out of frustration or just fame?

You can find players moved around in search for happiness whether getting close to their families and the money of course and championships. But perhaps there's other reason because Lebron has fulfilled almost everything, (rings, MVPs, money, fame). I see that there are more compelling reasons for Lebron to moved to "Hollywood". But we will find out once he played in LA and see how it goes for him.

I honestly believe the biggest reason why he moved to Lakers was the business ownership he has. He can stay in los angeles and california and run all of his business from there much better and become a proper business man after he retires and he needs to set those roots deep during his playing days. I do not think lebron will ever focus on winning another ring, he is just focusing on being the best money making machine he can be. Lakers is also a great networking opportunity because there are so many celebrities that comes to games and they can get together and build a business relation and make a proper business deal.

That could be one good reason. I guess he will be seeling his house in Cleveland now since he wont need it and will buy another in LA or maybe he already have one. Dream come true for him and I guess fans will still support him whatever reason it could be. Let's face it. It is the perks of being the best in the league.

So its likely a business move for him? That's good as least he is not like the rest of the NBA stars who after having a successful career ended up with nothing because they didn't take care of their money and their future. Others became bankrupt and was force to sell their NBA memorabilia. But I read some articles saying that his main reason for moving is because of his childhood idol, Magic Johnson. So there's a lot of personal and financial reasons for him really move to LA and yeah he is the best player so he can do anything he want.

Exactly. Even NBA is all about business. That;s the reason why other sport are better than basketball. But still anyway I'm a fan of NBA. Hopefully BlackMamba legacy will not buried by Lebron James joining Lakers.
