Did I get this right? The price of their prepaid card is over $200? That is... I don't know what that is. Talk about being opportunistic.

Yep. That price is correct. I guess for many people it's the only option now.

Considering how many of these cards have disappeared I wouldn't lay out so much money unless I had a cast iron guarantee it was gonna be here to stay.

And I don't see how they can do that.

The fact funding takes so long tells me it's some type of improvisation that the card company is unaware of.

This price is exaggerated. They are actualy misusing situation that users have no choice and this could be called dishonest business practice. At least I would call it like that. They don't care about the users but only want to make as much money as they can while this gap on the market lasts. This is miserable.

It was about ~150$$ last year, they raised the price since they spotted a good opportunity for profit.
One factor why the price is enormously big is due to the DHL shipment costs.
I guess, top-up is slow because they doing it manually.

I've just found out about them in another thread and did some research.
Their thread is here, but seems to have outdated info and quite some complaints about the very slow support.

About countries, I've found a list of banned countries only for companies and Ecuador is not on the list. You can try to research more or ask their support if you have the patience.

Wait for the card, load your account with money, then swipe and spend away!

I miss my Mistertango card. It was deactivated because I live outside the EEA. Can't wait for them to introduce a new card. Tough times for non-residents of Europe.

Sorry if it is off top for this thread, but i'm sure that if you use this cards, you have to know things like this.

Have a look at the card limits:

Card limits
Maximum monthly transactions limit €15 000
Maximum annual transactions limit €20 000
Maximum card payment limit per day €3 000
Maximum per ATM transaction €1 000
Daily ATM withdrawal limit €1 000
Minimum ATM withdrawal limit €10

The maximum annual transaction limit (the maximum amount you can ever spend with the card each year) is only €20 000. So taxes are negligible.

I think you're confusing the Mistertango card from the Mistertango account. You will be depositing money into the account (not the card). The account itself is a regular IBAN account. You can deposit as much money as you like into this account for as long as you can justify the source of those funds. They will close your account if they suspect money laundering, just like what happened to this guy's account:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2029966.0

The card is linked to the account and it's the card which has transaction limits. Not the account.

If you are a tax resident of Spain, you might need to declare your Mistertango deposits to Spanish tax authorities if the total monetary value of your assets outside Spain (not only the Mistertango account but all other accounts you might have) exceeds the threshold stipulated by the Spanish authorities. Here it is:

Tax resident individuals are obliged to report (720 Form) the following assets and rights located outside of Spain to the Tax Authorities:

  • Accounts in which the individual is the titleholder, or in which he is representative, authorized person or beneficiary, or in which he has disposal powers.
  • Securities, rights, insurance and life or temporary annuities.
  • Real estate or rights on real estate.

There will be no reporting obligation for those assets or rights which value (considered in aggregate for each group of assets listed above) is lower than Euros 50,000. The deadline for filing the 720 Form is from 1 January to 31 March of the year following that for which the information must be reported.

Hope this helps.

Useless limits.

I miss my Cryptopay visa card. It had a daily withdrawal limit of USD 2000 and no annual loading limits. Now that they deactivated my Mistertango MasterCard I’m forced to trade my coins P2P or on Localbitcoins. I’m still waiting for THE card with solid limits and the kind of spending power which makes you feel comfortable about having just that one card in your wallet.

Cryptopay do you hear me?

Users outside of the UK can still sign up for the waiting list which means you’ll be the first to hear about rollout in Europe and beyond.

And that planned rollout for your waitlisted non-UK customers is when?

Hopefully not months from now. Sometime in the future won't be an encouraging response either.

Shiny plastic cards are nice indeed but a shiny rollout date for everybody else beyond Europe would be nicer.

I hope you joined forces with a solid card issuer. One which will far outlast your relationship with Wave Crest. Crossing my fingers.

Is Wirex the first service that will put back Bitcoin debit cards on the market after Visa and Wave Crest issue? Will there be some new features and improvements? Any planned dates for issuing new cards?
And what about the others, does anyone has some information? I think market hardly waits for this gap to be filled.
