Looking at the current scenario paypal is better than bitcoin.
As all the firms which involve online trading / transaction have an option PayPal in them
But till not only starbucks and Steam have accepted bitcoin as a mean of payment.
But in the near future there is a possibility of bitcoin over coming PayPal.
But we can never predict.

PayPal is not at all the preferred payment option in most of the countries. There are some countries who actually hate using PayPal for it's hefty fee structure. Whereas Bitcoin takes negligible fees, Yes, I do agree that Bitcoin is yet to be implemented in many stores across the world but still the priority of the people is shifting towards Bitcoin than PayPal.

Each person has their preferences it depends on them. If someone is looking for a particular feature that the bitcoin doesn't have

they will go to paypal. Both has a pros and cons that is why determining who is better for all people is impossible but we can

determine it for general people only. It will be nice if there is a poll not here but to some general forums because most people

here loves bitcoin the outcome is already predictable. Although it can wait till everyone is familiar with bitcoin.

Chargeback feature is not as the same as cash back, keep in mind about that, and yeah it's right that chargeback is impossible due to irreversible characteristic of bitcoin transaction, so there's nothing to worry about even if it's could help the buyer to be more safe and secure but not so good for the sellers. But about the speed of the transaction, bitcoin is still beaten by PayPal if you're considering those confirmation as a thing.

any type of payment certainly have weaknesses and strengths of each. but for me in the future we need a more sophisticated means of transaction. bitcoin is an advanced technology that could be developed for the future.

I understand both are not equal because paypal is payment processor and bitcoin is currency. Right now paypal has many rules and regulation where as bitcoin don't have any rules and regulation. Right now many stores accept paypal,but where as bitcoin only few stores are accepting. More over paypal will not provide their service to all countries and bitcoin is acceptable through out the world. There is huge difference between paypal and bitcoin how can we compare both of them.

big company like paypal won't getting involved into such attempts unless they got million of dollars, it's probably just usual phishing email and email can be faked, so just don't blindly trusting email which come to your mailbox, even some people out there be able to make an email which custom sender, it's just how you aware with the email you just received

You have a point regarding on confirmation basis because Ive used paypal wayback before and transfer is really an instant on paypal and it really differs from bitcoin which do really need to be confirmed by the network to complete the transfer but I would still like to use bitcoin no matter what that's why I don't use paypal anymore because I do see features of bitcoin that paypal doesn't have.

You are right I was also once a fan of paypal and wanted t get a full verified paypal for my online work and then I was introduced about bitcoin and when I started my work with bitcoin I forget about paypal and now I do not think to get any paypal account.

For me they are just equal because bitcoin has no other feature that available in paypal. also the other part you can reverse your tranasction unlike in bitcoin that there is no way to reverse the payment once you send you will never receive it..
Bitcoin we are making good profit everytime the price of bitcoin is increasing ..

It is never ending discussion and this thread will probably go on forever like that. What people fail to realize is that Bitcoin and PayPal serve slightly different purpose.
Both can complement each other: if you need consumer protection and are more into official means of payment - then you use PayPal. For everyone else bitcoin is far more interesting choice.
Don't argue which system is better, just use the one you like the most.

So what do you want it to have? very loose? No, that's not how to run a payment system. You should protect both of your client, bet it the buyer or the merchant. Your reputation will be ruined if your service sucks and you didn't do anything to protect them.

I agree on your statement on which paypal does have its own limitations regarding on the area of their service which is not good at all but still its being used commonly when bitcoin isnt created yet and regarding on the fees on paypal we could really say that it is high compared to bitcoin thats why when bitcoin launched it does really beat paypal regarding on this matter.

just wondering if it's from those freelancers perspective, just in case if in the future bitcoin will be available for payment processing option for those freelancing websites, the freelancers will prefer bitcoin over paypal or the opposite, since both already have its advantage hence it might be a really complicated decision
