We can only say it's different because Warriors are a different team now, why not give them a try again, they were successful without Durant so for sure they'll compete well against the tough teams in the west.
Back then, it wasn't only the Warriors which are a strong team, the Lakers and the Clippers that we are seeing now could be the Spurs and the OKC before when Westbrook and Durant was still playing together, but what they Warriors did, they beat them all.
But there is an Iggy back then and so is Livingston. Those 2 guys had been a great addition for GSW. We could still see that once the splash brothers go back. 2 games with former team mates. Kawhi meeting the Spurs and on the other side Butler and the 76ers. Spurs really did a great job preventing the Clippers to easily win the game. While Miami dominated the 76ers with 31 point lead. Wow! Amazing Heat even against one of the strongest in the East last year. Now they are 4th on the ranking while 76ers at the 6th seed. I was thinking of betting the heat but Sixers are also a good team, but in this game, Heat showed how good they are at home, it's gonna be their advantage in the playoffs if they can maintain that good record, they just need to finish in the top 4 so they'll have the home court advantage. As of now, they are tied with the Celtics and is sitting at the top 4, they should hold on that spot, and they are one of the teams with the best home record. - https://www.nba.com/standings -

it's good to back the spurs when they are an underdog and most likely we will see more games where they are underdog due to their low standing now. Next game is again in LA against the Lakers, they are -12 and I think again they'll cover this game.
Well, Spurs might be at that standing but man, they are still a good team with the best coach. Even they are 22 and 28, they are still highlighted with their best plays in the game. That is just how they really played well, it is just that they are being outplayed by other good teams.

The end of the regular season is too far away and spurs are not that far with the number 8 spot. Since spurs doesn't have a good start so far, all they need to do is just to step in the rank 7 and 8 and they'll have a shot to win in the first round due to their experience, and you are right, they have the best coach with them, coach pop can make a difference in the playoffs.

Knowing this team being mentored and lead by a well known Coach it's still possible for them to reach the 7-8 spot to catch up into the next round. Spurs have players who also have the capabilities to stand up and lift the team. Still possible to work with their standing and win some more games to have a spot for the 2nd round.

DeRozan stats has improve this season so far, if he work more on his shots then he will be more consistent comes playoffs time. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/derozde01.htmlnow averaging at 24 PPG compared to last season's 21.9 only and we have some supporting cast that are getting better and better per season. Spurs is a legit team and they'll have a chance to be playing in the playoffs again although this season the competition is tighter.

Without Luka, Dallas Mavericks are still doing their usual thing, which is winning.
I have watched the game and both teams did well. It is known that Luka is one of the pillars of Dallas and that's why every time he's not on the watch, we used to think that they can easily be beaten. Still Dallas performed well against Pacers.

Honestly on the season warriors became champions the west side was a bit weak, it was still stronger than east side as is the tradition but it wasn't as strong as today.
Rockets wasn't as good as they were in the past 5 years, spurs were coming off a championship but they were still getting older and older which resulted with them eventually retiring in few seasons even tho they came off a championship they were really getting worse very quickly, OKC was the only proper rival and even with that they were still having coaching problems. On warriors first ever championship, the west was good but not this good.
Today we have Lakers, Clippers, Utah, Denver, Rockets and god knows who else I am forgetting playing like they could all actually end up winning the league. East is even scarier with Bucks, Miami, Raptors, Sixers, Celtics all playing very well as well. This will be one of the few years where even the second round will be fun to watch let alone conference finals versus all the previous years where only the finals mattered and sometimes not even that mattered all that much.

I think of the opposite. I'm not one of those people who thinks Dallas Mavericks is a team that can easily beat without Luka Doncic. How come we can think of that way if, at some of their games, we can see that they are performing well even without Doncic on the floor. They can still give a close fight to whatever teams. And Porzingis is doing great while Luka is out. Might be a tricky to other gamblers in terms of odds distributions at some of their games as we can still see a ( - ) points given for Mavericks even Luka is out.

There are teams that gave Warriors almost a match during their championship season. OKC managed to get a 3-1 lead against the Warriors on 2016 Playoffs but they blew it. And the next season, Durant transfer to OKC destroying the competition on the West. They almost beat OKC on that playoffs. If only Durant stays, I think we can see OKC at the finals the other year. Spurs also managed to get close to Warriors last 2017 playoffs but Kawhi got injured. It will be a while that we will see again Warriors on the finals as competition heats up in the West. Still, we are lucky to witnessed Warriors rise from scratch.

Warriors have over achieved already, winning championships easily, now that Durant was out in the squad, the west is now more competitive and its hard to predict who would win the championship this season, and next season Warriors are healthy again, they can be considered as the championship contender.

Even when stars are injured the odds it not affected at all. I think they don't rely with that or Vegas don't. It will be a punch to the nose of the coach if that is how they calculate winning odds. We have seen it already and way too much. Also, Luka doesn't play the whole 48 minutes of the game. There are times when the lead of Dallas came from the 2nd stringers of the team.

Yes, but it will be totally different, they don't have the dominance that they once had in the West. It will be hard pressed on them to contend for the trophy even if both of them are going to be healthy next season. Unless they got another superstar in their team like when they acquired KD and start a championship run.

For some NBA transfer/swap deals, there are reports that the Timberwolves, Hawks, Rockets and Nuggets have reached a four-team deal. Here's how it looks according to this articleThe Wolves are said to be shipping Robert Covington, Jordan Bell and a 2nd-round pick to Houston; with Clint Capela and Nene on to Atlanta; Keita Bates-Diop, Shabazz Napier, Noah Vonleh, Gerald Green and a Houston 1st-round pick to Denver; as well as Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez, Jarred Vanderbilt, Evan Turner and a 1st-round pick (Atlanta via Brooklyn) heading to Minnesota. What do you guys think of this four-team deal? It looks like Rockets is really going for a small ball this time but I don't know how that will work for them with Harden on the ball most of the time. The clear winner for me is Atlanta for getting some reliable bigs but it's probably too late for them this season. Denver has a strong squad already and might have added more depth that will probably help them during playoffs.

Yeah, I would not trade Capela. He is like the savior down the rim whenever Harden cannot find a way to shoot the ball when he penetrates. He will just throw it up and Capela will come flying. What could be the Houston management thinking. Now it will be Trae who will have a good option underneath. He can do hesitation moves or just lob it to Clint. But it needs a lot of chemistry to be done. Maybe next year will be Hawks best season.

There's no close games in the 4 games last night, all the 4 favorites won the game and covered.
Bucks vs Pelicans, - Giannis got another double double and he exposed the Pelicans, looks like Bucks are just too good for them.
Blazers vs Nuggets - Lillard and company can't play well with the defense of the Nuggets, and they just route the Blazers at home, and too bad, Anthony went scoreless.

Nuggets now are very consistent as a team, they are very good at home and at the same time they can also win on the road. They'll be playing again on a back to back game, their next game is against the Utah Jazz which they beat at home, so this could be a big revenge for the Jazz looking at the line, however, I won't buy it, the way the Nuggets are performing, it's not a good idea to bet against them. Nuggets are +8 now, so it says Jazz are really desperate to have a win to break their 4 losing streak.

I got so confused with the four way team deal. Why would Houston give Capella? Just for the 2nd round pick? And Malik Beasley of Nuggets traded too? Just as when he is making some good highlights. The easiest way to summarize what is happening right now is just making a timeline:
10:18 pm MDT: According to Adrian Wojnarowksi of ESPN, the Denver Nuggets have traded Malik Beasley and Juancho Hernangomez to the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of a four-team deal. Credits: https://www.denverstiffs.com/2020/2/4/21123765/nuggets-trade-malik-beasley-juancho-hernangomez-and-jarred-vanderbilt-to-minnesota-in-4-team-dealI think the deal is already done.
