yes it is just baseless, as people are expecting a remarkable increase in the price of bitcoin in currency year and in next year 2017. it is expecting that the price of bitcoin is expecting to cross its all time high price very easily and make a new all time high record.

We can't know that for sure in advance

But with Hillary the consensus has it that we would quickly end in a postapocalyptic world with clubs and bats. Trump might eventually destroy the American economy along with the US dollar, but, first, it will take some time (i.e. it surely won't happen in the remaining days till New Year), and, second, a gradual destruction of the dollar will most likely make many Bitcoin holders jump for joy. Just because it will greatly contribute to Bitcoin taking place of the dollar as a safe haven. So more power to him!

I don't think there's any conspiracy or ill-intent at all involved. As with many things, someone invents or creates a thing and releases it to the world, and people use it as they desire, regardless of what the intentions of the creator were. You can see this with bitcoin, certainly. Did Satoshi intend for Bitcoin to become the currency of choice for websites like Silk Road? No, he created a currency he intended to hold value and not be subject to manipulation, it just so happens that it has features that also make it a suitable currency for illegal websites. So the intent of any conspiracy is absent, it's just a coincidence.

There's no need to speculate about bitcoins crashing, just like angaper said, we don't have to worry about this crash. Bitcoin is totally in good condition right now, if there is a crash to happen that may not affect its current state today. Maybe it can but at a very minimal effect regarding its price value.

The bitcoin is in good condition now. But it is not suitable for more transactions.

I do not think any crash would coming in future and as you said many countries are struggling around the world safe guard their economic status with the cheap fiats but we are world's best stock bitcoin. If crash comes also it would not be permanent.

I see many people in this thread stating that if the value of the US dollar collapsed, then the value of bitcoin would increase.  However, I don't see how those two events are inversely related.  In my mind, if bitcoin were functionally tied directly to the exchange of goods and services, then that statement might be true, but I don't think that is the case.  The value of bitcoin seems to be directly tied to the value of the world's fiat currencies and indirectly tied to the exchange of goods and services.  So, if the value of the US dollar crashed, then the value of bitcoin would crash proportionately.  How would the purchasing power of bitcoin increase (in terms of good and services) if the US dollar declined in value?
