Greetings,

I am having issues with syncing my Windows 64bit wallet.

Tried all the guides but still the process is painfully slow.

For example, after waiting 12 hours and using Bootstrap.dat method, I am only at around 10% of syncing. Is that normal? I even tried with and without internet, still, the speed is VERY slow.

Can you advise what I can do to speed up the sync process? Thanks!

I already downloaded my wallet, but I have not installed it yet.
Where did you find the Bootstrap file? thanks.

Here is the guide for bootstrapping method: https://forum.pivx.org/t/wallet-syncing-issues-and-resolution/1194

Stake United Staking Pool

I'm staking with the Stake United pool now for several weeks. I almost doubled the stake within one month. I tried to stake alone with the wallet only, but I made much more profit with the  Stake United pool.

The pool is totally reliable! Reward time is a lot shorter when you stake together with the pool.

Link: Stake United

Do not send these types of sites your coins!

Any site that requires you to transfer your coins to them for staking is most likely a scam.

In my opinion, hiding a referral link is scammy also. Not that I opened an account in this case, I tend to agree with LemonAndFriesOne in questioning the validity. But I would never use someone's referral link that was not disclosed as being a referral link. I am more inclined to open an account when use of a referral link is upfront because I respect the honesty.

Just my 2 PIVX!

PIVX is to gather people's own resources, energy and ideals. I heard that PIVX's project team includes talented programmers, professional project administrators, some of them are novice of encryption technology, and some of them are long-term users of encrypted currencies since the advent of bitcoin.

What is PIVX strength compared to such like Monero?

Both are good projects. Privacy-wise, I'd say they're comparable. XMR uses ring signatures whereas PIVX uses Zerocoin protocol. One big difference is that PIVX is PoS whereas XMR is PoW. Philosophically, PIVX tries for more utility as an actual currency (fast block times, fast tx speed and confirmation, and low fees), whereas XMR is more focussed on security 'at all costs'. Some other strengths of PIVX include its use of a 'see-saw' mechanism to dynamically adjust rewards between masternoders and stakers, fair community governance, and the fact that fees on the network are burned (i.e., as transactions on the network increase, the total supply will remain relatively flat and could even decrease if zPiv transactions, which are more expensive, become very common). The PIVX community is also very strong (mostly on Discord, but to a lesser extent on Reddit as well).

You can see a full comparison here: https://pivx.org/how-pivx-stacks-up-in-the-privacy-realm/

I'd also suggest checking out PIVX's current roadmap to see what other plans are in development/planning: https://pivx.org/what-is-pivx/roadmap/

Thank you for an excellent summary. It's my crash course to learning more about PIVX. Smiley
