Steam is accepting the bitcoin and that is good indeed but the fact is also that a lot of people still need to find this out.
The most do not even know this.

Give it some time, I am sure that it will grow on a big scale. A lot of steam users will use it because of the lower transaction fees. This will bring a big change

Not only that, popularity of BTC will surely increase, very beneficial for us, as the currency of BTC can yet increase to a bigger price. More is definitely better for us and for them. Wink

A google will take their ignorance away. All things you must know is on google as long as you have the keyword it's now easy to gather the information.

i think not,the news about bitcoin halving is not that loud, steam just figured out some BTC API which can exchange the BTC to fiat directly so there's no problem against the bitcoin fluctuating characteristic

Of course people will be happy with it but it are still normal prices on steam itself and here on the forum there are cheaper, due to this I do not think it will affect the market here at all.

This is the time where I feel that my bitcoin will be worth it on selected steam sale. Can even give my friends a CSGO as it is only $5 each here. Grin

I will keep BTC right now, and pay for flait money, not for BTC, but its nice to see steam accept BTC now, and i ofc hope there will coming more companys to accept it.

If we have more comapnys to support BTC its probly preasure the price higher and its good for all ^^

I don't think it will have a big impact. The problem with dealing directly with steam is that your money is logged in the steam wallet. You are unable to withdraw funds from steam and officially you are not allowed to sell your steam account. No real chance of getting your money back.

Most of the time it makes sense to buy games via external sites and just activate them in steam. These external game Stores already accept bitcoins.

Looks like steam is finally going to accept bitcoin!!!!

http://cointelegraph.com/news/steam-to-accept-payments-via-bitcoin-in-its-next-update

Curious if that will affect the people selling games on the bitcoin talk? And the various other websites you can buy steam at.

I dont think so since people on the forum usually buy bundles for example 4 copies of the same game or buy 4 and a 5th free so that's 20% profit if they sell them one by one instead. Well a bit less then 20% because it must be attractive to the customer otherwise they rather get it from steam. Also maybe there is a sale on games in a store in a country and these people buy lots of games and sell the cdkeys online at discounted price. Last year for example they sold call of duty black ops 2 at a little bit less then half price so someone could buy and sell them online and make a good profit.

Steam accepting BTC is awesome. Its been a while since it kicked off, and every purchase I have made was with Bitcoin since they started accepting payments.I remember seeing games I want on sale and having to quickly find someone to buy it from. I also used to sell them on Reddit for Dogecoin.

No this will not affect the market of the bitcoin digital good market because steam is way more expensive.
Another thing is that people have to still find this out.

I see this as a big win too.
Young people into bitcoin
Young people into games.
Now they can use their favourite currency to buy for their favourite games. It will affect the goodwill of bitcoin but not so much volume, at least not in the beginning.

That is right. But if the Steam offer discount for the gamer to pay with bitcoin, it will encourage the usage of bitcoin.

I cannot believe this.
They would be probably afraid of money laundering,i still cannot accept the fact that Steam is really going to accept btc
If they will really,im going to buy a shitton of games, lol

Well this is already a long time ago almost few months ago that they are already accepting bitcoins at all.
They are just getting into the trend and they can just see the potential of bitcoins at all.

I dont think that steam accepting bitcoins may change something here for real.
We can see probably less games sold for bitcoin's but that is probably all what can change here.

Yeah. steam games their selves are very expensive. but when steam re-sellers sell games and steam account in digital good section and marketplace sections their rates are pretty decent and also cheap.
GTA V available in steam for 40$. but in the good section I saw some users selling it for half and even less then half price.
so I don't think accepting bitcoin of steam account effect bitcoin digital good market.

When I buy some AMD graphics cards, I get some "free" game codes. So I sell them very cheaply. It is extra bonus to me any way.

Pretty nice, but it wont affect the forum market for let's say electronics.
But as i have already noticed, there are not many people here selling let's say video games,so steam accepting btc probably wont affect forum much.
