Can Bitcoin be used for Good?

Something strange is happening to Bitcoin. Once viewed as a way to do business in the darkest corners of the web, the digital currency has rather suddenly become a favorite talking point among humanitarians and international development enthusiasts.

Bitcoin isn’t just for illicit transactions or Internet hobbyists anymore, but for helping the poor, the downtrodden, and the unbanked.

Perhaps Bitcoin can save them! Perhaps Bitcoin can save the world!

Regardless of whether this attitude is realistic—and more on that in a minute—the people focused on demonstrating the social benefits of Bitcoin are challenging existing narratives about the cryptocurrency. While early commentary focused on how Bitcoin might be used to buy drugs online, or for sending money without a paper trail; the social-good argument suggests that these uses were simply the first use-cases in which Bitcoin’s utility became apparent. But there are billions of other potential use. There are, for example, people who face significant obstacles in operating within the formal banking system—and these folks look very different from the shadowy hackers that tend to be seen as the prototypical Bitcoin user. They could be low-wage migrant workers sending money back home to their families, for example, or activists receiving money from abroad during tumultuous times.

Just like fiat currency it can be used for good or it can be used illegally depending on the motive of the user. Bitcoin has done many good things to me I have earned sufficient  satoshi and it helped me to earn from sites but it also have done bad things such as being a victim to a scammer. Bitcoins is both good and evil he should be both good and bad

I do not use bitcoin for anyting bad. I use it to buy computers and graphics cards to do some mining.

I also do not use Bitcoin for anything bad, I am here to buy Bitcoin when the price is low and sell them when the price is high.
There is nothing bad about that, I do not that some people use it for negative things but that is there problem.

The amount of people who use Bitcoin for bad, at this point, are probably a very small minority and the others have more than likely already moved on to other forms of payment, such as other altcoins or maybe even back to conventional systems such as cash or hidden/shadow bank accounts. I personally have no idea what they do.

Bitcoin is much more use for good thing than use it for illegal me my self love bitcoin for many ways for easy send and receiving money and used it for online stores  . And I don't want it to use for bad things likes cheating scamming other money or used it on illegal .

It is indeed true, I see all the people that are in this forum definitely using bitcoin with a good way. but there are some people there also are doing is illegal and detrimental to others (cheating). This is a reasonable thing done by everyone. I'm sure the future of bitcoin will getting better and we will benefit greatly

Well, just like me. I do not use bitcoin for something evil. Well I am pretty sure quite a lot of people who take advantage of the bitcoin to use it in a bad way. but I only use it for business purposes. I guess it's better to use bitcoin for anything better than to something bad because I believe it could make you feel better

We can use Bitcoin for both, good or evil.
But, we can't say that Bitcoin itself is good or bad because some people will use Bitcoin for good purpose and some for bad purpose.
People can be good or bad, not bitcoin.
It's important to understand it.
We know that, for example, criminals use guns in order to do something evil bit also cops and military use guns in order to protect their country and save people's life.
We can't change Bitcoin but should try to educate and change people.

Bitcoin is digital money. You can use it for many good things. Donate for charity institutions, can do online payments and online purchases. Few stores accept bitcoin, in future we can see more.

Well bitcoin has the same property as USD, so it can be used as currency.  We know as currency it can be use for good things.  You can use it to donate to charity institution.  Buy your kid with toys that they wish.  Buy yourself some food supplement from online store that accept Bitcoin to maintain your good health.  So Bitcoin can function the same function as money in using for good.

Till now i used bitcoins to buy some peripherals like computer parts and also bought some goods in amazon also. Some time i used to do recharges also.BTC

Buying physical stuff online is a bit risky if you don't deal through escrow so until now I haven't tried to buy anything online.
But once I have bought physical goods with bitcoin but locally and the amount was small.

Bitcoin can be used for good and bad. It is just a currency. It has become a good deed among many people. Some leave a negative statement about btc in threads. People who are here in this forum for a long time, will never talk anything bad about BTC.

If there is good,Bad is the opposite of it..As much as we can lets use bitcoins for good ways, But in reality some of the bitcoin enthusiast are selfish, I'm not saying all, there are few I think here they using it in illegal activities.
