Hello everyone, registration for the VIII Tipster Championship is now OPEN!
Everything has been updated so you may register on the registration thread.
Here is the link:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1248467.0

We only need to create the schedule for the side competition.
We will let you know when that is ready on this thread.

As for the prizes, it's like u9y42 said. We did use that "format", of prizes adjusted to bankroll, but it didn't work out that well.
Many users registered high bankrolls to have a chance for bigger prizes, but did not even finished the minimum bets required for prizes, probably because they were not comfortable in making bets of 1% to 5% of their declared bankroll.

So for now we will keep everything in the same format, and then we will see if we need adjustments in the future.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

the bigger "bankroll-bigger prize" format didn't work because there only one option big bankroll that time 1,000 mbtc, how if you make more bankroll option like 200mbtc for additional 30% prize , 300 mbtc bankroll for 50% additional prize , and 500% mbtc for 70% additional prize. what do you think fruegreads ?

I'm in 400,000 euros debt , dont help me , i rather die

In relation to increasing the prizes, I'm afraid that won't be done, at least in this round, for the reasons FrueGreads posted above.

Ok so far I still agree with the old format although still hope in the future it may be added  Grin

It seems too late to discuss it registration is already open might be a good idea for the upcoming competition

I will have to discuss it with the team and our sponsor. It will not be done for this competition though, for all the reasons we have mentioned, and because registration is already open.

When will we see info on the side competition?
Will it follow the structure of Olympics or something like that, or will it have a different schedule?

We don't have a date yet, but it will be announced before the main competition starts.
It will probably have 1 week for group phase, and then 3 days for 1/8 Finals, Quarter Finals and Semi Finals, and 1 day for the Final.

For group phase its good have 7 days and final have a day to compete, but why for semi-final 4 days while 1/8 finals and quarter finals only 3 days??

You can make event for best Daily ROI at 1 to 7 august before side competition group stage start..

Since Semi-Final is the last phase to enter the Final, I thought that adding one more day would make things more exciting and balanced, but we can make it three days like the other one. As for another event that would be to much, we already have main competition and side competition.

You can register here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1248467.0

You already have 20 activity, so you probably can make it to Jr member before the registration ends at 8 August, so you will be accepted to the competition if you decide to join us.

We are still deciding that, probably a daily limit would be a good idea. Although remember that we will be using the bonus points format from the playoffs phase, meaning that now only winning correct score bets, and only on Full time will award poins, and just 1 point each.

By default we use Entry1, but we can use another one if you want, you just need to let us know either by pm, or by posting in this thread.

I was checking the leaderboard after I made my first bet and I saw that 98789 (1) is making an offensive approach in this competition.
Really great odds on your bets.

Hey guys. We have just revamped the Hall of Fame thing we've got going in the OP; it should look a little better now, but if you have suggestions on how to improve it further, please let us know. Smiley

Also, I'd like to remind everyone that those of you running tipster threads (and currently in the Hall of Fame) can ask us to include a link to your threads - the only one taking advantage of this at the moment is bitbollo.

Yes I saw it, it didn't went well, but I guess that's one way to use the multi entries. If those bets went well, and at those odds, he would had a great start, and then he could just try to manage with low odds and some "normal" bets. Nothing is lost though. I know this is very early, but I'm seeing some new "faces" in the top7 right now after the first day, like Patrick349 and Want0sell, that are doing some good odds bets. I think this competition will be interesting.

Talking about bad luck today...
First I had a bet live on Zeballos to win 2-0, and he goes to the tie break, is winning 5-4 on tie break, just needs to score two more points on his two services, and just gives it away. It happens I know, but it's still bad luck, but what happened next in the same day is really bad luck I guess.

In the APOEL vs Rosenborg, I had a bet on under 2.5, the game is 0-0 at 90min, and three goals go in on 90+1, 90+6, 90+9 Huh

Oh well, better days will come I guess :/
