Can Bitcoin be used for Good?

bitcoin is a double edged sword on one hand using it provides security on the internet since no one can trace you down and on the other hand it provides a big opportunity for hackers and black market dealers that use it for selling drugs and other illegal stuff since it provides anonymity,but it all depends on the person that is using it

The bitcoin is not totally anonymous. It is pseudo anonymous. So you can be traced by using the bitcoin.

That is true. As the trail can't be destroyed in blockchain, the user can be tracked back with varying levels of ease. However, if the user mixes his coins, then it takes a lot of time and effort to track him (an example is Tomáš Jiřikovský, the Sheep Marketplace thief).

Nowadays, mixing service is very popular especially when you are doing an illegal activities. True, you can trace the bitcoin address for the transaction but it's hard to determine who are the people transacting. It's the benefits of using bitcoin but we do not need to abuse it as it might not give us a good benefits.

We can't even stop those people who are abusing bitcoin for real. Because they are loving the way they use bitcoin for their bad plans and doings. But let's just forget those people who are involved to such activities and instead of talking about them, let's just all together work for the good of bitcoin and use it for our own good and needs.

Yes, in fact bitcoin is use for good purpose only but still there may be some people who are using it for illegal activities or purposes but mostly we can see that people use bitcoin for fulfilling their daily needs like shopping etc, so most of the people are using it for good purposes.
By considering the potential of bitcoin, it may serve serve human for a better life but only if we start innovating new ideas.

Why not, why can't it be used for good? We have even had Bitcoin donated for charity cause example is "Bitcoin 100 which has run its cause". In a world there will be people who are good and some who are naturally bad and Bitcoin is a tool since its money and can be used to achieve any of the objectives depending on whose hands it found itself.

Yeah there is no forever in everything in this planet. Everything will have it's own end in time. But for bitcoin, as long as many people are using it, and many are still adopting it, then I can say that it will continue till for the years to come. Who knows, in time, it can be a standard currency that will be used around the world.

I really doubt that bitcoin will stop being used, considering the fast spreading in usage and the price going up but when the quantum computers come, bitcoin is doomed pretty much.

It can be use for good as the main purpose of bitcoin actually is for the good of the people, you cannot control those people who are making bad activities using bitcoin because they have the freedom to spend their bitcoins on the way they want, but the question is not even the right question IMO as you are indirectly accusing bitcoin that it is solely use for illegal or bad activities.

The chain is there, it might last but it's worthless without the support of the people. What makes bitcoin valuable now is because of the people who are supporting it (you, me, & they), if we will stop and bitcoin loses it's popularity bitcoin will die and our coins will be worthless.

It can for sure. I don't think Bitcoin was meant to be used for crimes or illegal transactions - that's probably just what some criminals thought of after it's been launched and became popular. Bitcoin can be profitable through mining, so you don't need to complete illegal transactions in order to get your profit with it. I'm using it for good reasons and I always did..

It's true as bitcoin is widely use in the dark market so we still have no problem with that. But I am still not convince why bitcoin will be ban by the government when they are benefiting from the system, they can collect money as many business will be created since people who can use bitcoin will be attract to shop online or transact online due to  lower charges or almost free.

At the very beginning it was SilkRoad that more than successfully was operating with solely Bitcoin as form of payment. I personally see it as a great example of how well Bitcoin's currency aspect is functioning. And yes, I know that the majority of the trades where related to illegal goods, but for me it wasn't a problem at all. That's however not the case for non Bitcoiners. They see dark markets as the center of what Bitcoin as currency is being used for. Some even label Bitcoin as the currency of the underworld. Ridiculous of course, but the media has done it's job more than well when it comes to brainwashing people.

It doesn't really matter how profitable Bitcoin is. It's money with great features where you also enjoy some sort of anonymity. We must blame people for their usage of Bitcoin, and not Bitcoin itself. If you look at how many horrible things are being done with fiat, and that barely anyone blames fiat for it, then why should you blame Bitcoin? Doesn't make any sense.

Sure in the end the people that have bitcoin will choose where they wanna to invest their bitcoins, no one has bitcoin as a item to collect and give to next generation of the family. Bitcoin has a two face as the fiat, can be used for normal things as to use the dark marketplaces, even knowing  media has made a huge effort to connect bitcoin only to the dark side of any currencie.

I wouldn't use "they" as that is just one guy and he's not a representative of all the homeless people in the world. Look at the sign, it's not the original sign that he's using. Someone must've put it there to put the photo on the internet and get some attention. Probably put it there just for the sake of fun. Personally, I haven't seen a homeless person have a phone, let alone a smartphone. They don't have the money to buy one and even if someone gives them a phone, they don't know how to use it and they don't have a place to charge it. It would just be a waste.

   Using bitcoin for good or evil depends from us, I use it for good, but its fact about scammers around.
   Other currency are good presenter of bitcoin future, it will be same some people are always using things in evil purposes, that will be same with bitcoins.

Good definition, As i understand that Benefits for other especially for poor people. But in my view, bitcoin really help us if anyone poor or not but still bitcoin will be used for good for us and others. So we should accept it, bitcoin is a good way of earning, When anyone know about the bitcoin, than definitely he use it.

It depends on the users, a lot of people think bitcoin can be used for "money laundering" so many governments that prohibit bitcoin. It also can be used to buying and sell illegal stuff, of course it's not wrong bitcoin but from users.
