Yep, I think at 1000BTC, like so many of us, I would reckon that I have enough and can just focus on hoarding and some occasional trading to make ends meet

I will never go all in on bitcoin, even when it comes to a point that it has become stable. Although I wish to have about a thousand bitcoins, I would surely exchange majority of it to fiat when I reach my retirement years. I wouldn't bother myself too much about worrying about bitcoins by then and would just leave a few to my kids and let them do what they think would make their holdings grow.

How many bitcoins you would must have that you can go to retire?
What would be your point, that you would say i go and quite my real life job and i dont trade anymore?
Maybe if have 500bitcoins thats the right time for me to quit in bitcoinworld, its a real big amount for me to achieve all my dreams in life. I can buy a new home house and lot.cars and build my own business and I can peacefully leave and have a happy life.

I would say that I would stop trading when I reach an amount that I could comfortably live off for the rest of my life. This would be around 15,000btc, i would however not stop using Bitcoins, I would probably invest that 15,000 into something like a casino bankroll or fund exchanges, it is the money I receive from this that I would live off.

At my current age I would need at least 2,500 Bitcoins (at the current price) to get retired. But, it highly depends where you live. In a industrial nation you need at least $20,000 to 30,000 a year to make an average living.

I need at least 2,000 to 5,000 BTC to retire. I really hope that I can achieve that amount of BTC so that I can retire comfortably and have a peace of mind.I would invest that amount in an investment vehicle that would let me earn interest that is enough to support my expenses monthly.

If I wanted to retire but have a great life & enjoy myself not worrying about money it'd have to be something like 10,000 bitcoin's. That's never going to happen though so I should just stop dreaming & carry on working

I personally don't think that I will ever really "retire", and chances are I am going to end up doing this for a relatively long time. Making an extra $1k a year in Bitcoin (roughly) from the entirety of things that I do is definitely something I want to miss out on, until I'm making a three-digit salary anyways. The money from Bitcoin can easily be repurposed and can be made useful, and I've already been seeing some of my savings going up. You just have to find ways to do things.

Well with the current value of bitcoin, i would be able to retire owning something like 300-500btc would be enought to retire, but with such portfolio i would keep working atleast maybe more 5 years to get a car with those money.

I personally aim for a couple thousand bitcoin This is only if I am investing everything into bitcoin, however. If I were to invest partially in bitcoin and the rest in fiat, I would do just under a thousand bitcoin. it would be great to have that much bitcoins though i think it needs a lot of efforts for getting it, i hope that i will make profit with it in the future

I also agree with the total amount. I was gathering my bitcoin to thousands. I hope I can be patient until the next 20 years lol

A hard working person can not go full retired because he can't stay doing nothing, but in generally I think one million or maximum of few million dollars for a person should be needed to go full retired, I can't convert these in bitcoin as the bitcoin changes very often in few days.

About 5000 BTC
I wouldn't hold that much coin though, I would buy 10 apartments/houses and live off the rents.
If I'm earning money easily (extremely well paid job for example) I would probably keep going a few more years to be able to buy an island (not an expensive one, in Panama they're quite cheap) and a floatplane.

Where do you live ? 500BTC is only enough to buy a 2 bedroom flat where I live. I would probably move to a cheaper location if I retired, but you can't expect cheap locations to stay cheap forever, so you need investments that will follow the cost of living. At the moment I think I'd like to live in Morocco, Casablanca to be precise.
