Where would society be without the internet?

Like in the 90´s where there no was internet and the society used books and talk to the elders to learn about life, travels and experienced more with the humanity than know, where a baby born with an ipad right below his shoulder.

If I will have kids in the near future, I want to teach them the old ways.  I will not allow them to use the internet to search for the answers on their assignments.  I will not introdiced technologies to them yet before they become heartless.  I will let them enjoy their childhood by letting them play with oldschool games together with the neighbor.

You have no idea how many parents have tried that throughout the ages.
"I will not allow my children to watch TV, I'll make them go outside and play with friends. TV is evil"
"I will not allow my children to read those stupid teen magazines and listen to aggressive music all day. It damages the hearing and they might get a stupid idea and try to go to a college. They will learn a trade and get a decent job like their father!"

Hahaha... Yes it is quite a familiar one. There are many planning that we do before the time and honestly planning is for the reason to act in a situation accordingly, but there is an element "if". So, when we plan we better to take care of the "if" element.
Many of the parents may plan things which really don't work when it come to implementation due to certain reasons, unfortunately.

I can imagine how sane the world will probably get. People are gradually loosing themselves to the world of Internet. Social skills are diminishing as people only resort to social sites now to share every single details on what their life has turned out to be. It is saddening and bad that even the kids are becoming victims of this world. Internet has helped to achieve a lot most especially quick search for information, but its misuse has turned users into zombies that some can't even breathe or think now without Internet.

I can't even imagine a society or community without using internet. We probably be like 2 years back of the current situation.

I guess the results are still the same, except will be communicating with letters or pigeons but we will never know and invented bitcoin if the internet never existed at all. As much as the internet in todays life there also some disadvantages to it, today many people are getting addicted to social media network they communicate through their devices in sharing those thoughts in their timeline instead of talking to someone close to them it's annoying really. But although i hate those kind of things but regardless there are also some advantages in using the internet like fast access of any information and you can communicate to any person in the world, send and receive money faster.

Would be a better place. Why? Because people won't be so lazy relying on the internet. Internet affects the children mostly. For example, the students before and now. Before students go to the library and look for books as their references for their school requirements. Unlike now, most students just surf in the internet and copy and paste information. Yes surely internet is a great help for easy access but let us not abuse it. Another example are the kids. Instead of playing outside discovering things, they choose to stay inside and play their tables and laptops. And i guess it would be more nice and challenging without internet

Friend is somebody, who helps you in the time of troubles, because of personal connection. Adult man should know that.

Apparently, humankind was around for 200 000 years before DARPA developed network in case of nuclear war. So, I dont think. that life with internet would be so hard. It was done before. By all of your ancestors.

Well the power went out for a day due to some crazy weather in the area and a bunch of trees fell down.
So the answer is people go outside talk to neighbors help each other out, walk around the neighbourhood greeting people and then sitting outside and enjoying the evening and sunset.
In other words its kind of like retirement living ^^.

i agree. the disadvantage of internet from what i see is addiction because once you hook in internet you do not notice time how many hours you spend a lot of time in internet and the other one is losing your personal health because of doing nothing .

It would be better, everyone seems to be running around with their own opinions these days and you can easily ruin a business/reputation with fake reviews. There are some good parts as well but majority of the people are too focused on unnecessary things that has no place in reality. Quality > Quantity. When quantity of the information increases, quality degrades.

Well of course both has it advantages and disadvantages - internet has become one of the most influential thing that happened to this generation.


Advantages:

1) Information on almost every subject imaginable.
2) Powerful search engines
3) Ability to do research from your home versus research libraries.
4) Information at various levels of study. Everything from scholarly articles to ones directed at children.
5) Message boards where people can discuss ideas on any topic. Ability to get wide range of opinions. People can find others that have a similar interest in whatever they are interested

Disadvantages:

1) There is a lot of wrong information on the internet. Anyone can post anything, and much of it is garbage.
2) There are predators that hang out on the internet waiting to get unsuspecting people in dangerous situations.
3) Some people are getting addicted to the internet and thus causing problems with their interactions of friends and loved ones.
4) Pornography that can get in the hands of young children too easily.
5) Easy to waste a lot of time on the internet. You can start surfing, and then realize far more time has passed than you realized. Internet and television together of added to the more sedentary lifestyles of people which further exacerbates the obesity problem.

I don't think so, you just relied on the disadvantages of the internet but on the general advantages of it, i have seen in so many documentaries/news especially in my country to help lost children, people who really needs help and also busting the fake news which a trend now, not only in my country.

Yes, it still in the hand of the user on how the internet will affect his life.  Those fake news were also created in today's events.  But of course, things that we believed to have real before were corrected, thanks to the internet.  We learned new things daily about every topic here on earth.  Still like what you said people are still in control of its use.  Be the user of the internet but not to the point that you are the one being used.

Society would be simple and very peaceful.  Long distance communication would be hard but the trust would be stronger.  Values will be more valued.  Morals will be high. Personal relationship would be better since we talk more than facing our phones wholeday.  Self confidence will not be based on how many likes you received but on how you feel about yourself.  Im not against internet.  It helped me in a very great way.  Just its negative side. Authoritative approach on parenting...doesn't really work out well for kids.  All that will happen is the kids will either be afraid of breaking the rules and ignorant, or they'll do as they please behind the parents' back.

Without the internet, the society would have been as backward and dark as it was in the stone age. The internet has now broken barriers such that the world now has become a "global village" where anything that is happening in any part of the world will be known in matters of seconds.
