what happens to Bitcoin if internet goes down?

I just came here to laugh,look at all the shit posts around.Didn't expected it to be this bad.If the internet goes down,there would be no transactions at all,what would miners do? Sit idle until there is a transaction to hash ? Bitcoin network would still be alive and the coins would remain right where they were until the internet comes back.

yes you are right they will defiantly find a way to restore it. but what about the data that is stored in the internet server. i think it will put a very bad image not only on bitcoin but on so many other business of the world.

bitcoin production would surely go down but after the war ended it could start to grow again it would depend on those who still believe and a fanatic of it. But as of now lets just hope it would not happen

Besides, there are many bitcoins as well that are being kept in servers that are actually under real security servers with real, outifitted and gunned people guarding them.

The only problem would then be is whether internet would stay down or not, but it's highly unlikely that the internet would stay down for a long time as communication is now vital to humanity's survival.

The Internet can go down if there is no electricity any more. For example there is a TV show exploring this concept where people live in a post-apocalyptic world with no electricity trying to survive.

As I've said before, bitcoin becomes  worthless as soon as you get outside of a wifi field. But if the entire internet of things is down, well, I think we have more important issues than bitcoin at that moment.

Yeah and if internet goes down forever in future then I think it will be an end of bitcoin too as bitcoin is totally dependent on internet and if it happens then people will loose all their saved coins.

i do kinda worry about this but I dont think it can be brought down entirely.  Maybe one government of a large country could shut it down and it may affect the price but for a world wide internet shut down, that would be scary as hell.

yeah, that is scary but also it is not real. some things are scary like getting hit by a meteor as you are walking down the street but that doesn't make them come true and there is no need to worry about it either.
in case of internet, it will only go down in case a nuclear war happens and all humanity is annihilated!

If all of that happens it is still not the end of the world. We are just not used to it. The world did start without electricity and it will still live without it actually it is the one who is making it die.
Bitcoin is just a dot in all of that. It can happen but not soon.
