Well if you want a three pointer to be made, Kennard is not a bad option at all.

I know that he is not getting that many minutes because he doesn't have a proper defense, and even with just 20 minutes, he scored 13 points and still was at -6 all game long (to be fair the team as a whole was doing badly until the end) so it shows how horrible his defense is as we already can see with our eyes, so you do not play him that often. But when it comes to a last second three pointer, he is definitely a good guy to choose.

While Luka is doing really well with the Lakers, it’s clearly hurting Dallas right now as they’re starting to tank. A team that was supposed to be a consistent playoff contender suddenly looks like a struggling one.

If they didn’t trade Luka, they would probably still be in the playoff picture, and the team could have improved their chemistry over time, even without Irving due to injury. But now, they just look lost, players blaming each other, and honestly the team feels kind of hopeless.

Just one big mistake really changed everything for them.

If I were a Dallas fan, I think I would’ve lost my mind over the past year.
You already have Cooper; you have a guy like Davis. This could have been a recovery season for Klay as well. All they had to do was maintain a slow pace and prepare for next season.
Instead, they suddenly fell into a ridiculous situation with these trades. They could have started next season with a Davis-Klay-Irving-Cooper quartet but now they’re left with nothing. Cleveland did the exact same thing constantly scrambling just to make the top 8 and now they’re just stuck in mediocrity.

I agree with you on it! For example, Kennard brought the win to his team vs Magic a couple of days ago with a last second 3 pointer.  Smiley

Their win streak of 9 games has come to an end by the way after losing to Pistons by only 3 points last night... Pistons deserved it though.

Still no issue for Lakers as they are the 3rd in their conference! They give hope for playoffs currently.

All good things must come to an end eventually. It's clear that we have seen Lakers did amazing so far, and they barely lost this one, missed a chance that they could have done better. In any case, they just need to fix their three point shooting, I have been saying that all through their streak and now saying it again, this bad shooting will make them lose a lot more.

As a team they went 8/29, and that is not okay, not in todays world where shooting matters so much. Doncic was great, 32 points again and yet he did 3/13 from threes, that is horrible and the most inefficient way of scoring, and others weren't that much better either. I think as long as they keep on being this good, they can get away with it until playoffs, but they gotta do better by that time.

OKC is going to have their work cut out for them in the playoffs. The Lakers and the Spurs are both on fire as the season finishes up. They’re probably going to have to face a real opponent at some point this year… A big change from last year.

For now the playoffs look like below but of course the regular season is still not over. There are still many teams whose places aren't secured yet.

Pistons are still one step forward in comparison to others in Eastern Conference. Thunder and Spurs have opened the gap quite much with others as well in Western Conference.

We will see how things will be in playoffs. I'm still not sure about Pistons to reach the final series. Celtics would be one step ahead if we see Tatum fully recovered. Wink

Lakers aren’t consistent at all. I thought that game vs Detroit would be an easy win since Cade Cunningham wasn’t playing, even if it was on Detroit’s home court.
Feels like there’s a pattern lol. What I mean is, when the Warriors win, the Lakers lose. Funny enough, the Warriors won right when their remaining key player got injured. They also got a bit lucky the Mavs missed that last open shot, which sent the game to OT and helped them win.
Meanwhile, the Lakers couldn’t catch up to Detroit, eventhough they were only down by 3 end of the game..

Before that game, they were already on a 4-game road winning streak, so it’s possible fatigue finally caught up with them. Detroit isn’t really a bad team either, even without Cade. But in a best-of-7 series without Cade, I think the Lakers would handle them easily. Though of course that won’t happen unless both teams meet in the Finals since it’s East vs West.

Next game is still on the road for the Lakers, but they’ll be facing the Pacers, and this one looks like a likely win for them.

They're still 3 games above the Spurs, and 11 games behind LA Lakers which is currently the 3rd seed, so for me, the worst seed that they can get is the top 2, and they'll let the Spurs be the top seed.

Looking at the current standings, and the current 7-10th seeded teams, the best team that they could face in the first round might be the Suns and even the Suns don't have a match against them at least for me, and just by basing on their match-ups this regular season. I don't know for me, but their biggest opponent will be the Spurs, and they will be facing in the Conference Finals, and the Thunder will win it just because the Spurs are inexperience, and we know how experience could be a factor when it comes to the playoffs. I don't see any other West teams that could be on par with the Thunder right now. Spurs is the closest and maybe the Nuggets, but the Spurs are inexperienced and the Nuggets are inconsistent.

Yes, there's a big change because they'll be having a hard time defeating the Spurs and could possibly end up in a 7-game series, but they'll win against them. That's my prediction. Smiley

They won't face early in the play-off so it's good for this big 3, it's on the second round that really going to see if they have what it takes to at least challenge OKC as defending champion. Nuggets is still there as the darkhorse, they still have the former MVP in Jokic and although Murray might be inconsistent, I'm seeing him turning into his prime when playoff comes. So very unpredictable in the West as there are a lot of great teams and each one of them have their MVP candidate. So it's going to be close for sure and it will boils down as who has more heart and then the experience in this kind of situations.

It's funny how the Miami Heat keep on losing their games after the wild 83 points from Bam Adebayo. Their schedule is surely rough against strong opponents like the Magic, Hornets, Spurs, Rockets, and Lakers. To make it worse, their next opponent will be the Cavaliers, and it's a back-to-back road game. They are now on the 10th seed, and although the Bucks (11) might not have a chance to take that spot, it will still be a hassle to beat two opponents in the play-in tournament just to get a spot in the playoffs.

The Charlotte Hornets, on the other hand, are climbing up and are now on their 4th winning streak. They took the Miami Heat's spot for number 9. They are aiming for the 7th or 8th for an easy 1-win seat for the playoffs. The Knicks will be their next opponent.

Charlotte is the team whose games I've been following the most lately.
They had a very bad start to the season, but as the season progressed, especially from January onwards, they found great form. They had an amazing winning streak. The team is made up of very young players and they play very good basketball as a team.
In tonight's game, they beat Sacramento by 44 points, 134-90.
They are one win behind Toronto (5th place) and Atlanta (6th place). There are 10 games left and I think Charlotte will make the playoffs.

OKC is going to have their work cut out for them in the playoffs. The Lakers and the Spurs are both on fire as the season finishes up. They’re probably going to have to face a real opponent at some point this year… A big change from last year.

Ya, I guess they could still get lucky but I don’t think so. I actually think the Spurs have the best chance at advancing to the Finals in the west. The Lakers don’t seem consistent enough and I never thought OKC was a championship worthy team. I guess if they do it again this year I’ll have to admit it wasn’t a fluke.

The main weakness for Spurs line-up is its reliant to Wemby. I’m a Spurs fan for a long time and I acknowledged how great their current roster but still their bench doesn’t have a perfect replacement for Wemby in case he was injured or needs time to rest.

Playoffs game is different than regular season since it’s a straight game 7 against same team that usually counter team weakness. Wemby might put a lot of load when the team decided to counter him with heavy defense on most games.

I hope they will truly advance on Finals because I will ride on them this playoffs.

I also thought that OKC might not repeat itself as a champion this season. But looking at how they started and will be closing the regular season games, they have a great chance to repeat it unless Wemby or any other contender can beat them. Although they have a winning record against OKC, it's going back to zero and everything in the playoff. But I do agree with the experience as a big factor specially in the playoff. San Antonio doesn't have that one, so they might not even go the Western conference finals as I see OKC and the Nuggets going for that.

In the Heat’s remaining games, the only team I think they could beat is the Pacers. Easy first round for the Pistons and Celtics in the playoffs.

That's really their problem also we can add up Fox on the discussion since he also do good for Spurs. If this two is out on the equation Spurs will provably struggle, maybe they experience what Pacers got when Haliburton is gone and they struggle when they lose their stars.

Playoffs is so different, team success gotten by those teams on regular season is different in this level. For sure strategy and rotation level ups then physicality will became more intense. Let see if young players of Spurs can able to handle the vets in that round.

With the way they are playing right now, like what you have said even they manage to move forward to the next round but facing the hot and very competitive Piston it a tough assignment to beat, though we can't remove the fact that upset can still happen as even how good you are if team got an off night chances of losing still possible.

Let see and wait till the next round and see if how the east side will move forward, as those top tier teams are really playing decently.

Yeah, they are on glass cannon run this season since they have a very strong starter line-up.

I just hope their coach will properly rotate the roster to distribute properly game time and avoid injury/exhaustion especially for Wemby.

OKC is still a good contender though but I doubt they can get pass Spurs if ever they will face in playoffs.

OKC is still a good contender though but I doubt they can get pass Spurs if ever they will face in playoffs.

There’s a chance they could face each other in the playoffs, but since the Thunder are in first place and the Spurs are in second place in the standings, they’ll only be able to face each other if they both make it to the conference finals. By the way, that’s a pretty realistic scenario, if neither the Thunder nor the Spurs mess up in the first or second round.
