In some cases and in some countries yes. That bitcoin cannot replace fiat because they still needed it.Countries that are banning bitcoin in their country is a reason why fiat is still needed.Proper introduction and use of bitcoin for them can be a factor in order that bitcoin be used.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

So true. Bitcoin will not replace the fiat because fiat is still needed for people who are not familiar with bitcoin. Bitcoin already has a place in the crypto world.

i think it is wrong, bitcoin can replace the fiat money in the future but yes it will take a time to replace but it does not means that bitcoin can not. the fait money is now get a value in the market of the world and the bitcoin is a new rising currency while passing the many stages at very good result. there is wiat to become bitcoin legal than it will replace the fiat money easily.

Many users convert Bitcoin to Fiat, because they don't have the other opportunities to spend their money. If you ask them what they would prefer, most of them are likely say that they would like to use bitcoins to pay daily expenses. Some users say that bitcoin is unstable, and it is true somehow, but many prefer to store value in bitcoin than in Fiat currency, especially in countries where the local currency is very unstable.

This is an investment, people are not inclined to spend bitcoins, because their price is growing and the quantity is limited, bitcoin and does not pretend to replace the fiat money, it will be able to do the altcoyins! People spend fiat money because their price is gradually falling and there is no point in saving them! This generally drives the economy, the inflation engine of our economy......

Of course bitcoin will not replace fiat, but in my opinion bitcoin can certainly run side by side with fiat.

Yes, got you intrigued, didn't it?

Bitcoin is a very good thing to have as an asset. Just like gold. Even better if I may say. It's secure, and unlike fiat money it actually exists and work is put into it to produce it. This makes it great to store value.
However, it cannot and will not replace current fiat money that the entire world it using. It just cannot.
Take paying a cup of coffee for example. To pay your coffee with bitcoins, one must get bitcoins first, either by mining or buying bitcoins with other kinds of money (*cough*fiat*cough). It ends up being a quite complicated process, don't you think?
Until we reach the point where paying for a cup of coffee is as easy with Bitcoin as it is with cash, we will never get mass adoption. And as far as I see it, there is no way of simplifying the acquiring of bitcoins.
If I am think highly doubt as well that it will ever replace fiat, although a similar currency as bitcoin may become the standard in the future. This is already being talked about, by many in the financial elite circles. I don't believe it will be a good thing, although if it is controlled by a central, global authority. That is a dangerous thing, very dangerous thanks for attention.

Bitcoin is a way to stockpile money like gold and its value is greater than gold but the risk it brings is extremely large. No one knows when it can end.

Becoin is not struggling to replace faint money, bitcoin and and faint are two different things but the both are currencies but perform different functions but are closely related. Faint is our primary currency which exist in our grassroot domain while bitcoin is our secondary currency and exist in our online community. So we can take faint money away from us at the same time can't do without bitcoin as long as we want to connect with the rest of the world in carrying out our financial transactions.

While it is true that probably the most important motivations to build up this alternate forex was to defeat the fiat hegemony, really it seems a very far and nearly impractical possibility.I am hoping the long term financial relationships rely on much more humanistic options rather than these current risky and market reliant currencies, included bitcoin.

Bitcoin and fiat both are two different concept both not compliment each other. Bitcoin is for those who using technology (internet) where it wont be reachable to the poor people not afford the technology. And its transaction fees is high also no retailer accepting bitcoin how we can expect bitcoin to replace fiat is not possible for at least   10 to 15 years even more.

Bitcoin is asset just like gold and silver and fiat is the one that evaluate the value of every asset. So bitcoin can never replace fiat but it can dominate the online payment processors with low fee.

Yes that's the fact, Bitcoin can never replace Fiat currency for some many reasons.
1. Fiat currency is more accessible to use specially to our older people
2. Fiat is monitored and controlled by our government
3. You can use it without using any internet connection
So I guess Bitcoin can never replace Fiat currency.

The concept of bitcoin being a the standard currency internationally sounds very futuristic isn't it? But it's not far off. If you think about the concept of debit cards wherein you deposit money in banks and banks have apps now which indicates how much money you have. And you can use these money you have to pay stuffs online. Bitcoin is just like that, but unlike fiat bitcoin is flexible. Of course if you think about bitcoin replacing fiat NOW would be impossible. Yet, there are endless impossibilities, btc may or may not replace fiat in the future.

As new generations come and find out about bitcoin , we will see a long term adoption.
Although there's truth in the title of the topic , bitcoin will not replace fiat , but CRYPTO WILL REPLACE FIAT.
This economic step has to be adopted in order to evolve.

There's no chance to replace fiat money with bitcoins. The reason is everyone use fiat money most of banks accept money instead bitcoins. And on the top we need money in order to buy bitcoins so how we can replace it with money. If money disappear how ill you able to buy coins ?
Currently, yes there is no chance for bitcoin to replace fiat money but sooner or later bitcoin will replace fiat and this is what said will happen in Greece in acouple of years to come.

Note : the world is changing to electronic cash

I also believe that bitcoins cannot replace fiat because not everyone is capable of earning bitcoins. Only those family in the middle class has the capability of earning bitcoins because they budget to build a computer or mobile phone to access this forum and the internet.

It will replace or atleast become a neck to neck contender with fiat money. Thing is, it's taboo in alot of places all around the world now, and the anwser to why is very obvious. Bitcoin wasn't designed to be used by older generations that don't grasp computers or modern technology. If I can't convince my aunt to get a smartphone, then I sure as won't try to convince her to buy bitcoins. Really the millenials, young generations and IT-savvy older people will be the driving power behind bitcoin and cryptocurrency expanding in influence and importance. I say just wait and see, we can't really predict the future one hundred percent.

I really dont agree that it can really replace fiat.Tbey have really a big difference and bitcoin is really working tbrough the help of internet it is not really popular as fiat all over the whole world because many people living in a simple life really didnt use  an internet and maybe some of them really didnt have an idea that bitcoin is really exist.I believe fiat is there way of paying some payment because fiat is really there on times when bitcoin is not really existing.
