Use your brain, control yourself. Both of those habits will destroy you in the end. There is no exception.

Gambling and smoking indeed are same in addictive condition, but it is different if you compare like this : can gambling for fun? Yes. Can smoking for fun?of course not. "Control" is easy word but it is hard to act like that, it is not a concrete solution. Boht are fun because it depends on the person who's doing it. Now it will only be sad if you lost in gambling and you get disease in smoking. |

well sadly to say most of the time, people with addiction already lose their control and this is why gambling become a bad thing. Nothing is bad unless you overdo it. And when you lose your control, even asking any questions would help you much cause the urge is already there and cant be easily subsided. You will need professional help. |

Don't you think the reason why they got addicted to gambling is because they lost control of themselves? And now you're telling them to 'control' themselves?  It might be easy to say for a normal person to an addict to take control. But control's the very thing that they lost. It doesn't work that way, buddy. If someone's there to help them control themselves, then maybe that 'control' will work. |

You can indeed find some hobbys or something that you like to do but it is really hard to stop gambling because will get really addicted to it but that is not that bad to gamble.
The only thing that you have to do if you are gambling is control yourself and lose not that much money, gambling is only made for fun.
Yup! it is made for fun but if the gambler is really addicted to gambling then he can never control himself he can never control his bets and is always thinking on playing, an addicted person can never say no to gambling even if he likes some other hobbies.
You just have dont find a hobby but you can also do some sports and that is also good for your body and also much cheaper than gambling and also not that wasted.
But find something else with gambling is hard because it is also hard to stop with gambling so you need find something really good to stop with gambling.
If he is not addicted then I think he can just get some other hobbies and activities he would surely like, but in the other way around if he is addicted then I think he can really never stop his betting on gambling. |

I totally agree with this. If you are already addicted to gambling then treat that as a disease that needs to be cure the soonest possible time. Go seek advice from your family, friends, and of course ask guidance from above. |

hi i am getting addicted to gambling.And i am loosing a lot of money.I am loosing what i can't afford to lose.its sad that when you start loosing its just busted me again and again.at last i gamble for fun but now when i am getting addicted i am loosing too much. Any suggestions are welcome  Regards Self-control isn't always easy - but finding another hobby to take your mind off gambling would be a good start. Eventually you'll get used to not gambling - but for things like this you'd be best to go cold turkey and just try and completely quit altogether. Otherwise you might find yourself gambling when you're not meant to (and get into the mindset of gambling to recover losses etc. which just leads to more gambling). Yeah it is not easy to stop with something you are addicted to. First thing you need to do is to be honest and talk to some of your friends and family about your addiction. With people understanding your situation and helping you is going to be allot easier. |

Discipline to your self and learning all about the bad things that gambling can give to a person will help for a person to stay away from it. Well that could help a bit, in some cases or some people maybe scared in losing their money on gambling that is why they are scared of it so they tend to keep away from it, I think that will help in most people but in some case not all are scared in gambling some likes to lose more that to win because of the adrenaline they can get in playing a bet. |
