I saw on X last night that Southgate is the highest paid manager in the tournament, earning £5,000,000 a year. He does not have the credentials to justify that, the guy has done nothing in management to deserve that kind of salary.

I dont know how much money other managers are earning, but with England having team with best players in a long time they should perform better and score more goals.
Two scored goals in two games is nothing and when they score a goal like they stop thinking about attacking and scoring more.
Maybe manager is responsible or there are other hidden problems in team.

Every time I see England's performance, it seems absurd that with such a luxurious squad they cannot perform well. However, this is something we usually see when England doesn't play with their luxurious squad. In fact, they never lack quality players, but they often appear disappointing.
Southgate, this man. I doubt his ability to formulate a strategy that he can implement. Even in the group stage match, I think he made a mistake when making a substitution. Instead, he replaced players who played well with players who didn't even perform well.

From the results of the matches played by the England national team, I think England escaped because of luck, the attack was too passive, I was disappointed to see England's performance under Gareth Southgate, this was really not a good performance for the England national team, as a coach Southgate could not really maximize his star players, in the last 16 later if England wants to qualify there must be a change of tactics, otherwise Southgate's career will be threatened.

Greece was a surprising revelation at the EURO 2004 championship. It happens very rarely when an outsider team wins a high level tournament. I think Turkey will not be able to win this European Championship. It is quite rare for an underdog team to win the championship, so I would not bet on Turkey winning Euro 2024. The most they can do is reach the quarterfinals.

I think France will beat Belgium easily even with how much they are struggling to score a goal .For me the main favoritesto win the Euros is Spain for sure. They are probobly looking the best so far and how they play i dont see anyone stopping them. Turkey can go a long way but really a hard match up for them.

I think here we can mostly agree that the coach is the main problem for England in this UERO, because the players they have are very good, but the coach cannot implement an effective strategy that can make them play even better. They were still lucky to qualify from the group stage.
We'll see what Southgate can do in this round against Slovakia, whether he can play better or not. You are right that it is too late now for England, the only thing is that they have to hope that Southgate can change their performance for the better.
With the existing players he shouldn't have any difficulties, but it seems like he doesn't know the character of his players well, so he failed to create the right mix for England.
