halving is the wet dream for speculators around here. and for the rest it is some kind of hope to get rich over night, so that is no wonder everybody wants to talk about it.

Lol... likely a lot of halving. The threads will halve and create two different threads, then 4.... then 8 exponentially. Then, when the halving comes, there will be threads analysing the halving and commenting on the effects of it Cheesy

I am certain tht the next month we will face a lot more flooded threads with the same questions about halving. These noobs pretending to know anything about it will not stop creating their thread like they actually know what is happening. Cheesy

I doubt halving will make anybody rich except the ones who are already rich.
Furthermore it's an event everybody is interested in because whatever will happen, it will have an effect to all of us.
I'm really looking forward for it and the different reactions of the people depending on the outcome.

As I'm a dedicated sheep I'm going to start one every day between now and then. Once it's come and gone I'll have 2020 to look forward to so I'll slowly ramp up unless this forum is renamed halvingtalk.org.

That's the spirit!

Interestingly the 26-50 range is picking up some votes.

I think it will be less than 100 as I believe the old 'block halving' threads will get bumped like there is no tomorrow.
As correctly stated in the OP, most users of this forum are too lazy to use search option. Instead, they start a new topic, without even reading that all they have to say is already written. The thread picks up for couple of days and dies shortly after that. And then the story repeats. If we are at 30 at the moment, I see an easy 100+ by the time of halving.

I too voted 100+..I saw lots of redundant threads in this forum..Obviously some of those threads will only talk about the same topic as the increase in price..OP is right about those A,B, and C reasons..

There would be something about 25 threads on halving. Though there are few more months it keeps on counting, might reach above 100 at times of halving.

I believe there are now three more halving threads making 31 in total but I haven't done a proper check I am afraid.

As many has already explained, the effect of halving is yet to surface. The main reason is the current block-size debate as well as the real demand-supply imbalance has yet to set in.

Most likely the effect of halving will be seen a few months after the real reward halving.

That may or may not be true, but this is not the thread to discuss the effect of the halving except for its resultant impact upon the number of repetitive and duplicative threads in this sub-forum.

Edited to add : ideally you should start a new thread to say that.

I'm calling shenanigans. You've obviously a whale who's bet big on a high thread count and are now blatantly - blatantly - trying to manipulate the number of new threads. Wink

i think there might be even more because people are actually waiting for it really much and they really want for it to happen in order to earn some good money out of that

i would predict that there will be around 50 all in all because people will start to create even more of it when there will be around a month left till the halving event

If we manage to count the number of times 'halving' is mentioned in the speculation board, I think you will conclude that there is nothing else in the minds of the people here.  Grin

I think it is a bit like with ICOs: you have an explosion on the first three days when you get a lot of volume, then nothing happens until the very last moment and then again a WAVE (pun intended) of late-comers makes the volume. Same with halving topics. We are currently traversing the boring part of the season, but fireworks are yet to come.
