I really can't believe this Watford team, they have the talent to beat Liverpool and not just beat them but destroy them with 3-0 and then they go ahead and lose to Crystal Palace who barely played a semi-decent game against them. In the end I seriously imagined they would beat and get away from the regulation zone but now that they are at 27 points in 29 games (seriously how could you not get 1 points per game) Aston Villa has a higher chance, they are only 2 points behind but 2 games behind as well which is potential of 6 points, if they get even just one win from that they will be ahead. If nothing else, Watford should look to have a really good defensive game from now on to at least get some draws in order to gain some points because it is once again looking very scary.

Seems that United will win today the Manchester Derby and will make 2-0 on head2head games this season. I wonder what is going on with City as they don't look that they want to play football or to win today as they played good only the first 15minutes of the game.

I think 2nd half will bring at least 2goals with a small chance that United will score both.

I do remember when Hamburg were in Champions League, and weren't they the club with a nice giant clock at some point, counting the days they had remained in top flight as a founding member, since they never went down? Of course, they got relegated so this is football, and all the cycles we live through. St Pauli must have loved it when that clock got taken down!

I'm still counting myself lucky to see Liverpool at the top in my lifetime!

Watford have got some explaining to do, damn it. They have the game of their lives & beat us 3-0 last weekend which was our first loss in over a year. They then go & lose to a fucking Roy Hodgson managed Crystal Palace.

 

That's football for you, isn't it? We always seem to have a spoiler team. Watford can sing about the game for weeks, how they killed club champions of Europe and the World. Definitely want them to stay up, so we can exact revenge

Now it's only two match for us and we are the champions.

Yes, until their relegation to 2. Bundesliga two years ago, they were the only founding member of Bundesliga that never relegated - Bayern only promoted for 1965/1966 season - and the clock was displaying the time they spent in Bundesliga. In fact, since the club was founded in 1887, they always played in the highest german division (Bundesliga started only in 1963).

Apart from a few successful years with CL participation, they didn't win any title since 1987, when they won the german cup. The only title they had all the years and the fans could brag about, was being the dinosaur of Bundesliga. All fans from the other clubs hated that clock, but it really was the only thing the Hamburg fans could be proud of through many years. A lot of mismanagement ruined the club and its finances, though it belongs in Top5 in Germany, if you just look at the potential/capabilities.

After the relegation the clock was switched to show the time since the club was founded (September 29th 1887), but one year later it was completely taken off and now shows the GPS data of the stadium.

Yes, one goal down heading in the second leg would mean a 2-0 win is needed. I think they have a high chance of advancing in the quarters knowing that its scary to face Liverpool in Anfield.

Also next week Watford seems like a good bet as they face Leicester currently with 2 consecutive losses.

If Atletico Madrid score first Liverpool could be in trouble but I still think with the power of a home crowd they should advance to the next round. I think the captain Henderson is back which will be a big positive.

My prediction is 3-1 to Liverpool in the 2nd leg which would be 3-2 on aggregate.

25 point lead, and only two wins away from sealing the deal.  It's been a great season for LFC, and it could be over by March 21st.  I too am rooting for them to take the UCL, they should have no trouble scoring two this Wednesday.

@ty yeah, that is such an interesting piece of history and it really goes to show the ebb and flow of football fortunes. I'm Liverpool so like LFC_Bitcoin, this will be the first time we witness us lifting the division's top trophy. I was a bit older than LFC when we last won it, but was a defender in my school team, never knew football existed outside of my town, let alone knew anything about England or Liverpool!

@Dire I loved it too, they've (Utd) won me a lot of bets this season too, that's three now against city, and it's extra sweet to celebrate their win when it's what, fighting for 5th place haha. All kinds of payback for years of misery.

Imagine if not for the 2 week winter break, we could have had this wrapped up early March!

It is really sad whenever a big event is cancelled but I think the life of a lot of persons are much more worthy that we have to do some sacrifices during these times of the virus which is being spread like crazy.I think we also didn’t have any F1 race this weekend which is usually the date when it starts because of the same reason I believe.

Yes,,, that is too bad, and the same even for football in Italy where so many games have been postponed, plus even some played behind closed doors with fans not allowed to come to the stadium for fears of the spread.

Did not imagine it would get this bad in Europe, but hopefully now the weather is getting warmer for spring,,, people are less likely to get very ill.

Most probably I think the international Olympic committee is also watching this closely along with Japan they may wait till May whether the climate change will decrease the rate of spread for the Olympics games but at last, nothing is more important than the human life.

I guess we all will need to find out how we can cope with this corona virus hitting on sports, there is really not that much we can do about it and tons of stuff is getting postponed, delayed or straight up cancelled. I really hoped it would be gone by spring but we are 10 days in and nothing has changed so far, hopefully in the next month or so it will be gone forever and we will not see anyone dying anymore thanks to heat killing the germs.

This was just a simple "evolved flu" type of virus, why did it killed so many people and infected so many people I will not know but why did it created such a big chaos when there are tons of people dying every single day for other reasons that we should be worried about. Lets hope sports world will go back to normal but it is getting to end of the season for many like soccer and basketball, I hope it will end by April so we can finish strong.

One of my favorite sports to follow, Motogp has cancelled it's top tier riders' race that was supposed to be held yesterday in Dubai.  They let the two lower tier riders race, but the stands were empty.  The event that was scheduled for Thailand later this month has been cancelled all together.  The next even will be held in Texas, and so far no closure notice has been issued.  I was planning to take a flight to Arizona and meet up with a buddy, and road-trip to Texas from there.  I'm reluctant to buy the plane tickets now.  Not sure if the event will be cancelled, and I likely won't be refunded for the flight.

I was supposed to be flying to Germany today to visit a vendor of ours, but the vendor cancelled the event due to fears of Covid-19.  I'm actually a bit relieved about that, I have no anxiety about flying, but being in confined quarters with a bunch of sickos does make me a bit paranoid.

Don't know if you guys watch tennis, but Indian Wells have been cancelled due to corona virus. Is this the first major event which has been completely cancelled?
