another thing that I don't like is the maximum number of coins. not everybody may agree with this but I think a huge number (5x what bitcoin has) will prevent any big price achievement, because there always will be more coins to dump (high supply vs low demand.)

The number of coins does not matter. If it has 100 million coins and the PoS interest is only 1% per year, it is still good enough.

Agreed, as I don't think Bitcoin has a lock on the ideal number of coins a cryptocurrency should issue. Not everyone thinks having a $400, or if BTC goes mainstream a $1,000, $10,000, per coin valuation is attractive to more casual users.

So simply using the excuse "too many coins" is not even an argument, as in reality, it does not matter as the valuation will ultimately settle around the demand for thee coin. If that valuation is 21 million coins at $1,000 each, or if that is 21 Billion coins at $1 each, it works out the same in the end.

Yes. The total market capitalization matters here. If Ethereum is limited to 100 million coins, and it has the same market cap as bitcoin, the price would be 20% of bitcoin's.

Doesn't a coin "cap" only give the illusion of "more value"?

If I have 100 useless things, they are worth nothing.
If I have 1.000.000.000.000.000 useful things, they would probably each still be worth more.

Look at FIAT, uncapped and Quantitative Easing everywhere (more money being printed) and it's still worth something because of it's usefullness.

IMO coin cap shouldn't be a real issue as long as it's adaptable by the masses and has a real intrinsic value while being used.

I'm still holding it even I only have 3pcs of it I still believe that eth will pump back a week ago it went to almost .03 so there's a big possibility that it will pump back and good opportunity to those who have that much money the price is affordable. good luck to us mate.

Im gonna hold as well, as I've diversified enough between BTC and ETH.
If it goes down to sub $1 it doesn't hurt that much.. I'm curious if we've already seen ATH of Ethereum or if this is a classic 'buy the dip'/'weed out the weak hands' scenario

Eth seems to be a good alt, but i would not buy it at current prices. I am positive the price will go back soon in a few weeks from where
I will start buying eth.

I'd say that the time of buying ethereum has come. It's $9 now and I think that it is only gonna rise from now on, it has fallen enough in last few days.

The price below $8 is quite good for the Ethereum. It is a unique coin and will be used a lot in the future.

I personally have sold all holdings of ETH and continue to mine it. We saw so much action in a short amount of time with ETH and it is IMHO bound for a major correction down to a range that is still profitable for mining. I think it will drop to .009 to .016 in the midterm and stabilize somewhere in that range for a while. Long term I am bullish on ETH but don't share the sentiment that it is going to kill bitcoin. I simply believe that the growth potential in this sector has yet to be realized fully.

If in doubt, my advice (to be taken with a grain of salt) is to hold bitcoin and use bitcoin.

bitcoin is much less safer than other altcoins such as Etheruem or Monero. But the latter has more potential.

Good alt or stay away?
it seemed so good in the beginning to me but after the excessive amount of spam and all the FUD that the ETH supporters spread about bitcoin just to get the pump going for their bags i kept my distance because i resented that and only used the first big rise to take some profit from the pump.

now i don't even look at ETH anymore.

If there is continuous development of the Etheruem platform, and more DApp appear, I think Eth has future.

As far as I can see, ethereum HAS a future. People & big companies are literally over-promoting it. Google the ethereum, you'll find heck of development details of it.
