There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

WTF!? Is that panic selling? Where are your balls ? Undecided Huh
I sold all XVG at this time, this is not the good time to buy and hold. Maybe when it drops under 0.1 USD I will buy back.
I sold also all my XVG earlier and lost about 10% from my capital then bought UTK at bargain price today! Cool

UTK is a good coin to buy now and hold for a year or two.

Hey people, been reading this thread for a long time now but never registered or commented. Hold a decent chunk of xvg (luckily for me I bought in a long time ago as well) disappointed in the drop in price, especially back to these levels but hopefully it will bounce back. Question is, where is the best (safest) place to hold my coins. Currently have them in an exchange but when the price re-corrects again, for the better this time. I don’t fancy keeping it all on there with talks of hacks etc. Cheers

Most altcoins are falling. Everyone turning their altcoins into btc to cash out I guess. This happens mostly when Bitcoin crashes.

Sold all today.
Still could make a profit but it is falling like a brick now, every 5 seconds it gets less.
Well guys, it is no stock exchange, a company always keeps its value, a made up coin is just fake value.

I would be more worried if only Verge would go down.

On some trading platforms ( oa Litebit.eu)  100 % of coins go down at the moment.

BTC futures expire on Jan 18th and there’s massive short positions by Banks and Institutions that want to be in the money so they drive the price down on all exchanges.

JPMorgan and GSachs were buying BTC last year to now leverage it and short the exchanges to drive down the price before futures expiration.  They don’t want your Cryptos, they couldn’t give a shit less, they want your money which everyone is giving them.

Crypto heads will now get a taste of what precious metals stackers have been dealing with for decades, market manipulation by banks.

BTC has to die and all Alts need USD pairs it’s the only way to break free for real price discovery.

It's official, btc down to 8,000 soon.

Is this dump an attempt by  the whales to scare the crap out of the weak hands before the big pump...

The market is just weaker the past few days. Bitcoin is in the red and it will drag down many altcoins.

Right now it's a bloodbath everywhere, most coins have lost almost 30% - 40% values in just few hours. If you can't buy at this opportunity, at least hold whatever you have and hunker down to ride out this downturn, don't panic. Markets will stabilize in few days.

better to stay away from the exchange and don't fall into panic this issue will recover for sure, the correction is needed in order to find
the support level then rise back much stronger, and xvg is also part of crypto industry so those who knows the drill will buy at the dip
and wait for the good time again to sell.

It is funny to see how people trust in coins like it is a religion.
It was the first bubble with cryptocoins and people (experts) act like they know it all.
Like i said before, it is not like with stock, a company always keeps a certain value, coins can go down the drain and go to zero.
It is like a casino, sometimes you make a profit but the casino always wins.

whoever intends to sell now will make one of the badest decisions in his life! The market is crashing, it's totally normal. Bitcoin has lost 30-40% every year after new years. The crash this year is particularly important since the price went so high in such a small period of time! Don't panic just wait next month btc price will reach all time high!

so what is your choice?
Hold the amount you bought at 1000 satoshis and wait it go up  again , or sell all at 900, 800 satoshi and buy at lower prices.
You must make profit any times Cheesy

Never hold the bulk of your coins at an exchange.

Only what you think of as Lost.

(oh and sorry, i didnt mean to say how much i was playing with. well, i did, but didnt think about it...wasnt meant that way)

my strat now, is to transfer the xvg (and a few others) out of the exchanges i have em in, and sit on em.
Except BTC.  that ill be refilling so i can buy more of everything.

its been working for me.
