According to some speculators price spike of bitcoin is approaching with the halving. Take a look at this graph and comment if that price of $21k is realistic for you?

Your vote thanks  Grin
I think this is not going to happen soon.Although I am very optimistic that btc price will go that high but in my opinion it will touch 10000$ in next five years.bitcoin  investor Tim Draper has made some interesting predictions back in 2014 and according to him btc will be 10,0004 in 2017 http://www.newsbtc.com/2014/09/24/tim-draper-predicts-10000-bitcoin-three-years/

This is just silly really

I don't think bitcoin will reach this amount this year or ever even.

I hope you're not serious about having these expectations.

I don't think you fully understand how small bitcoin is now, and how big it can be.

These are all big ifs, in the end of the day.
For now, I don't see the five digit price in US $ happening before the halving in 2021. Not enough development to push for mass adoption, which is needed if we want to talk about such a price. Unless something really fundamental, happens I don't see that coming in the next five years at least.

1200 was a big if in 2010-2011 but it happened, simply because the odds were pro increasing

So you're saying there's still a chance this year? Nice.

There is no point to talk about $10,000 now. If it is a joke, then it is ok. Bitcoin will never reach $1000 this year. As per market things happening around the world, bitcoin needs huge boost and other high speculations to move the price to that high. Expecting a range between $500 and $700 is reasonable for 2016. More speculations will lead to huge loss later. Imo, It is better to day trade and take profits daily, even if it is small.

NO, i don't think there will be any chance to support 10000 price by this year. Even crossing 1000 will be hard.

I do not think so. Once bitcoin is testing $1000 price levels, it will attract many new investors from various sectors like alternate type seeking investors, employers to pay their employees and many more. When new money started getting invested into bitcoin, prices will go even one million dollars also.

Bitcoin has to have some reason to sustain further growth. Like any other asset, it cannot grow infinitely without having strong (fundamental) support and/or mass adoption. And that is still clearly missing, if you look to the world outside of this forum. For now, most of the recent rises were purely speculative bubbles (also called p&d) and if the history repeats couple of more times, people may get bored with it before we get to five digits territory.

i agree with you that there is absolutely no need to talk about the price reaching $10,000, but saying it will never reach $1000 this year is another thing. i do believe that 2016 is the year that we can break through the much wanted $1000 level again. i don't say we will stay above $1000, but there is a high chance to touch it due to the block halving. also, if the stock markets and oil prices keep crashing, then we can expect a good rally as bitcoin will be the safe haven for people who are stepping out of stocks.

If we think about reality, Bitcoins can double or triple the current amount but it can never reach $10,000. Even if the market demand increases, still to achieve this amount is practically impossible. Bitcoin price is quite high now and I do hope it does reach atleast $1000 soon but it's better to keep our expectations low.

It did rise upto $1200-$1300 but the question here is did it remain stable at that price for a long time? It can increase upto $10,000 and then it will fall again making so many users to lose their investments and thousands of dollars. It should be stable at that amount and then only we can think about bitcoins getting legalized and adopted.

Too soon, way too soon. I don't think bitcoin will hit 10.000 by this year. Or even this decade.

I believe it will take another 10 - 20 years for bitcoin to be able to reach this amount of value.

Even I thinking same. It's just a crazy question from op. According to one of close friend, he is working on speculation every time. Based on him bitcoin will hit, 10000 $ in the year of 2068. I don't know I will alive or not also on that. It's waste being think about just live for present.

i would wish for April 2016, however depends on what the fiat market goes; if it crashes, then the bitcoin rises, if not then it seems not to be possible. i would believe at least 500 around this month. Smiley

out of ability to use the signature, i want a new ban strike policy that will fade the strike after 90~120 days of the ban and not to be traced back, like google | email me for anything urgent, message will possibly not be instantly responded
i am not really active for some reason

I would say it is better if it is stable at the current price and doesn't moves a lot.The price in OP is just not realistic and cannot be achieved with this popularity rates.,more than 80% of the people voted longer' ..lol
