Yes I got scammed out of around 60 dollars worth of Bitcoin. Never send first even if you have done several trades with the person.
How did you loose it? Did you get scammed on this forum or somewhere else? As even there are many escrows who are turning out to be scam so its not worth to trust anyone.

I'm guessing it may possibly be from ponzi schemes. It's a shame that much has been gone to where it shouldn't have been. I too have lost coins. Although I willingly let myself lose as I was just having fun testing out a lot of casino games and I think it was worth it since I actually had fun.

So basically that is your fault for trusting someone and not using an escrow for the deal. As you said never to trust anyone even if you have already done some trades with him before because we never know what there intentions are so better to just use an escrow for the trades in this forum.

Something that is very sad, this may have occurred because it is too open or of someone who has known to us even though they have a good reputation, it's not something a guarantee. because we can't see exactly how the real face of those who do so. escrow is indeed very advisable, therefore, to minimize it

I've only known bitcoin for about 10-11 months.. I earned from faucets religiously, only to lose 90% of them to Cldmine, Topmine and Hashocean. Still hurts till now.
P.S: Anyone got any idea of trustworthy faucets?
I lost my BTC in cloudmining in hashocean to be specific and I am still having a problem with that 0.02 BTC however life goes on. If you are looking for trustworthy faucets have you ever tried https://freebitco.in/ I have heard that it is really paying.

Using escrow is recommended when you have a transaction with another user but remember to transact with little amounts of bitcoin only because even those escrows is not trustable if you transact large amounts of bitcoin for sure they would turn out to scam, im not generalizing all goo escrows out there but im just explaining the possiblities or it already happen.

Yes- it was totally my fault. My hard disk drive died and I had no wallet backup. It was only about $15 USD at the time. Overall, a valuable lesson.

Just go to Investor Based Games and for sure if you invested in any of the ponzi sites being promoted there you will loose Bitcoins, as a newbie before I invested in those kind of sites like scrypt.cc, cloudminr.io and ore-mine and all of them turned out to a SCAM so I lost some Bitcoins. My fault, stupidy + greed = scammed

I lost bitcoin on gambling, card games and roulette. Fortunately I have earned money from texas holdem, I like it very much, I will join WSOP 2017 and win money.

I've lost some bitcoins from HYIP sites when I was still a newbie. I know that they call it a "ponzi" site but I didn't know what does ponzi actually means. Sometimes I search for the HYIP site I'm investing in and it redirects into this forum and everybody's like "Ohh, that's a ponzi." It was after I've lost bitcoins when I searched and fully understood what does 'ponzi' means.

I lost bitcoin because i was scammed by those cloudmining site like hashocean, i almost invested 4btc with that mining site it pays well in a few months and then before halving it turns out to be a scam which is very unlucky since i only got 1/2 of my investment but its better than get zero at all. Its all my fault since i was amazed in their payment terms which is good but it goes scam and not only me, many investors are being scammed by that site.

It's true, greed does get in the way of a lot of people new to Bitcoin and it does have some people get scammed on their way to being more actively involved with the community. I'm actually kind of curious as to how many people stop using Bitcoin after they get scammed for the first time to be honest. It feels like it should be a considerable number, but there isn't any evidence to point one way or the other.
