There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

More exciting news comes the Creditbit way just before the migration. Creditbit came out with its much awaited whitepaper and updated the community about it on Bitcoin Talk. The Creditbit whitepaper is a thorough document which details the entire journey of the platform so far and also painstakingly explains all the new features and developments undertaken or planned as a part of Credit 2.0. The whitepaper starts off with a short summary where Creditbit is described as a relatively young cryptocurrency, developed on an independent Bitcoin-like Blockchain on December 2015. Read moreThanks.

Does anyone have problems with syncing Mist or Ethereum Wallet on Mac? Sync takes forever and the wallet won't work unless synced... (correct?) Therefore new CreditBit tokens won't arrive as well... First: Tokens will arrive to your Ethereum address independently from your syncing. You just won't be able to see them as long as your chain is not synced. Mist has underlying Node, that is fired with Geth. This Geth is somewhat problematic, my sync took forever to finish. Luckily, there is also Parity (Ethcore version of a Node), that can works in a combination with Mist and is 10x faster than Geth. I do the following: 1. I start the Parity with --geth switch: https://github.com/ethcore/parity/wiki/Using-Parity-with-Mist2. Then I start Mist

Yes, you can use Myetherwallet to generate your Ethereum address. Be prudent, backup your accounts and passwords for their encryption.

Migration so far...We have great news, over 100 migration accounts have already been generated on the migration website ( creditbit.org) and are ready for CRBIT deposits. We are sorry for a yesterday short suspension of migration procedure, we had to add new accounts. This kind of response is great, we are amazed and thrilled! ...Stand by!!Soon we will deploy CRB token Smart Contracts on the Ethereum BlockChain - this will create first CRB tokens, that will be transacted on Ethereum accounts, that you provided on the webpage. Stand by, as we will also publish watching address and ABI - you will need this two for CRB token to show in your wallets. We will give you some step-by-step guide for importing this address/ABI in your wallets. Tokens will be locked at first, so no transaction will be allowed. Later, after unlocking, you will need small amounts of Gas (Ether) on your Ethereum accounts to fire any kind of transaction/locking/voting... Important info for all current CREDIT holders before you start your migration here https://www.creditbit.org/startMigration.aspxThe ethereum address must NOT be from your preffered ETH exchange. Eth address must be from an ethereum client https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases or https://www.myetherwallet.com/#generate-wallet. Creditbit 2.0 tokens are ERC20 tokens and when developers release/publish the token contract info you be able to see your token balance on your ehtereum walllet once you "Add token watch info". Before that you will not be able to see your token balance. I also reccomend you put some ETH on that wallet (not alot maybe 0.1 or even less) as you will need it for token transfers. You can read about GAS here so you understand how ethereum works under the hood. https://www.cryptocompare.com/coins/guides/what-is-the-gas-in-ethereum/This info is also written on the migration page so take it seriously. To receive new CreditBit Ethereum tokens you must first generate your own Ethereum address. If you haven’t yet done so, we recommend MyEtherWallet or Ethereum Wallet. Do note if you input your eth deposit address you got from an exchange it will be close to impossible to get your tokens back as exchanges that list ERC20 ethereum based tokens in all cases provide you with a different eth address for the tokens besides the one for the ethereum ETH. Even the devs themselves will not be able to help you if you do it wrong.
