First of all i want to thank Eliovp for the sharing of knowledge and all the thread participants for the added infos.

I'm on the -175mV rom since 4 days now and all is fine but headless boot won't work.
I need to plug hdmi to monitor and it boots fine
at the moment i have two nanos on usb risers and one on motherboard, one 700W PSU
mobo is H81 Pro BTC and i'm booting lubuntu with claymore's on thumb usb

@Eliovp: i think i have read u have the same mobo and same cpu celeron g1840 did u have issues on headless booting?

also i'm on 312w reading on killawatt for mobo+3nanos with your stock -175mV rom audio and sata's disabled is that good? i thowght i'd go lower with 75watt for each nano i was expecting.

i'm going to try -200mV stock soon.

Thank you again Smiley

good mining to all.

You're very welcome!

Yup, headless booting is an issue as well, but i don't really need it tbh..

Should be around 75-80W per card. It is so over here Smiley

Anyhow, got a new rom, 1.5Mh speed increase per card for Ethereum at the same power usage Wink, in my case, that's 8Mh extra per rig which is a lot Wink

will release it soon!

Greetings!
Really curious how what did you do to the ROM to increase speed at the same wattage?
Increasing the core/mem clock will result in increase power usage, so I think something else?

The Rom drops the core and the memory voltage, without affecting the frequency. So for the same power, higher hash.
Has to be more than that.  Not all cards are equal, some can undervolt further than the rest.

Hello eveyone,

I'm very noob here, just a few question as I have read through the whole 19 pages already but wasn't able to find the answer. On the r9 390, I see that you guys have posted the maxim efficiency settings but I can't seem to find how much power each rig draws. For example what would a r9 390 x 6 rig draw on power and so forth.

Thank you for the time to read and answer this noob question!

I am running 5 sapphire 390x cards w/ backplate. Im using 1500axi and 750w runs board and 1 card. I usually go -75mv undervolt in case my miner stops. Sometimes if it stops with a heavy undervolt the rig crashes. My 4 on the 1500axi show 255 watts at stock settings 1080/1500 they get 30.2 Mh this way at 59-61C. You can juice them pretty high. At 330-350 watts I get 35-36Mh.

Is a there a rom for the xfx r9 390? I read that a few members where able to get 27.5 mh/s at 160 watts with the following settings .0977v 97x/1000mhz, was this achieved by just using trixx or a by a mod rom? Does the 97x mean 970 -979? Thank you for you help.

You have to use a BIOS mod to do that. Otherwise, you need to use the Trixx to reduce the voltage by 200 mV. But that will not get to 980 to 995 mV. 97x means 970 to 977.

Hawaii cards with high asic quality can have default bios with up to -100mV compared low asic quality cards.

160w needs 0.97 volts and 960/1000 clocks, hashrate is ~27MH by then. Best cards do that with -100mV.

Thank you Satlite and Antantti for both of your help. In your opinion which R9 390 brand has that high asic quality?

It is all random. For my XFX 390, the ASIC is from 62 to 79. Mostly in the middle. The difference of brand should not affect the ASIC.

True, it is one big lottery.

Japinat, what is your voltage on those 62 and 79 cards under load?

I haven't because I am happy with my 390`s @ -100mV. It is really easy though, just make sure you have cards with bios switch so you can always revert back if something goes wrong.

I have a few. For the same frequency, the voltage on the 62 is around 1.00V, the 79 is 0.945V for 972 MHz. So 5% voltage, 10% power difference.

They go that low? Worst XFX I have is 76, need to take another look at them...

I have the XFX 1000, 1015 and 1050 cards. It noticed that 1000MHz cards have highest proportion of high ASIC GPU, the 1050 is lowest.
