Bitcoin and Blockchain how banks and many companies prefer to use it are two completely different things!
Ripple by the way isn't really a crypto currency. They should be removed from cmc. Furthermore most people getting into the market now are extremely uneducated in terms of crypto and often just interested in quick money.This has nothing to do with the libertarian movement anymore from a few years ago.
How big the community can really grow over the next few years will be seen with the next crisis, when many newbs will have lost a lot of money due to pump and dump in altcoins. Then we will see who is really interested in crypto currencies and it's advantages.

well op didn't actually say that it would exclusively be bitcoin by 2022. and though I agree that there are still a lot of places who doesn't have access to the internet, those who have may have already come across or have used btc one way or another in 5 years. it's not impossible if you think about it

I can see a lot of people around me start using bitcoin, it proves that bitcoin is growing and spreading. But that will not make everyone use bitcoins in a short time

Using the blockchain is one thing, using bitcoin is another one.
Dogecoin is using the blockchain  that doesn't mean banks will have usd to dogecoin transfers or dogecoin deposits.

Again, bitcoin won't beat paypal.
Because paypal is no adversary, just take a look at bitpay. Why did it appear? What prevents paypal for doing the same? Nothing.

I think although bitcoin development is very good as many companies glance and bitcoin development is pretty good. But in a very short time. It would be hard for bitcoin to have that many users

Yeah bitcoin development can be practically run smoothly, many people start using bitcoin, including institutions. But one thing is for sure. Anytime. It would be impossible for a bitcoin to have an entire human user

Yes in that places where internet will not be available there people will not know about bitcoin and they will not need bitcoin as they will not do any online transactions while in other parts of the world where internet will be available then on these places people will know about bitcoin and they will invest in it for their profit.

You are right, I don't think that bitcoin will used by everyone in 2022. because this time is too close. Less than 5 years is a short time.

If there were some improvements with Bitcoin acceptance recently and we had some kind of growth on the ground as opposed to most of it being focused solely around online content then maybe we would be able to see Bitcoin becoming something a bit more commonplace in the next few years, but you never hear about it, essentially ever, on the news or radio where I am and I haven't heard it talked about at all really.

Maybe possible in the future, but right now 2022 is a short time for the amount of progress required.

Bitcoin will not be used by almost everyone because if bitcoin will be used by almost any people around the world then bitcoin will lack of its supply and have a shortage and that is why bitcoin is not designed for everyone. I think bitcoin will just be accepted by the shop owners and not everyone because that is very impossible.

Personally, I don't believe that Bitcoin will kill fiat money and this is quite reflected with the fact that the American dollar never killed other currencies although the dollar is the official global trading currency. Had this been the case, Japan will not recognize Bitcoin. Japan knows that yen and Bitcoin can be singing together the song of profits and happiness.

People who believe that myth are obviously not been to many third-world countries where people are so remote and they are not yet reached by technology. Simply spending bitcoins doesn't show that you support it at all, at least not in the way that you can show bitcoin to the world. No one would even notice if you transacted 10 btc to another wallet unless you post a screenshot online. I think it's best that we genuinely educate people about bitcoins when they say that they are interested about it. We don't have to say directly that bitcoin has a bright future and that you can earn a good amount of money from it. Let them realize that by themselves.

Anyway, that's just your availability heuristic (I can imagine Googling this term. Or nah? Because you're so smart, aren't you? ) Something that's happening on a small scale doesn't go up on a bigger scale, at least not right away. There might be some success on a small scale but that doesn't mean that large companies would take those into account. Nope.  I know very few "Millennials" who use it, yet they are the most connected people around.  There is no way that my Boomer generation will adopt BTC as is, it's just too complicated and clumsy.  "Not ready for primetime."

There are not enough merchants who accept it.  In my eyes, this is perhaps the major stumbling block.

There is ALWAYS the possibility of unknown types of future attacks (of various sorts) against the Bitcoin Ecosystem.

BTC is too volatile for mass use.


While I wish BTC well (and have a nice little stake), I think it will move slowly.

It will get used more once some of the technicality of it gets absorbed....computers were only used by a select few in the beginning.  The easier it got through advancements and ease of use drove some of the adoption, which is still needed for bitcoin.  Once its easy it will be adopted by more.
