I think paying the taxes is necessary . Goverment needs some funds to protect you.

That's what they want you to think!
Are you some molested child or something? What do you need to be protected from?

The government works by creating a false sense of insecurity and demanding people to work and pay to allow the country to face this imaginary threat. It's just like mafia when they tell you need to pay for protection. If you don't they send someone to break your window and make you feel insecure, willing to pay...

Are you going to pay taxes on your Bitcoin profits?

Suppose you make a million dollars. Suppose you have already made a million dollars. Are you going to hand half of that cash over to the government? Of course, this is assuming you convert your coins into federally recognized cash. If your only intention is to amass a huge supply of Bitcoins, the question does not apply to you.

You're supposed to pay income taxes. It seems rather easy to get away with not doing it, though... at least in this case.
Yes ,tax should be given

I will not, because it is not mandated by the law yet. It's good to pay taxes because taxes are used for government projects and social development. However, we are aware that some taxes are not spent well. Some are stolen by government officials that are too greedy.

I'll try every trick just to NOT pay taxes, of course in any "legal" way :-)
Big corporations do this all the time.

Isn't it absolute madness how that works? The person with more money can find more loopholes and in the end they get more money as a result. The person with less money can't pay lawyers and accountants a like to look at law all day and therefore suffers the whole force...what a fair system we live in.

Actually you don't need to be a big corporation to do that, all you need to do is to find a good tax practitioner or an accountant that is really good when it comes to taxation, tax is a law and government gives us some option and every somewhere in law there is always a glitch or some kind of loophole and that is how tax minimization is started and it is legal in any way.

You are required to pay taxes, the IRS will come after you and get their money. I would of course try to get paid in Bitcoin so therefore it is not taxable, but I know as soon as I change it over to fiat, they will come knocking!

Taxes are a nice way for the government to give school and medical help to those who need it. There is a lot which the government needs to make your roads and libraries, but I agree it could be managed in a better way, and not just be controlled by powerful people.

At least in my country there has been no legislation on this, and I would have no problem paying some taxes as long as they allow me to live in peace and earn enough to live a decent life.

Do you think govt is a God? If yes, you can pay taxes. If not, its members are impostors and bandits (mafia), who deserve only bullet in the head!

If for the progress of the country, the tax will always be obeyed. Grin
Non-profit & charitable organizations (funded voluntary through donations) provide much more progress for the society than government.

Exchanges send information to the tax authorities about cryptocurrency being cashed out.

It's a policy of the government to impose taxes. Every people received income should be subject to tax. That tax will be use by the government like free tuition in public school, subsidized medicines in public hospitals, making infrastractures such as roads and brigdges. Therefore we need to pay taxes.

Here is the irony. I am living in India and only 1.5% of the population paid their income tax last year. The remainder claimed that they didn't had any taxable income (agricultural income is not subject to taxation). The government is not providing free education, at least not at the college level. And we have to pay toll tax to use the roads.
