Hmmm... I think we should be more ambitious... Bitcoin: Global currency of the Earth, the Moon, the Mars... the Universe!
are you serious? bitcoin as currency of the universe will be possible as long as there are creatures over universe who know to use bitcoin. if it's just in earth, maybe it's possible as long as many people promote bitcoin and of course it will take long time |

It is pretty sad when I see the inflation is good for currency myth propagated, even between economists. For sure inflation is good for the ones in debt, thus ideal for governments ! But for savers, inflation is terrible and deflation suits them much better. So you have two sides here and saying one is better for currency is ridicilous. By the way, Bitcoin solve this because the final supply is constant, not increasing or decreasing. I'm not sure if that's correct; given an infinite amount of time the Bitcoin supply would approach 0 as all the private keys are lost or destroyed. This however isn't a problem as a single satoshi can be infinitely subdivided to meet demand.

The satoshi is currently the smallest unit of the bitcoin currency recorded on the block chain Without a side-chain(not sure if its possible even with one), sending less than a satoshi is not possible Edit: Also, a change in Bitcoin protocol also known as a hard fork can allow mining of coins more than 21 million, |

Some people dont even know what Bitcoin is and that is a big problem. I hope more people will use Bitcoin in the future.
It is true that bitcoin is not properly publicized and embraced by the masses. Only few people know it and are using it. It will only become a global currency once it has more than 75% reach globally. |

Bitcoin has many advantages that could make it the global dominating legal tender, but for some reasons it's not yet. On the other hand we have an USD - currency accepted almost everywhere in the world, but it was meant to be just national mean of payment. Bitcoin supporters should consider wider spectrum of factors before announcing such things like title of this thread (which I wish to become true!).

You are right that there are a lot of currency's bigger, but you have to keep in mind that the bitcoin itself is one of the fast growing currency's of the century. I think that says already enough and we can say it would be possible but it will take years to even do this but its 100% possible! |

Yeah, and the reason is there are maximum users of fiat and fiat is more popular then bitcoins, bitcoin will be more popular in future, but I don't think it can go beyond fiat, as people find fiat easy and convenient. |

Yes nowadays fiat still till now the global currency of earth, but there is no guarantee that will continue forever, and Bitcoin's is growing daily so i think it's really possible that Bitcoin become the global currency worldwide |

Fiat has its own characteristics and uses, but I haven't see any fiat currency which is more than 100% higher than US dollar that makes it amazing.. |

We never know what can happen later in the future. So that is quite hard to predict. And that is not good.
Many people doesnt even know what Bitcoin is. And some people doesnt even trust Bitcoin and that is also not good. You must first find safety and popularity.

It is a global currency due it's decentralized nature of existence and it may be a real boost to developing countries and their economies as many people don't have access to banking in a regular way. Bitcoin can replace banks in places where there are none.
