Can I run the EthMonitoring.com Linux client in the ethos? I also would like to know whether anyone managed to get all 18 gpu running with Asus B250 mining expert mobo using ETHOS

I don't know if you can run it on the actual OS per se' but you can if you run the EthMonitoring app on a separate computer (in windows/mac/whatever) and add the IP for the rig running ethOS, it will show up on your dashboard. Kind of pointless to pay for EthMonitoring though since ethOS provides it's own remotely accessible dashboard.

That’s a good advice. I sort of missed that point lol. As you said just using IP should work, I never tried it tho. The reason I wanted to go with EthMonitoring app is that I’m alreafy using it for my other rigs that runs on Windows and I wanted have a single point to monitor all of my rigs.

The reason I wanted to go with ethos than Windows is that I wanted to have 16 gpu in one rig. I’m hoping ethos will remain stable even with 16 GPUs.

You need to Bios mod the memory timings to maximize the Ethash hash rate with AMD RX series Polaris cards. The easiest way is to do it in Windows using the PBE v1.6.2 'one click timing patch' bundled performance timings. They work great for most of my cards.

https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor

Then flash the modded Bios back to your cards after backing up the original Bios with Atiwinflash.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Syaf6o1SEUc

After modding the Bios and increasing the memory to 2000 MHz for RX 570's you should get 28-29 MHs and up to 31 MH/s with a 2250 MHz memory overclock for RX 580's.

Thank you Vann! I was afraid I was going to have to use the Windows only tools. I've seen quite a bit of content for the windows AMD side of things on my google searches and was definitely looking for an ethOS or non-distro-specific linux method of updating the bios (safely) and for some reason came to think that ethOS already "used the correct BIOS"( I think I read it in the ethOS IRC??... but did question how it was "affecting the firmware" of GPUs...
Good to know definitively that I do indeed need to temporarily use windows to get this done, and what programs to use (and what Mh/s to potentially achieve). Great info!

I didn't see a particular thread to best post these in, but in case someone comes after with the same cards, here are the BIOS' I modded.
Radeon 470 (with Hynix memory according to PBE) -  https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_rfDp9ZlORaZ5u89zx8zQcDtsfETGdlV
Radeon 580  - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SuflW7cnSARbcdhmQ9zYLr3UkyXErl1W

Thanks again Vann.

OK, bad news for me. That mean, I have to change my RX Cards Bios to reach 30MH/s. Shit. I expected to avoid these steps with ETHOS.
Any Guide line to do that directly from ETHOS?

Also if I may, (if this thread isn't the place to ask for ethOS technical advice please let me know, but I am dying to ask for some help from the concentration on smartest people on the subject) - would anyone be willing to help me with the overclocking of two dissimilar AMD cards ( 1 4gb ellesmere rx 570 113-2e366fu-o53 elpida (edw4032babg) and 1 8gb ellesmere rx 480 113-d0090101-100 samsung (k4g80325fb) and I I'm only getting about 23.5 Mh/s. Other vitals posted in screenshot. https://ibb.co/dW8Oeb

I've attempted overclocking the cards independently and can't seem to single them out for their specific instructions (I've tried matching by BIOS, ect)

Could someone AMD familiar post me an example config to attempt. I feel like I'm not using these cards effectively.

Thank you so much if you're able to help.

I too am struggling with this. I've been googling for my gpu bios and then copying what other ethosdistro folks have done. For example, i'm running 7 -- rx 570 (113-57045EHB1-W90 Elpida)

I found this...

Code:
# FROM: http://lhmach.ethosdistro.com/?bios=yes
# rig: loc: lhm200 -- 7a2a69

#cor 113-57045EHB1-W90 1080
#mem 113-57045EHB1-W90 1970
#pwr 113-57045EHB1-W90 2
#vlt 113-57045EHB1-W90 940

I tried this out and I do get about 22.50 MH/s per card. Unfortunately, two of my seven cards are unstable at this setting and after about five minutes it starts going all over the place. I've checked and double checked power, risers, etc.... So I decided to tweak the per card settings. Now I'm using (lots of little experiments in here...)

Code:
cor myrig0  1080  1080  1080  1080  1110  1080  1110
mem myrig0  1980  1980  1980  1980  1850  1980  1850
pwr myrig0  2     2     2     2     2     2     2
vlt myrig0  940   940   940   940   1050  940   1050
fan myrig0  40    40    40    40    40    40    40

which is a little more stable. I get about ~22.5 on five cards and ~21.0 on two cards. Every now and then the cards shoot to 511 degrees and everything locks up (I think that is unrelated to overclocking and might be due to keeping the cards/board/PSU way too cold.) Nevertheless, this still isn't 29MH/s or even 25MH/s per card which I'm sort of expecting.

Not sure if this helps...

You should flash your cards-Bios to reach better MH/s --> 29MH/s easy with RX570
go to anorak.tech to find the right BIOS.

It's very easy with ethos to flash the Bios

  • minestop && disallow
  • Get the adaptor numbers for the cards with sudo atiflash -i
  • Save your current bios for backup sudo atiflash -s <adaptor number> backupbios.rom
  • Flash the new bios onto the card  sudo atiflash -f -p <adaptor number> /path/to/newbios
  • Repeat. Do each card one by one, reboot, and check.

Hello All - (Total noob here be gentle) I have been Dual Mining ETH/SIA for about a month with 17 Nvidia 1070 GPUs and it has been working great, till the SIA fork and now it takes me 9 days to pay out 1000 sia where I was getting 1000 every 1.5 days. I know there is a bug in the new fork but don't want to wait for the fix. I'm very new at all this mining stuff (2 months) so I need some help on what is possible and how to configure it.

A few questions:
1. What coins can i dual mine together with Claymore?
2. Does any of the other mining software in Ethos dual mine?
3. Can I mine ETH and ZCASH and if so how do I configure that? - I see a lot of Windows miners doing this from google searches but never Ethos.
4. Can I mine ETH and DCR and if so how do I configure that?
5. Can I mine ETH and XMR and if so how do I configure that?
6. None dual mined can I mine DASH with ETHOS and GPUs, if so how do I configure that and what mining software do I use?
7. Also none dual mined can I mine litecoin with ETHOS and GPUS if so how do I configure that and what mining software do I use?

As you can see I have many questions and Google and the EthOS knowledge base do not seem to be my friend when learning about Ethos and how to configure it. Everything I find on line never answers the questions I have or how to configure things. And the knowledge base is very vague with most subjects.

Thank You in advance for any help I get from this forum.

Cheers

If I need set core clock as +100 and mem clock as 500 then

Globalcore 100
Globalmem 500

Is this correct or should I add the numbers to my GTX1070 clock limit and give the total?

Below I found in manifacture’s site
Graphics Clock   1506MHz
Boost Clock   1683MHz
Memory Clock    8000MHz

Can someone please help me understand ?

globalcore globalmem params uses for all rigs on config file. if all of your cards are same, its usefull.
otherelse if you want to +100 use +100 on config file.

cor RIGUNIQID +150 +150 +150 +150 +150 +150 (for 6gpu write 6 times)
mem RIGUNIQID +500 +500 +500 +500 +500 +500

Wow so we can use the + and the incremental value. Thanks for the clarification. I was struggling with that set up as I just moved from win10 to ethOS. Just another quick question, all of my GPUs are same, so can I use the incremental value like +100 in global core, global mem to apply it to all GPU/rigs ?

Voltage and clock sensitivity varies from GPU to GPU (even if all of them are the same make/model) so while a liberal increment/offset value applied to all cards   would work, you will have to tune them individually to extract the maximum out of them.

Depending on the coin you mine, you may need to change the settings accordingly. E.g neoscrypt and equihash,  also the memory clock must be compatible with your card.

Yes, I’m mining Zcash and I have the overclock setting that I was using in Windows before I jump into the ethos operating system. In Windows AfterBurner it’s pretty straight forward to give the delta. Now I understood the ethos side as well with the help of you guys. Thanks for that.

I have been using ethOS for sometime now and love the stats panel to manage all of my miners, however there is one variable I do not know how to read.  What is the "L - 5 minute load average (sysload)" value?  It seems like 90% of my miners are running a sysload between 0.2-0.5, but some are running at 1.4-1.6 and even one at 2.4.  If I look at the historical graph for one of the miners running at 1.4, I see that it was running for a long period at 0.2 and then jumped to 1.4 for several days.  How do I interpret this value and are the any actions I should take?

Thanks.
