Yes, people bitcoin provided anonymity for people who wish NOT to reveal their identity at the time of making payment. For normal people or customer who doesn't mind about revealing their identity, They can use bitcoin as a form of investment. They can keep it in their wallet and benefit from the increasing value in the years to come.

Yes its very hard to convince to the people who are not aware about bitcoins as it is totally new concept for them and at initial stage they find it complicated and also have fear of loosing their money.

It's not only hard to convince people,just because it is new. It's because right now, bitcoin does not have enough benefits. For the average Joe, what is most important is ease of use. Second, it needs to be safe. Third, it needs to be cheap. Well btc has a long way to go before any of that is true for average consumers.

As it stands, the benefits that btc does have right now, make it so that it is only interesting for a much smaller group of people. As btc seems to be rising in price, it is interesting for those of us who have the money to spare and the guts to do some speculating. Btc is also good for transfering large sums of value at low costs (but bad as transfering small amounts of value at low costs). It is also well suited for transfering value to where the regular financial system does not have proper services available (e.g. remittances and some wire transfers between certain countries). All stuff that is not really interesting for the average customer.

The previous poster does make a good point tho. It is also hard because it is new. The market for financial services is very hard to penetrate, especially if your target audience is 'everyone'.

I sometimes wonder it the goal behind this project is still to reach 'everyone'. If the focus is on increasing value and on privacy it will definately miss that goal. Maybe some other cryptocurrency will fulfill the role of being the preferred method of payment for ordinary customers better.

Well that is enough for most people because you don't have to get the identity of the person who you are going to transact and that's why I can say that customer would really be encourage to use with bitcoins. And about the security, we can surely safe that the blockchain technology is really safe, but not the bitcoin wallet provider.

Bitcoin transactions are risky if you are dealing with an unknown person so we should be very careful while buying and selling stuffs with an individual and its always good to go with escrow.

yeah i think new users need something more than anonymity, perhaps you could say that with bitcoin you can get many benefits, and if you use bitcoin as a currency, then you'll get speed, simplicity and generosity of the transaction

I think most online stores today requires a lot of data when you use a bank and a credit card, but if you're using bitcoin, the store was not going to ask anything about the data, of course you can also manipulate the data you because it is not related to bitcoin, users will be interested with that ?

that's right having opportunity to earn while they are only holding it after they bought it will attract them to use bitcoin while informing them as well that the process is anonymously and faster than credit card.
