Well I think a lot of people would have a lot of time to talk with their relatives and friends personally. example of it is in province, there are no such internet in some place (province) in the philippines.

I think we could look back before the internet really works or look back 40 years back from today,
It seems that the people are really having more fun than today they are going to hang out and face each other not hanging out and looking at their gadget,
And if they really need something they would go search for it and ask anyone that they know for help unlike in our time now if we need something we would just basically search for it in the internet.
I really think that back then they are more friendly,respectful and more active .

Crime has risen about 16% since the internet gained popularity, not becaues of it, just because it did.  I am so glad the internet is there, because according to you, if we didn't have Google to stare, we would have to go out and rape people to pass the time.  And inevitable?  That's rich

Yes crime rates become high because of the internet.  Games which you can kill people and youth become addicted to it.  They suddenly become the game and thinks that they can kill anyone.  Rapes that because of the many sites that offer instant pleasure many became sexually addict and want to try it in real life.  The result is not only rape but early pregnancy for teens.  But let us not look on the negative side but on the positive side.  It helps students to finish their homeworks fast so they can play games and watch porns.

We would still be subscribed to a newspaper and reading the funnies lying on the couch and our telephone bills would be a lot higher than they are.

Everything is still in analog technologies. We still go on long queues paying bills, buying stuff, paying taxes, and all others where we need to pay, fill out forms, apply for something, and so on. We would still listen to cassettes or CDs maybe, technology sharing would be slow or selfish. Way of life would be similar to the 90's.

The internet has brought about the age of the social media where we have been able to keep in touch with of our family and friends and its way cheaper than it used to be. We enjoy everything in the luxury of our homes.

Probably people will have more friends, more relations between them and more knowledge...40 years ago we didn't have internet and everything was working good. Airplanes,companies,trading,post office,banks..all. Internet offers you everything just click away. Before if you need some info you needed to search books,go to library,ask somebody..people were more social..

Indeed. How do you feel about actually finding information quickly though? Do you believe people in your development would know a certain amount of info than somebody perhaps 1000 miles away? I'm not saying you're wrong. Just asking what you feel about the specific question.

The internet has made my life as a graduate student so much easier. Research takes about a tenth as long as it did when we had to sit in the library and dig books off of shelves. Now I can just look up articles and download the pdf!
However I think the internet has also made people nastier in general. It makes me sick to see some of the comments people put on the internet while they hide behind their electronic veil. It is easier to stalk people (facebook, anyone?) and to ruin someone's life (identity theft, hacking).

Society wouldn't be the same without the internet, but I think we would be fine. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if infrastructure crumbled and we had to go back to small societies and self-sufficiency.

What an idiotic statement? Have you even considered the possibility that the crimes may be getting better reported now than that was the case a few decades back? Internet has made it easy for the cops and counsellors to do their work in preventing the crimes.

EXACTLY, internet can also be used to disseminate important news ( not fake news) and important announcement in order to prevent much more accidents and unfortunate events.
