If internet goes down BiTcoin will simply replace it. Don't you know that Blockchain is operating independently and you can just connect your computer to it and use it however you like, you can even gamble and watch movies using Blockchain as your primary browser.

Mate if the Internet goes down the Blockchain will go down with it because no one would be able to broadcast their transactions over the Internet and no one will get any confirmations because no node would be able to see it. I don't understand what you meant by using Blockchain as a primary browser at all  Shocked Huh

if the internet will be gwt down then bitcoin will also down because without internet you can't use bitcoin and transfer to anyone since its an digital currency not a real in that case you need to do face to face trade with your local currency or with any precious/expensive metal

One of the option with us is that, the banks and governments adopt uᴉoɔʇᴉq, so when the internet gone down, there will be a way to go to related bank and government to ask for their money. Like master and visa cards.
if that is true, then all will be fine. but the fact that the internet is one of the important points which build bitcoin far. fast internet makes bitcoin transaction to be faster, so if the internet is down, so is bitcoin. because I think the Internet is the heart of bitcoin, but it's all just my thoughts

I think that much of the daily bitcoin exchanging action doesn't happen on full nodes anyway....For example, transactions can take place thru the use of proximity wireless transfer technologies (point to point) and be parsed into the ledger later.  As long as the ledger isn't corrupted by the event, I don't see why transactions still couldn't occur at a local level.  I mean, in such a scenario, people won't be conducting business thru the postal services anyway....everything would have to be locally accumulated.  Right?

face to face trades? Of course there must be a way to broadcast the transaction anyways. And as said on previous topics, if there is no internet service, we probably have bigger things to worry about.
I'm not sure it will work. what if the city a trader lives in is far from the buyer? it will charge more in transportation. so people will think twice or even more.

if internet goes down, I think the only answer is uᴉoɔʇᴉq is about die, and gonna die.
Yes, if we read the concept of bitcoin then we will find that it was invented for internet use , so if internet dies means that bitcoin is also died with it and after that there is no need of bitcoin, and a large loss will occur.

If the internet goes down, Bitcoin is rendered useless, you pretty much can't do anything. But I doubt that the internet will ever go down, as in like fully shutdown across the whole world.
Not only Bitcoin would go down but every other website and companies that make use of the internet. If the internet would go down today total chaos would break lose.

given the cayos happening in the world i wouldn't be surprised of nuclear war and in this case i would expect internet disruption question is what happens to Bitcoin if internet goes down?

home internet and mobile internet goes down

do not mean trade bitcoin to buy/sell i mean using it as a way of payment say you wanted to send money to someone abroad for family far away

Thats all your imaginations, because this day will never come, but your answer is, of course when internet has die, so bitcoin also die, because bitcoins and just like other online currencies also has no fisical appearance, so no one has bitcoins in cash,no online trading, no bitcointalk, so everything has been finished.

I think it will be very bad for the uᴉoɔʇᴉq because the uᴉoɔʇᴉq is fully based on a network there is no offline system or something like other currency's.
Most likely if that happens for a long time it will destroy the uᴉoɔʇᴉq for sure without any doubts.

I think it won't destroy bitcoin but freeze it. Because all marketing companies use internet therefore nothing will rise or down. And it's unlikely to happen though. So, we don't have to worry.
Than Bitcoin will disappear I think and that will be not good for Bitcoin because internet is the most important thing in Bitcoin so the chance that it will happen is small.
You also can see that Bitcoin is getting more popular and that is nice because you see that it is also more acceptable.

Yes bitcoin will disappear because for a person to use bitcoin a person must be connected to the internet and without internet bitcoin would be useless.

If the internet was going down Bitcoin would just go down with it, its that simple. There are so many companies that rely on the internet so not only Bitcoin would go down.
It would be dramatic for so many people and companies in the world.

What will be replaced by bitcoin. I believe above mate says that internet will be replaced by Blockchain technology. If this happens also without networking nothing is gonna be effective.

that will be a great development of bitcoin, if it remained independent of any internet connection, there must have a system which is being used by VISA and MasterCard.

If the internet would go down it would be a disaster for everyone and not only for Bitcoin. I would not even care about Bitcoin if the internet is going down but more about other stuff on the internet.

Yeah mate if the Internet goes down for real chances are we would be having very serious problems in the real world and no one would care much about Bitcoin because we may have things like a war or a global catastrophe or an alien invasion for example looming over us  Cheesy

That's the downside of using bitcoin, when there is no internet, your transaction cannot be processed..But as of this time, there are only few spots in the world that has no internet, not like before way back 90's that majority of the world still has poor knowledge about computer and internet..

In that cases I also have fear of lose of bitcoin, if any war occur then the internet technology will definitely disrupted and in that case we will be thrown far away from our bitcoins and will lose our wealth.
