I started testing the mod on a single Nano, a few days ago and the results is fantastic. Thanks Heliox for guiding me to Nano nirvana... Details as follows: 1. H81-BTC, 1840 Celeron, 8GB RAM, 102Gb SSD, USB3 powered risers, 1 x 1600w EVGA, 5 x Sapphire Nanos 2. Using Claymore Dual Miner, currently without Rom mods, 133MHs, -100mV, 1070, 525 @1133watts (ETH & DCR mode) 3. ETH mode only, power draw is just under 1000w with settings above. My goal: 1. 185 Mh/s @ 4.8A, 1050 watts (6 Cards) 1020 Core, 300 Mem 2. Replace the 1600w to 1300w PSU (20% buffer). 3. Add one more Nano to total 6 cards from 5. Test machine: 1. Same as production machine, but with a single Nano 2. Tested all roms including -150mV version, all OK 3. After flashing, DDU in safe mode, reinstall Cat 16.3.2, then upgraded to 16.4 automatically - will stick to this. 4. Ran CDM4.4 ETH only at stock 22MHs on -150mV/800/300 overnight, all OK and seems we have a winner 5. Braved the -175mV, and inched my way to 30MHs.... maxed out at from 800/300 to 1040/300... 29.xxMHs 6. GPUZ and AF reporting temps: 68c, Fan speed 53% 15k RPM, 100% GPU Load, VDDC 1.1375v 7. Will run this for few hours. 8. Need to find kill-a-watt meter to test power draw later I hope I can push it some more to hit pass 30MHs... should I go for the -200mV.rom

On a stock Nano is there a difference in the bios if I flip the switch? Or are they both the same? I want to flash left position with stock bios from right, then flash right with modded bios and try that way. If they are different though, can someone upload the two stock roms? Still having problems that the guy above was having, if I go over 950Mhz core it gets laggy and dies. Then if I want to start again I have to DDU and reinstall 16.1 drivers. Im powering down and unplugging electricity too The main and backup bios is the same. You just need a add some voltage to the Core. I have similar issues.

I'm glad it's working out alright for you! It should, as it's working perfectly (almost 2 months) over here. I would stick with the 175 version. The 200 one is a little overkill to be honest. You may try, but it could fail.. Good luck further! For those with issues with the low version one. Here's a -75mV version for those with problems -75mV VDDC, -100mV MVDDCGreetings!

The H81 BTC was helpful because of the on board molex power. I didn't need any additional mV to hit 29.xx MHs - does this makes sense?

Asdalani, For a 390 yes, not for Fiji, +75 max, AB does +100max (or minus..)

Just an extra here In case of stability. Almost all my rigs have been stable for over 40 days non stop. As you can see, 970 hrs, over 110k shares This is with the -100mV VDDC, -175mV MVDDC rom. Picture of temperatures. So far, amazing investment! Greetings!

Keep modding. The code is shit. The competition is reducing the power/cost from the programming of the kernal code...

Oh, looky here, sp in my thread Welcome! The code is shit? I hope you mean dagger? What do you mean by the competition is reducing the power/cost in the programming? I could have kept this for myself, i would have (probably) be one of the few that was mining at a very decent hash rate at a rather low power usage.. (especially with nano's...) But oh well, i'm still a "You give some and you get some" person.. Edit, i see you edited your post.. "the programming of the kernel code"

Edit, i see you edited your post.. "the programming of the kernel code" The bios is perfect. But the kernal is suboptimal... I picked up 13 r9 nanos and I think I can boost them on low clocks..

Using -150mV rom mod on Sapphire R9 Nano Results: Clocks:800core/300mem, 657watts, 2.67Amps, 132.5 MHs, temps=59-61c, fans=19% (mining ETH mode, CDM 4.5) Current system: Win8.1, Cat-16.5.3, ASrock H81-BTC, 1840 Celeron, 8GB RAM, 120Gb SSD, USB3 Powered Risers, EVGA1600
Notes: 1. Big saving$ on PSU - now can replace it with smaller PSU. 2. Cranking up to core clock to 1040mhz/300Mhz memclock, gets to about 176MHs but wattage and amps will increase too 1348w and 5.4amps. Temps will also rise to 76-77c and fans 49%
Next project 2nd attempt on -175mV rom mod. It worked well on 1 x Nano (see my previous post) When I got all 6 on same rom mod, I had issues bringing up safe mode to apply DDU. I may have given up too soon. Will try and get this going after I see how stable the -150mV rom mod runs after a few hours mining ETH only with latest CDM 4.5

UPDATE: 1. Looks like -200mV is not for me.... after flashing, power off, DDU etc.... installation of of Catalyst 15.12 or latest 16.x.x hung halfway at 12%. Rebooted cold or reset, blank screen. 2. well.... the -175mV rom did not go well too.... after reflashing, DDU, install of Catalyst latest drivers... Launching CDM goes silent after identifying the Nanos. Tried qtminer, also no luck. 3. Decided that -150mV is probably best mod for now until Heliox gives a few more ideas on how to fix issues above.

Talan,
Thx for that register dump.
Now try this one.
Hi Eliovp, i got this one working now at 1020 core. I can reduce the core volt by another 24mv in afterburner I still run some tests, but this seems okay. Any chance you can do a -100 core/-75mhz for me? Also in case of not too much work, would be great to have 6mv steps from -100 down to -75. in this case i could try to find the sweet spot. Thanks so much, Talan

I mine with the ethpool.org. I noticed that my 6x nano has more stable shares (6-10%) than the 6x390 (1-3%). Anybody has similar experience?

Still having problems that the guy above was having, if I go over 950Mhz core it gets laggy and dies. Then if I want to start again I have to DDU and reinstall 16.1 drivers. Im powering down and unplugging electricity too The main and backup bios is the same. You just need a add some voltage to the Core. I have similar issues. Ive added +100mv and 100% power on afterburner, still no luck. How did you add more power to core? You have to use the Sapphire Trixx. It allow 200mV higher or lower. I used it for my R9 390 rigs. Mrmaroon, you should check out other things for your issue mate, like i said several times, 100 nano's here, not one with any issues like that.. Asdalani, i flashed bios with the one a few posts above. This has allowed me to run at 975Mv so 28 Mh/s per card. Ill try Trixx on the Nanos, when i used it before on 390s I couldn't find a way to change settings across all cards at once. Is there a way to link similar cards like AB? Eliovp, Sorry man I am happy with this ! But still want to figure out why its crashing before 1000. I know its something i'm not seeing, I appreciate the help! Ive read this whole thread like 5 or 6 times Citronik, I thought about adding the Mobo molex connectors, but everywhere I read said not to with powered risers. Some people said they were melting cables I will try it with one and both connectors today. I figured Nanos didn't draw enough to need them. My 5 390x sapphires don't have them plugged in and they overclock normally if I try it. I undervolt them as much as possible tho. I'll try and learn more about it. Also I was running 16.1.1 drivers and when it crashed I would have to F8->safemode->DDU-> reinstall drivers - Or I just got a black screen after windows. When I switched to 16.4.2 I haven't had this issue after crashing. Maybe this will save you some time. I think the black screen was from afterburner. When it crashed (atiksysdag or machine_check) it would try and keep my high clock settings, but set the voltage and power% back to 0. So the cards would insta-crash. In safe mode I delete the afterburner profiles from folder. Then I can reboot without DDU.
