Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I can imagine how sane the world will probably get. People are gradually loosing themselves to the world of Internet. Social skills are diminishing as people only resort to social sites now to share every single details on what their life has turned out to be. It is saddening and bad that even the kids are becoming victims of this world. Internet has helped to achieve a lot most especially quick search for information, but its misuse has turned users into zombies that some can't even breathe or think now without Internet.

By far one of the most interesting questions i've read.
I think people effort would be appreciated more by society and our lives would be slower but healthier.

Ridiculous. Internet has made our lives much easier. Now it is possible to connect with friends and relatives, even if they are living many thousands of kilometers away from where you live. Without internet, life would be less colorful and more difficult.

We are still using pigeons to send our mails to our recipient. Kiddin aside, I guess without internet would give people a lot chances to do more and to be less lazy. Why? Internet makes our life easier. Without internet every individuals would really spend time to be more productive.

Yes, without the Internet, life will become much more difficult. Many will lose their source of income and become poor. Therefore, the absence of the Internet will simply kill many. I would not want to live in a world without the Internet

It's probably like the Assassin's Creed time, is that it? That's kind of funny. I think that's the effect of too much easy searching on the internet, and it's making people lazy because it's easy now. Google is now a verb, so what's up with that right, that's an awesome update to our lives. We can imagine it by a patch in our lives, to improve. It depends on the person really.

Where would society be without the internet?

The real question is, "Where would society be without the printing press?"

Cool

We'd still be all largely ignorant from the expense of books. Especially Europeans, since they prefer their books made from parchment. East Asians would fare better, though they're mostly using woodblock which can be time-consuming to make.

Despite movable type being first used there, it isn't exactly easy with their script. Explains why Europe took to the press while East Asians continued with woodblocks.

We are still using pigeons to send our mails to our recipient. Kiddin aside, I guess without internet would give people a lot chances to do more and to be less lazy. Why? Internet makes our life easier. Without internet every individuals would really spend time to be more productive.

Pigoins, the internet of the clouds. Avail of our initial offering and get 10 extra pairs and a coop when we go public.

Technology has been progressing way before the internet. We've sent man to the moon, cures were made for diseases that were previously untreatable, we've had good doctors, lawyers, businessmen, we've basically been doing a lot of things that would make us progress as a specie without the internet so if it were to be taken away i think we'd still be fine. Yeah i agree it made life easier and the way it affects lives today makes it a necessity but we will survive and advance without it

The "Dark Ages" is a historical periodization traditionally referring to the Middle Ages. It emphasizes the demographic, cultural and economic deterioration that supposedly occurred in Western Europe following the decline of the Roman Empire, and the relative scarcity of written records from the period.

The term employs traditional light-versus-darkness imagery to contrast the era's "darkness" with earlier and later periods of "light". The concept of a "Dark Age" originated in the 1330s with the Italian scholar Petrarch, who regarded the post-Roman centuries as "dark" compared to the light of classical antiquity. The phrase "Dark Age" itself derives from the Latin saeculum obscurum, originally applied by Caesar Baronius in 1602 to a tumultuous period in the 10th and 11th centuries. The concept thus came to characterize the entire Middle Ages as a time of intellectual darkness between the fall of Rome and the Renaissance; this became especially popular during the 18th-century Age of Enlightenment.

As the accomplishments of the era came to be better understood in the 19th and 20th centuries, scholars began restricting the "Dark Ages" appellation to the Early Middle Ages (c. 5th–10th century). Many modern scholars avoid the term altogether due to its negative connotations, finding it misleading and inaccurate. The original definition remains in popular use, and popular culture often employs it as a vehicle to depict the Middle Ages as a time of backwardness, extending its pejorative use and expanding its scope.

Your guess?

I think socializing every friday is a thing. We will be more focused on meeting people, we will be exposed to public and there will be no shut-in teens that play games online, they will be more socialble and no social awkward people.

You are making important point.

Researchers know that children without strong and established social skills may be at risk. When students don't learn how to navigate their way socially, they feel isolated and alone. Often technology is used as a self-soothing device, helping young people pacify their fears and anxieties instead of learning coping mechanisms.

Conversely, children with positive social skills learn to make friends and have rich relationships with adults in their lives. They learn to deal with disappointment and recognize reactions in others. These skills allow them to grow and develop both academically and socially as they adapt to changing expectations at school and in their lives.

The Internet has provided an opportunity for many people to make money, but this does not mean that they began to communicate less with other people. You just need to use it correctly.

,i don't think so if internet never existed i think people would be less socialized and ambitious, as we can see one of the triggers among the internet are the social medias, along with it there are good and bad ideas, example of good is that updated and fast news, and for the bad one are cyber bullying, and some poisonous ideas which are not applicable or advisable among early ages or kids.

If I will have kids in the near future, I want to teach them the old ways.  I will not allow them to use the internet to search for the answers on their assignments.  I will not introdiced technologies to them yet before they become heartless.  I will let them enjoy their childhood by letting them play with oldschool games together with the neighbor.

You have no idea how many parents have tried that throughout the ages.
"I will not allow my children to watch TV, I'll make them go outside and play with friends. TV is evil"
"I will not allow my children to read those stupid teen magazines and listen to aggressive music all day. It damages the hearing and they might get a stupid idea and try to go to a college. They will learn a trade and get a decent job like their father!"

Sounds familiar? Grin
