He wanted to leave and I like the Pep idea of not holding on to players that want to leave. Their mistake was not buying a replacement after selling him and thinking the team will just adjust to the gap left.

I got some free-bets fro BSFL and used them on tonight's UCL games. I did not feel confident to back Arsenal so I went for a draw. I really hope to be wrong and we visit Madrid with a win.

As much as I wanted them to win, I really did not trust that they would. I wanted to go for a double chance, but the odd was 1.22, so I went with the more attractive option of a draw. It was my hedge, so I will have something to cheer whatever the outcome was. I could have went with a Madrid win, but if we lost it would have been no consolation to win a bet.

Yes, I can understand that, because it is impossible if they knew what would happen in the future, they would do something that would harm them. But they did not know that something like this would happen, on the other hand, players must also have their own desires if their position in a team is not the main one, they must look for a team that can give them the main place. I'm sure everyone was all over PSG and Barcelona to win comfortably today, the obvious play.

Adding that one extra leg to my parlay though  , totally not worth the sweat.  I mean, Portsmouth have been woeful away from home all season, with the second-worst away record and the worst defense (in terms of goals conceded) before today's matches.  Man, was that lucky or what?! Barcelona had an easy win but PSG got trouble with Aston Villa and let this guest scored first. Eventually Barcelona and PSG both finished their first leg matches in quarter final with big wins and took great advantage for going to semi finals.

I don't think that was the only problem. They fell into the same trap of other teams, not building a fresh squad, and allowing too many players to get complacent. Alvarez is one but they sold many good academy players who are now peak in other teams.

Manchester United well an even worse story, buying expensive talent who are in the low periods of their life. And a club who only care about profit.
