I refuse to use paypal because of all the little fees that these sites and theire competitors use. Nickle here, nickle there and before you know it you are down 30% of the total. Besides the fact that rules of sign up change frequently and are pages upon pages of garbage to sift through to get to the issue. Meh.

We are merchants and buyers as well and use both BTC and Paypal. Here are few views:
+ Paypal can process almost any credit card around, even those ones we never heard of + Paypal is a system, accounting, reporting, live agents, outright supported by shopping cart - Paypal is susceptible to chargeback even that 95% of them are just plain fraud by buyers where the suddenly don't recognize purchase of merchandise they received and are using as we speak + using Paypal one can buy almost anything on-line + Paypal has reasonable merchant's processing rates - Paypal recently became quite pain in the ass with restrictions refusing many transactions
+ BTC brings most money in, more than almost any other kind of payment + It's fast like hell + easy to receive, check incoming payments - shopping cart we have does not support BTC pricing and processing - it is hard to get cash money out of it - it is easier to get liver transplant than open account at exchange - lately it is more steady but before it was too volatile for merchants to rely on - still only small number of buyers want and can pay by BTC, maybe 5% of our buyers. For the rest 95% Bitcoin is still too complicated, out of reach, impossible to get account at exchange ... - hard to buy BTC
We hope that in future 5% - 95% ratio will swing more towards BTC buyers. So far we received about 50 thousand CAD in BTC and with Paypal that net amount would be more like 48.5k. Looking from pure net perspective BTC is clear winner. However, if would be accepting BTC only we would close the doors long time ago. Buyers with Bitcoin are still in scarce supply.

paypal is way better for now as most people use it and you can shop online with it
And what is your reason to think that Paypal is much better than Bitcoin? There is also a lot of people using Bitcoin, and it can be used to shop online too. Paypal and Bitcoin are both 'almost' the same thing, IMO.

Paypal and Bitcoin are both 'almost' the same thing, IMO. Paypal is a quick peer-to-peer fiat transfer service with fairly noticeable fees, while Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency platform with low fees and the ability to earn the currency simply by participating in the network. I wouldn't call them almost the same thing, but I guess they do have their similarities.

I myself do mostly find myself at liking Bitcoin more because of the fact that it allows for faster/safer online transactions from stores and online peers rather than PayPal. It opens up a whole new system of giving money to others that is both untraceable and secure, it's in a new niche of its own, which makes it a lot better.
I think it's safe and secure. for safe I prefer to paypal. they provide a guarantee if you cheated or something and protection for users. different with bitcoin. if you buy items in the store and they tricked and scammed you. you can not do anything? you can only regret it

Personally Even I prefer Bitcoin than Paypal, because using bitcoin we enjoy many features not available with the Paypal, and also with Paypal there is the chargeback risk, As you said bitcoin is accepting all the way in online shops! which isn't possible if we use Bitcoin

Paypal is a big NO. It limits your account and then you will not be able to use your money until 180 days. Bitcoin does not have this kind of thing. And also paypal's payment is reversible, unlike with bitcoin, once the payment is sent there's no dispute.

What are your opinions on paypal or bitcoin for online shopping?
They're basically the same when you're only talking about shopping, both pp and btc via bitpay get confirmed instantly. The main difference to buyer/holder is that paypal can limit your account and freeze your money, where with bitcoin that cant happen. If my a/c is banned by the bitcoin forum, so what will be done with my money???

i always prefer bitcoin for online purchasing, rarely i use paypal, the only reason i use paypal is that it sponsors special discounts for customers who shop with it at selected retailers. we can visit www.paypal-shopping.com and can find the latest special offers from companies like HP, Barnes & Noble, Wal-Mart, Nike and more.

I agree with U & also prefer bitcoin for online purchasing bcoz its cheaper and reliable thn paypal...but, most of the online shops accept paypal but not bitcoin...

Bitcoin is much better: No chargeback , Low fee, Pseudonymuos , Faster, No need to login anywhere just send directly from wallet.
I hate payment windows, my browser is always messing around with them.
It's just much better if you send with bitcoin

That is the reason I like bitcoin. I do not need to use a bank to send my money. It is very convenient.

I prefer the bitcoin because you can easily pay with the bitcoin itself and it has a lot of good features, plus the bitcoin is also self controllable.

Bitcoin is good but I think paypal is also pretty good compared with the bitcoin you cannot get your money back with paypal this is possible. The advantage from bitcoin is that its easy to use and also very fast and it can not get limited.
