That would be over 4 million dollar.

My aim is 2 million dollar in bitcoin at the time i reach it,
and then only hold it and sell only the coins that i need for life after i go to retire.  Smiley

If the monthly interest on your corpus is sufficient for your expenses, you can retire.
That again depends on the prevailing interest rate in your country and standard of living.

Getting retire early is everyone's dream but it is not what the government wants. If you have a big population but only a small working force, the country will be in big trouble... Therefore, the government will do all they can to make early retirement difficult to achieve.

Having said that I guess I will need (now) at least $1,000,000 in cash plus mortgage all repaid, before I can retire. Who knows how much $1 million will worth in 10 years time?

100BTC or even 50BTC is enough for me to quit my real job, then I can build my own real business and earn profit with it but I think it will hard to forget bitcoin so I will still trade bitcoin.

I want to retire as a rich man, but that would really take a lot of hard work and discipline on my part. If I can't be rich, I'd try to save as much as I can so I can live comfortably in my twilight years, not having to worry about my medical needs, my daily living expenses, all the while still able to do things I enjoy. In my country, even half a million US dollars is huge and enough to provide for my retired life. What I'd do is invest most of it in a safe investment that yields about 5-10% annual interest, the interest in which I'm going to use for my everyday expenses.

wow that's cool, but it's too much for me. I don't think how much bitcoin I want to own and retire. As long as I can earn bitcoin, I will not retire.

problem is you cannot retire on bitcoin alone at this time

question i ask more is

when possible and if you have enough (this excludes the dreamers)
how much BTC would you cash out to fiat when timing is right
to put into something like property

so you can retire

to be able to retire you need to be secure,
which means you would not have all your eggs in one basket.
(only an idiot would think otherwise)

to retire on BTC,
the price of BTC x The amount of BTC you hold, needs to increase much more than your living expenses
(literally double to break even)

if you spend just $2000 a month to live (which is now and not include inflation later)
and you hold 2000 BTC
they would need to increase by $2 each month minimum, every month
so you can cashout $2000, and the remaining amount left has the same value (in USD)

if you look at charts this small increase is not guaranteed each month, so you would still need to be quite active to ensure you withdraw at right times, which then stops you retiring, and at current rate 2000 BTC is $900,000

now you could cashout $450,000 (1000 BTC) and invest that in property with a 7-10% return each year
(in contract when buying new built property in some parts in Asia, PM me if you want details)
this would give you $45,000 a year return

so question is at what point is it worth cashing out some BTC to diversify your wealth and make solid investments so you can retire.

100BTC wont last 2 minutes for retirement
$45,000 is nothing these days, even if you already have a house and car paid for, it wont last long at all.

you will be surprised how little that amount is these days, and wont last 2 minutes to setup any type of business,
you would not even be able to buy the property for your business at those amounts

500 BTC would be a retirement for me , with that amount I can buy a shop and give it for rent, getting out of it 1000 Euro per month, I can live comfortably with this amount,  but the problem is making 500 BTC is not easy at all ,if not almost impossible. Maybe I am doing a big error these days converting Bitcoin to FIAT and building up my bank account, really I hope to not be the second pizza history of bitcoin after 2-3 years if its price skyrockets, but I have not 10.000 BTC thats for sure.

there is no end to humans ambition!
so it doesn't matter how much bitcoin (money) you have, you will always want more. besides doing things like trading is not that hard you can only reduce the amount of time you spend and take less risks if you have hit your goal and still continue doing it.

I personally think maybe 5000 bitcoin to have can make retire and start enjoying my life with my family placing it in a good and lasting investment would let me stop trading and gain alone with my monthly earnings with this good investment maybe forex or building a small stores can make me good in the long run, i'm just hoping that i can be able to achieve it while doing my best and learning more in terms of crypto world.

i would not retire because it would be boring as hell. you have to do something. why are Bill Gates and Elon Musk still working 15 hours a day?  just think about it some more.
