To put things back on track: PSA: DO NOT BUY LISK IN THE FORUMS AS THEY CAN REGAIN ACCESS THROUGH LISK SUPPORTAlso, tentative launch date is set at April 11, 2016 Wherein you may now use and receive your real Lisk, trade it and/or use them for developing DApps (like I do ) Regards, Jm Erestain [JM on Lisk.Chat | Vote for Emerge as a Lisk Delegate!]

I like this idea, but is there a way to make sure the delegate is rewarded more than someone in his pool for actually maintaining the pool? Otherwise it seems silly to be someone profiting from the pool without the creator of the pool also profiting. This would make more people interested in participating with delegates if there is incentive. Also, if active delegates go down, the pools will have more experienced users who might be willing to step up and replace active delegates when the need arises.

This would make more people interested in participating with delegates if there is incentive. Also, if active delegates go down, the pools will have more experienced users who might be willing to step up and replace active delegates when the need arises. The delegate creator is rewarded the first X amount of LISK it cost for registration, then all shares are split evenly. This is a fair way to control pools. Also, i think adding in a calculation into the weights of peoples votes. For instance if i am the guy with over 1000btc of LISK holding lets say 5 million for ease of maths. If there is a X2 calculation in there for every vote, if there are 10 people with 10K lisk, then their combined weight is then 5,120,000. Obviously there will probably be more than 10 in each pool, but this eliminates the bigger fish. So now someone is going to say what if a whale splits his 5million into 10 accounts. The problem is still there. I agree, maybe some more complicated maths is needed. But i'm hoping for a project of this size, the pool voters will be in the 100's, maybe even thousands in the months to come. If a whale wanted to waste a whole lot of time and effort in creating 100's of addresses, just to make sure he snapped up a spot in the 101, then he's going to do it no matter the number. But thats going to be a lot of effort, just for a few forged lisk.

there's 101 delegates, Not everyone will be a pool and eventually things will end up that way but why rush it. Let some people make the lisk they can until there is a need for them to do pools. If you want to take the 10 minutes to set up a node, go for it. It doesn't take that much at all. Just don't hate on people because you don't want to do any work. One day pools will be needed, just not now yet IMO. The barrier to entry is to low to do pools yet. 101 needed delegates and I have recorded about 11 people that want to be a delegate. We dont need pools now, we need more damn delegates lol. What do you mean don't do any work? I will set up a delegate, im not brushing off any work. I'm just trying to open peoples eyes to a solution that is needed. Why should i, or anyone else profit from 10 minutes work, when everyone can pool together and profit together. The only reason you are against this is that you are running for an active delegate spot. I could do that too, but i'd rather be in many pools and collectively profit in LISK together. Why is that such a bad idea??

In general, serious discussions should all happen on our own forum! Please move over there guys! I would not try to calm discussion down here. The thread should stay on top...

Why is that such a bad idea?? Like I said, we need 101 delegates and Even if i add you (which I will) we only have about 12 people who want to start a delegate. Why add a pool when we need 89 more delegates? IMO, I think you're just moving faster than needed and jumping past steps to get to the final conclusion when there are easier and more viable ways until the need for pools.

Thats quite a low amount. I think by the time LISK is released that many more people will be wanting to be an active delegate. If they don't then fair enough. I will be though, so you can add me to your signature !!

I will be though, so you can add me to your signature !! Yeah, I don't see how out of ~14,000 BTC, we can't raise 101 delegates. Especially if it only takes 10 minutes to setup. I just don't think everyone wants to have their rig up 24/7, also paying service fees to Vultr, DigitalOcean, or some other service, which is why some are asking about pools maybe? I personally haven't "forged" coins and I don't know many who have. I've GPU mined coins and the idea of "pool", at least "sounds" neat and familiar. "Donnie you're out of your god damn element" is all I can think someone saying back to me right about now.

Spend $10 on service and make $200 in fees? yes please. BTCRoyale, I will add you Wow, really? $200 in fees?! Thats insane, lol. I might have to start worrying about the IRS and taxes? Is that monthly recurring? How did you come up with that estimate?

As a mentioned in a previous post, this idea of delegates might seem like a foreign concept. I recommend talking to the guys at BitShares, they've been doing this for years. There's a lot of lessons that were learned along the way.

SNIP.... I will setup a delegate at launch too. I've had nodes for different cryptos with nearly 100% uptime since some years and know how to secure them. I'm also going to vote for you guys

when can we claim our coins and so on?
(...) Over the next few days, more information and details about the ICO will be announced. We will also release a checklist, so you can see if you are fully prepared for the launch. This effort will be combined with a guide on how to generate and validate your Lisk passphrase, and what to do if you lose it before we launch. Our current plan is to launch Lisk on the 11th April, 2016. This is an estimate based on current workloads, so may change over the next 3 weeks. At launch we will provide a full client so you can directly access your LISK. At this moment it also looks like there will be several exchanges trading LISK immediately, or shortly after launch.https://blog.lisk.io/the-lisk-ico-has-now-ended-with-a-total-of-14-009-btc-and-80-million-xcr-exchanged-93d6ce84d8fb#.4yeq1djt2

I'm constantly astonished at the number of people who sink BTC into a coin without reading about what they are getting into...
