Where would society be without the internet?

I think it would broadly balance out. There's a lot of benefits and no shortage of downsides too.

It was a slow burn watching it develop as I grew up before it became ubiquitous so I've no idea what it would be like coming into a world with it fully formed. I think it's going to take a while before the full impact on kiddies becomes clear. I personally don't think it's a healthy thing.

All in all, communication and the transfer on information would be a lot slower, there would be no contact between nations as much as there is now. Also, internet was a strong tool in todays' revolutions such in Egypt.

But did he mean "no internet" NOW ..after we are used to having it ?

If it was taken away now it would be a rather huge problem.
We grow more reliant on it all the time..
Take Bitcoin for example.

I have said since 2013 lots that there should have been work done to plan for a disaster with Bitcoin.
It is designed to NEED the internet on 24/7 with no back up if the Internet goes down.
Anytime i said that before people would just say it's impossible for the NET to go down.
I always use the same example / scenario i posted on here earlier.. a mass power outage !
That is a realistic potential outcome.
So tell me people how would you use your Bitcoins with no Internet ?
And what if FIAT was abolished and long gone so you can't fall back on it ?

That is just 1 aspect of a no internet possible scenario.
I can imagine all kinds of problems arising..

A society without internet is so difficult as of now ,but if we're on the old age not knowing about internet i think its also an easy for us ,because nowadays these internet change a lot of things on this world ,it serves as life now .so many people will be bored without internet .people will not know the peoples around the world ,they only know people within their place ,there are no games ,etc . Internet gives us a quick information to everyone. Its also improve a lot in communications, because you can communicate to anyone in the world, unlike before. And ofcourse its easier to advertise any business today, that means more business will be created.

Few people use Darknet/TOR programming to build websites. Few people send their emails encrypted ahead of time.

What if people used the Internet wisely. Among other things, income taxes would be gone.

Human relations would be better than past today if there was no internet connection but our daily life would be so  tough without internet. Because, Internet makes our daily life easier. we can buy stuff in a one click or we can make conversations with our beloved ones who live far from us.. these things make internet irreplaceable.

A lot of things would definitely be hard, regarding research. It's going to be real hard work like the old times like going to the libraries where it's live action, or probably manual copying of files. Computers would still exist but the innovation or the time it takes to upgrade something would take even longer, that's for sure.

True, I'm sure we'd be healthier if we didn't spend as much time online. Nowadays half of the population is having sight problems and have to wear glasses or lenses and people are making billions on laser corrections.
The only downside of life without the internet is lack of information. You wouldn't know that someone in your area is selling a house or renting a flat without buying a newspaper and looking something up would take much more time. No Wikipedia, no Google maps...

If in the past when the internet was not available, humans could still exist without it, but once it was used as often as now, it would be difficult to say no and not to use it.
