I know this is off topic, but I have to ask.  I'm just to curious.

CfB, how is it that your activity count never increases?  I noticed this about a day a go.  Your count seems to be locked in at 1050.  With every new post, are you deleting an old one??? O_o

..or do I simply misunderstand how this BTT BBS works?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0

I always go see that when i forget how activity works.

There is advanced control of transfers. An easier way is to send all money back to yourself to a certain address, the next transaction will go from it.

So if i understand the easy way correct:

1. I make a payment (lets say 1 btc) from my bitcoin core wallet
2. Check which "from" address my wallet used. Let's say 1xxx.
3. Then make a payment from my bitcoin core wallet to this address 1xxx (see step 2)
4. Then follow the instruction of the site to make the specific "second" payment of 0,000xyz BTC and my bitcoin core wallet will use address 1xxx

One more question about step 3 (see above) to be sure:

Must i send all the remaining amount of btc in my bitcoin core wallet to address 1xxx or can it be a small part of it (enough to pay the specific amount of 0,000xyz btc)?

As long as you own the private key, you can ALWAYS make it right. I am sure that the team behind IOTA wouldn't deny your share even if it means signing a transaction with a second address etc. They are just trying to minimize the amount of manual work involved with the distribution and maybe even discourage 'noobs' from investing in a high risk project. /Correct me if I'm wrong.

Okidoki,
made up my mind and looking to stay at 2% of IOTA through the sale. Thank you all for the civilized discourse and information.

Even with that explanation, a VERY large portion of all NXT (70%) became the property of VERY few people.

That's true. Well, thank you anyway for visiting us.

Oh I am not saying IOTA might not be successful or a bad investment. Just not a huge fan of NXT.

I do have a question. At December 22nd, when delivery of IOTA's is expected (If I am not mistaken) does the team plan on promoting listing on exchanges and allow for organized trading of tokens?

I haven't seen this answered yet.  I would hope you have a plan to promote Iota and get it listed on exchanges.  People that didn't know about Iota or did not feel comfortable investing in the ICO will want an opportunity to buy.

Also, what are the plans for a GUI based wallet and when can we expect to see that?

Thanks

Then proceeded to funnel $700 worth of "donations"? into the same destination address like a moron because he did not read the fine print.

Is there really a "1 transaction only" restriction on this ICO that everyone here knows about and never mentioned?

The 15% bonus crowdsale ends soon, and I need to make sure I know the rules before I make any "donations"

The rules of this ICO seem to get more confusing as the deadline nears, and I'm trying to figure out weather to use BTC core or blockchain.info

 Huh

But one thing is for certain, I will only be making 1 single transaction to avoid the dreaded "donation" clause.

The early bird may get the work but the second mouse gets the cheese

There is no "1 transaction only" restriction. If you send less than 0.001 BTC by accident you can do the same trick - send few extra satoshis to bump the amount to 0.001+.

GUI part will run in a browser. In a week or two I'll publish screenshots to ask for a good color scheme, right now it's being designed as monochrome.

PS: The other questions are for iotatoken user.

Getting IOTA listed on exchanges is the least of our concerns for the near future, like stated in the terms and risk document. We are concerned with making the best IoT payment protocol and getting it adopted in the real world. The exchanges will decide by themselves, I know several are interested and keeping a keen eye on IOTA. I see no reason why they would NOT add it.

If people can't see that the video was posted two years ago and is nowhere related to the creation of a DAG cryptocurrency, then perhaps they shouldn't be throwing their money on things they don't really understand.

I'm not going to make any specific recommendations until you are ready, however, I would like to make a huge request that you integrate two variations of the same color schema-- one light variant, and one dark.

It's been my experience that most users, generally, prefer brighter interfaces, while a smaller subset (which includes myself) suffer rather strained eyes when staring at white interfaces for hours upon hours.  Every black/dark interface we can look at provides a few minutes of rest before we have to return to looking at the garish, bright-hued wash of most applications.

A Personal Quote on BTT from 2011:
"I'd be willing to make a moderate "investment" if the value of the BTC went below $2.00.  Otherwise I'll just have to live with my 5 BTC and be happy. :/"  ...sigh.  If only I knew.
