This thread is all becoming about the bounties, and then the exchanges. People are in a hurry to dump their coins. same old story but with a different coin. Is there anything new?
Well maybe. Sasha just wrote on Slack that users have pretty crappy seeds that they have assigned themselves. A half decent script-kiddie could just run a dictionary attack and scoop up a bunch of free waves, as the users apparently don't understand what they are doing. Imagine what this thread will look like when many users find out that all their invested ICO Wave tokens are gone with the wind because of having something like "mary had a little lamb" or their ico deposit address as their seed. How can sasha or anyone else know what seed do I have? Our seeds are visible for dev team? Is this a joke or something?

Yes I am only interested in the developments at this state. Even though I received a few bounties, I put my btc where my mouth is and purchased my WAVES..So we need some seriousness in this thread now, not just the dumpers and freeloaders continuously spamming the thread. Come on guys give the Devs a chance to get their work done, what are you doing for the COIN? If the thread managed by some different threads refer to different topics, such as bounties , exchanges and trading, wallets issues, technical development, etc, would be much better.

Yes Just like bitcoin you can/could've created you're own mnemonic. You can even us a mnemonic generator like they did. They just decided to call it a Seed SO that people would not be thrown by a word they might not understand.

Will there be a standalone Windows Wallet or just the Chrome Wallet ? Will there be a Firefox Wallet? Can we just wait and send our WAVES to an exchange right from the ico.wavesplatform.com page once the coin is on an exchange ?[/li][/list]
You may keep your coins in the ICO wallet, that is completely fine. Right now the Chrome Extension works the best but there are other alternatives if you run the local html-files on your secure home laptop/PC. Chrome extensions can be run on Firefox. the devs intention is running the platform in an web explorer and not a software you have to install or care about, so you can start it frome anywhere. thats the big +

This is ridiculous for me.

This is ridiculous for me. I am uncertain as to how Sasha et. al could know some seeds, but odds are that people have reported this themselves in the chats, or they have disclosed the seeds to the devs while troubleshooting wallet problems etc. The seeds should be safe as they are generated locally and aren't sent anywhere. The devs took the time to write a statement on slack that people should not use bad seeds, as this might get peoples Waves stolen.

You should use the Chrome wallet plugin rather than running some arbitrary code on your machine! https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/wavesliteapp/kfmcaklajknfekomaflnhkjjkcjabogmif you are unsure of the state of your box, you probably want to use a clean machine before creating your Waves address. You could try to run a Linux Livecd / USB to be in a safe environment and run the plugin there. Once you have a new fresh Waves address, write down and save the seed in a safe place so you can restore the address later if needed. Also, if the devs send out the Waves to a bad address there are no ways for you to get them back. You should consider removing the bad address from the ICO site and just leave that blank for now untill you have a new Waves address.

That's a good sign that the team sees the whole project too seriously, just imagine what would have happened if you had full access to your waves but you couldn't send them anywhere because the exchange's nodes where not syncing. A little delay isn't as bad as it seems, be patient.
