I've been reading through this forums for the past few weeks and all I see is "this coin is dead" or "everything is a shit coin". Is there any alt coin with potential to invest in or is it only bitcoin? I don't mean like a few here and there, I mean over 100 coins.

I did research but I wanted to get information from other people and then made a decision. I guess I have a different understanding of what a forum is.

I would say Candlecoin which I'm promoting in my avatar  The volume went from 0.05 BTC from a few days ago to like 2 BTC on c-cex yesterday. Price went from like 5 sats to 20 sats too. |

Go to coinmarketcap.com and read into the top 100 there. You can then choose what is of interest to you for speculative/investment purposes.

Yes some altcoins are. But most are not recommend to invest in. Do research on your own to find good investments.
I would recommend NEM and Ethereum.

Well, thats really a tough thing to answer. It seems lately even alot of the 'good' coins are dying out or losing community support. I think MaryJaneCoin, PotCoin, Dashcoin, and JoinCoin are possible good coins for a long term investment.

Well, thats really a tough thing to answer. It seems lately even alot of the 'good' coins are dying out or losing community support. I don't follow the altcoins much anymore. They attained their hour of fame, made a few people wealthy, made a lot of people poorer. People lost interest and those who got burned left the scene. I rarely see an altcoin listed as a payment option. I do see bitcoin. Are there any altcoin communities/developers actively pounding on doors trying to get their coin accepted by business? They lose interest after they sell a few million coins. Instead, they build a new coin with bigger and better promises hoping people will flock to buy. |

You will get useless answers is what I meant. Anyone holding a specific alt will say theirs is the best etc... If you read through and still can not decide just hold your BTC/fiat or whatever. |

no. 100's ? ..there is thousands of coins = they are all garbage. when the new forum comes out soon they just delete the whole fucking ANN section !
EDIT:I will literally grab some cash and light it on fire before i buy any faggy shit coins.. ALTCOINS ARE DEAD IDIOTS ! wake the fuck up it's 2016 guys. Think i am kidding ? There is no definite answer to your question as everyone has different ideas on what makes a good investment. All i can say is to do research and invest in coins in which you see potential, remember just because a coin is feature rich does not mean that it will succeed NXT being a prime example. Personally i am invested heavily in bitcoin, litecoin, peercoin and dogecoin as these tend to follow each other when BTC price increases. They are also some of the oldest altcoins around and have considerable staying power. They are also all in the top ten at coinmarketcap.
Apart from those i am also invested in primecoin, foldingcoin and namecoin. Namecoin and primecoin have great potential if they can be developed further. Foldingcoin uses pow mining to find cures for diseases so my investment in that is more of a donation to miners. I was also invested in dash at one time but after a lot of scam accusations against the devs and my own research i decided to sell as it might be a scam, it's price over the last 3 months has also tanked 40% and that further contributed to my decision to dump dash.
All in all do your research, buy coins, put them away and hope the price goes up. It's all or nothing in the crypto game.

In the beginning i had as well all kind of altcoins, maybe 40 or more.
I hoped as well one day the price should go up.
I have been staying away for about half a year, because i had too much work with building a house for my daughter and when i look now, i see that a lot of these coins even don't exist anymore. They seem to be "dead" as people say. Some have stayed, but mostly is the price/btc going down.
I have decided to sell almost all my coins for BTC. I think personally this is the best. I find it too difficult to follow or see when a coin might be good in the future or not.
