I tried using the new wallets but they are not that good on Windows 8.1.
I just reverted to the old 15.2 because the new wallets and UI either freeze while loading or are just completely not working.
I was still using 14.0 installed on external disk (windows) but it has crashed. Would you advise me to install 15.0? Is it better than 14.0 if you have tried it too? Idk why but I have issues all way long, the 9.0 was the only version I used with no problems. ( There's minor improvements and I believe even the way the blockchain is loaded is different so once you run 15 you can't go back to running 14 again. I just installed 16.2 and it works fine. The one I've been having problem with is the wallet that the official Nano site has listed. I don't know who the devs behind that one is but it definitely is different than the one in the Github. That's weird. Ok, got it, means It's better to use GitHub. I'll try this one. I willreinstall this on my external disk once again and if it doesn't work I will be forced to install it on my Mac. The only thing I'm worrying about is I've read a lot that core wallets can harm SSD. This is the source of all my troubles with wallets I run SSD on all my machines and even have a mini PC constantly staking and mining with core wallets. Even some really outdated core wallets and I have not had an issue with SSD and wallets. You might have a RAM issue and your PC is using SSD space as backup RAM. 8GB in todays cryptospace is a minimum to run core wallets. Issue occurs only on the external disk. I got 64 GB RAM )) on my iMac, just refrained from installing on it. I'll try, thanks for sharing your experience. SSD problems were discussed on multiple threads and chats but probably this were isolated cases that caused further rumors...as usual

In the long run, whether Nano keeps growing is largely due to its acceptance as a payment method in the future. The good news for buyers is that Nano users have gotten a reputation as devoted coin evangelists, and there’s no denying its status as one of the most efficient coins around.
The bad news is that function isn’t everything. Sheer quantity of buying and price manipulation are much more important factors in currency prices. This is especially true of a token like XRB that’s designed to hold value and be transferred.

Technology and concept are the only things I've been always care about. Just read a report on the recent stress test and I like the results and believe that Nano will gain more and more advantages over the competitors in the future. Nice work ppl.

Epoch block upgrade has commenced https://www.reddit.com/r/nanocurrency/comments/9rmwhp/epoch_block_upgrade_has_commenced/We've begun distribution of Epoch blocks by sending a block to Kucoin. Due to the nature of Epoch blocks, anyone that receives funds from an upgraded account (such as the main exchange account) will be upgraded to Version 1.
An account from Kucoin has withdrawn and sent to Binance, upgrading their wallets as well. Currently, approximately 3,000 accounts have been upgraded.
Our team is tracking and monitoring upgraded accounts for any issues before commencing with distribution across the full network.

Byteball, Nano, iota are the 3 main DAG based coins. Except iota is very centralized and if I understood correctly, facing some fundamental issues (but haven't looked into its tech in detail yet)
Byteball and Nano = use DAG, are decentralized but not quantum secure. IOTA = uses DAG as well, is centralized, but claims to be quantum secure. From your sentence one can conclude that XRB is quantum resistant. I would be very surprised if it was true right now.

Epoch block rollout and confirmation height change are best thing happened recently about which I read. These changes were needed of time to make the whole process as easier for everyone as possible to cement the transactions. This methodology to upgrade the chain by sending transaction from upgrading one is something I read for the first time. Nano's journey from complexity to easier will continue in future that is great.
