It would be nice if the active members of the community published useful information here. And do not just go, look ...
Briefly ...
- It's complicated.
- CC released a commit that added checkpoints, but staking and mining can still lead to forking.
- I didn't fully understand the cause of this, even though he mentioned it at some point.
- He's currently working to implement a "full" fix.
- Conclusion is: Wait for the fix, then you need to resync or get the bootstrap files if you have opened your wallet after Nov 1st.
Many thanks! It's nice when someone cares about the project. 1) Timing indicate? (I would like it to be in no hurry and release a confident working version) 2) Will there be a new plug? or just update the client without changing the protocol?

1) Should be within the next few days I think. 2) I don't know what you mean by "plug". There will be a new client update that will prevent further forking for now (and solve whatever the problem was, I'm not sure about that). It will not bring a further hardfork with it, but upgrading will still be necessary if you want to mine or forge.

To get the actual chain (windows): 1) Backup Wallet 2) Close Wallet 2) Download and copy the new Bootstrap to your ESP folder in 'user/appdata/roaming': https://mega.nz/#!lo0XATQR!VrztrfbX5fcW7jt0xcWNB-RgA7Ke992wa1sMdV2q6_I3) Open the Espers.conf file with an editor and replace all lines 'addnode=...' with the following https://www.novaexchange.com/addnodes/ESP2(copy and paste). 4) Open the Wallet and let it sync... you should also disable stakeing in the settings until the next update is released or close the wallet when syncing is done. 5) You should now be on the right chain Check it on: https://stats.espers.io/If you want to wait instead, you can do so. As far as i understood the next version of the wallet will have a booststrap inccuded to ensure everyone is on the same chain.

Okay, diff is kind of higher and that i did not get a prevent all early morning, so I'm environment my server to simply my own at off-peak times. Less expensive electric rates during the night. Still fun mining.

Still fun mining.
No fun mining if you're trying to stake ESP. I still get dozens of orphans and no actual reward in 24 hours; something has to be done about this (I am running the latest wallet, with the bootstrap reloaded).

To all of you who are still wondering what is going on, you should really check into Discord... most things are explained there, and CC also logged in yesterday and explained the problem and his plan to solve it.
Currently there are a lot of branches in the chain, so if your wallet and the exchange are on different forks, then they won't be able to send transactions between each other. But chances are good that your funds are not lost, as long as the private key used for receiving is safe, as it will be valid in all branches, including the one that will be selected finally.
I would but I got banned for saying poswallet was delisting espers. Anyways, looks like nova's wallet is on the wrong chain now. Fun times.

As has been said several times here and on Discord, you should not try to stake until the forking problems have been solved. When would be the coins from the free gift likely to be distributed?
WTF happens here the last days/weeks? I have no f*ing idea, lol. Oh btw., when will the ICO end? Just thinking, uhm maybe it would be cool to have a cryptocurrency forum that requires a fee to register? Like $50 USD, so that spammers and idiots will have to stay out.

Couple of questions:
1) can I try to export you priv key from windows and import back on the mac client. ? 2) IS there a downloadable mac bootstrap that can be used to speed up the sync ?

Not sure, a few friends are having a similar issue - sent coins are showing as gone from the wallet, not showing on the block explorer at all and not showing up on nova (?) which is where I believe they sent them. Not really sure how to fix that issue if the wallet repair doesn't work

Some previous posts work for generic issues as in getting to the correct chain - doesn't fix alot of the super specific problems though.

Not really sure how to fix that issue if the wallet repair doesn't work But I not sent my coins anywhere. I see all it here https://espv2.miningalts.com/ but not see it in the wallet. I did next: 1. Download a new wallet from https://espers.io/download/wallet/windows/Espers-qt-v0.8.6.9.zip2. Download blockchain/bootstrap from https://espers.io/download/bootstrap/windows/Espers_Blockchain_702121.zip3. Move all old files from ESP dir to the other dir 4. Copy a new files to ESP dir 5. Copy my wallet.dat to ESP dir 6. Copy Espers.conf to ESP dir Espers.conf is: listen=1 server=1 maxconnections=500 rpcuser=123 rpcpassword=123 port=22448 rpcport=22442 rpcconnect=127.0.0.1 addnode=173.212.230.232:22448 addnode=185.223.30.2:22448 addnode=80.211.205.233:22448 addnode=[2001:0:9d38:90d7:30ff:226:ab96:fb52]:22448 addnode=185.167.206.44:22448 addnode=[2001:0:9d38:6abd:3c90:322f:2ba7:12ae]:22448 addnode=[2a01:e34:ed76:9520:c1f1:dcfa:1331:fa28]:22448 After that I run a new wallet I see lost 5000k my coins but I see it in the block explorer https://espv2.miningalts.com/Why did it happen? Why did it happen? How can I return lost my coins?
close your wallet, right click on the wallet icon, create shortcut then right click on the shortcut you just made and go to properties in the properties section, in the "Target" box, go to the end of the string (outsided of the parenthesis if there are any) and add this: -rescan click on apply, and then okay then open your wallet with the shortcut you only have to do this once This will take a bit of time since the chain is pretty big, but at the end your wallet should have all your transactions and missing funds show up.
