still no email sign up... will it happen in the near future?
I don't know what Steemit Inc. plans to do for signup options. They are giving away money (minimum 10 Steem to open an account) so they have to be careful to protect against abuse. I'll offer another signup option here for bitcointalk forum members: If I know you and have interacted with you: free Hero/Legendary: free Sr.: 1 USD Full: 2 USD Any: 5 USD Payment in advance and can be made in any top 10 crypto. You will receive a new account with up to 10 powered up Steem. Powered up Steem gives you access to the network (bandwidth), voting power, and earns interest. It can't be powered down (converted to liquid Steem that can be traded on an exchange) until you reach 10x the minimum account balance (currently 10 Steem). Powering down, when possible, is 1/104 of the balance per week. PM me to get your account. Steemit linkI can only speak forward for this service ! went perfectly

so the same guy behind BTS abandoned it, and now trying to make money on a new coin? seem suspecious to me
so far it is my understanding! No I'm definately not a cheerleader, I don't like the way they launched. I still believe it has potential, so I've bought a few Bitcoin worth on Bittex. Nobody abandoned BitShares. Unlike all the centralized development teams, BitShares worked more like a Dao (before The Dao was cool). Any developer in BitShares could make a proposal and ask for funding from the community with voting.

In case the context is unclear, that indicates he was mining during the PoW phase.

have somewhat a naive question, or three rather
1. did POW which rewarded miners with STEEM ended ? 2. if true to the above, can current POW that rewards miners with VEST be converted to STEEM ? 3. if false to the above, when VEST and how can be traded on an exchange (by itself) or converted to STEEM?
all in all I am in general a long term oriented so don't mind be locked with VEST and then converted to something that can be redeemed not even the whole amount but a % of
thanks in advance! (+ great project you are rewiring in a revolutionary way, content creation/distribution and reward, quite amazing)

Yes that was only during the pure PoW phase. 2. if true to the above, can current POW that rewards miners with VEST be converted to STEEM ? Yes but conversions are only 1/104 per week. It is probably best to mine to increase your Steam power (formerly known as VESTS) if you intend to use the system. But you can mine, convert, and sell if you really want to.

Yes the CLI wallet comes with the source code that you need to build in order to mine. The withdraw_vesting command is what you are looking for. Once you initiate the withdraw, you will get a 1/104 payment every week, and it can be canceled at any time. The amount of the payments is fixed at the time of the request. It is also possible to use the power down button on the web site to do the same thing.

thanks!, now that I know it is possible (to covert to something that one can liquidate) I will just concentrate on collection and learning the system, imagine if a social media network (of a new generation) could have that system pre-wired in have a great a Sunday!

Something is being tested right now, it would be nice if it gets added to the code later on. I know for a fact the developers are working at a fast pace introducing new features which you can see live on the website. The biggest payout of Steem for content is on July 4 th, there is plenty of time to get paid for steemit social media posts. After that payment for content will be auto-rewarded weekly by the Steemit block chain. * You can create your account now and get 3$ worth of STEEM just for registering.

I really think the whole design needs to be reworked. Can't believe it looks worse than reddit and they have a 5 year old design.
