What is the safety of being able to access anyones waves wallet with the seed? Couldn't this be dictionary hacked? I know this has been done with bitcoin wallets and brainwallet. Hoping 2fa will be implemented soon.
It would take an awful mount of time for someone to hack it though, but I was wondering the same. 2FA would be a great added security feature for ease of mind since Waves is getting up there in price. My concern is, what are the chances of the Waves platform creating the same seed for a new account? This new user would be able to transfer all of our tokens. That would suck big time. |

Quantum computing might be a thing when it comes to dictionary hacking, but the costs would be huge, not worth it for a single wallet. Hehe.

Waves has been pioneering the concept of easy creation of custom tokens by the people. Now in the coming days Bancor will get on stage introducing smart tokens into the game. Will this somehow affect Waves' model?

It is much safer as the random words have a much higher entropy than the passwords avarage joe will come up with. It may look less secure, but it is mathematically proven to be very strong. 2fa would be a very welcome addition, but this will require some form of centralization right? |

The platform is impressive but if i were to create a token and market it, you know i have to spend a decent amount of time explaining to someone why they need waves to trade my token. It just makes it a little more awkward since you have to shill 2 products. Hope the devs can think of something. If the trade is made in BTC/token, the fee should just be in BTC. But hey i like it overall but not sure about this wave fee aspect  |

The only way to not centralize a 2fa is to encrypt the wallet with the both authentificators (pass + 2fa). The issue is that you'll have no way to recover your wallet (except with your seed) if you lost your pass or the 2fa key. For me this extra security is not that bad for a local usage if many peoples use your computer. Else a strong password is enough. Keeping your seed secret and download the litewallet on your personal computer are still the best protections. |
